The First Example of Tb-3-Containing Metallopolymer-Type Hybrid Materials with Efficient and High Color-Purity Green Luminescence
In the series of homo-leptic trinuclear complexes {[Ln(3)(L)(4)Cl-4(MeOH)(H2O)]center dot Cl} (Ln = La, 1; Ln = Eu, 2; Ln = Tb, 3 or Ln = Gd, 4) self-assembled from the allyl-modified benzimidazole-type ligand HL (4-allyl-2-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)-6-methoxyphenol) and LnCl(3)center dot 6H(2)O, a suitable energy level match endows efficient green luminescence (Phi(overall) = 72%) of Tb-3-arrayed complex 3. The copolymerization between each of these complex monomers 1-4 and C=C-containing MMA (methyl methacrylate) or NBE (norbornene) shows that degradative chain transfer of the terminal four flexible allyl groups within restrains their radical polymerization with MMA while it does not hinder their effective ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) with NBE. Thus, two kinds of PMMA-supported doping hybrid materials 1@PMMA, 2@PMMA, 3@PMMA and 4@PMMA and PNBE-supported metallopolymer-type hybrid materials Poly( NBE-1), Poly(NBE-2), Poly(NBE-3) and Poly(NBE-4) are obtained, respectively. Especially for both 3@PMMA and Poly(NBE-3) with high color-purity characteristic green emission of Tb3+ ions, improved physical properties including significantly enhanced luminescence (Phi(overall) = 76% or 83%) are observed, and covalent-bonding endows a higher-concentration self-quenching as compared to physical doping.National Natural Science Foundation 21373160, 91222201, 21173165Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University from the Ministry of Education of China NCET-10-0936Doctoral Program of Higher Education 20116101110003Science and Technology and Innovation Project of Shaanxi Province 2012KTCQ01-37Graduate Innovation and Creativity Fund (Visiting Learner) of Northwest University in P. A novel decentralized economic operation in islanded AC microgrids
Droop schemes are usually applied to the control of distributed generators (DGs) in microgrids (MGs) to realize proportional power sharing. The objective might, however, not suit MGs well for economic reasons. Addressing that issue, this paper proposes an alternative droop scheme for reducing the total active generation costs (TAGC). Optimal economic operation, DGs’ capacity limitations and system stability are fully considered basing on DGs’ generation costs. The proposed scheme utilizes the frequency as a carrier to realize the decentralized economic operation of MGs without communication links. Moreover, a fitting method is applied to balance DGs’ synchronous operation and economy. The effectiveness and performance of the proposed scheme are verified through simulations and experiments
Error-voltage-based open-switch fault diagnosis strategy for matrix converters with model predictive control method
This paper proposes an error-voltage based open-switch fault diagnosis strategy for matrix converter (MC). A finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) method is used to operate the MC. The MC system performances under normal operation and under a single open-switch fault operation are analyzed. A fault diagnosis strategy has also been implemented in two steps. First, the faulty phase is detected and identified based on a comparison of the reference and estimated output line-to-line voltages. Then, the faulty switch is located by considering the switching states of the faulty phase. The proposed fault diagnosis method is able to locate the faulty switch accurately and quickly without additional voltage sensors. Simulation and experimental results are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed strateg
2,7-Dibromo-9,9-bis[(pyridin-1-ium-4-yl)methyl]fluorene dinitrate
In the title compound, C25H20Br2N2
2+·2NO3
−, the cation lies on a twofold rotation axis which imposes disorder of the dibromofluorene unit. In addition, the unique nitrate anion is disordered over two general sites of equal occupancy. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds
AdaptivePose++: A Powerful Single-Stage Network for Multi-Person Pose Regression
Multi-person pose estimation generally follows top-down and bottom-up
paradigms. Both of them use an extra stage ( human
detection in top-down paradigm or grouping process in bottom-up paradigm) to
build the relationship between the human instance and corresponding keypoints,
thus leading to the high computation cost and redundant two-stage pipeline. To
address the above issue, we propose to represent the human parts as adaptive
points and introduce a fine-grained body representation method. The novel body
representation is able to sufficiently encode the diverse pose information and
effectively model the relationship between the human instance and corresponding
keypoints in a single-forward pass. With the proposed body representation, we
further deliver a compact single-stage multi-person pose regression network,
termed as AdaptivePose. During inference, our proposed network only needs a
single-step decode operation to form the multi-person pose without complex
post-processes and refinements. We employ AdaptivePose for both 2D/3D
multi-person pose estimation tasks to verify the effectiveness of AdaptivePose.
Without any bells and whistles, we achieve the most competitive performance on
MS COCO and CrowdPose in terms of accuracy and speed. Furthermore, the
outstanding performance on MuCo-3DHP and MuPoTS-3D further demonstrates the
effectiveness and generalizability on 3D scenes. Code is available at

A modified modulation scheme for three-level diode-clamped matrix converter under unbalanced input conditions
The three-level diode-clamped matrix converter topology has outstanding performance under ideal operating conditions. However, input disturbance can influence the waveforms at the output side of the converter due to the direct coupling between the input and output. This paper proposes a modified modulation scheme for three-level diode-clamped matrix converter during operation with unbalanced input voltages and when different transformer turns ratios are used for an isolation transformer at the input. With this modulation technique, sinusoidal and balanced output voltages are guaranteed and the input current harmonics are minimized. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed modulation scheme
Bioinspired Polyethersulfone Membrane Design via Blending with Functional Polyurethane
Polyurethanes (PUs) are currently considered to be biocompatible materials but limited by a low resistance to thrombus. We therefore design a heparin-like PU (HLPU) to modify polyethersulfone (PES) membranes approaching integrated antifouling and antithrombotic properties by bioinspiration of heparin structure. Poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)-HLPU (PVP-HLPU) was synthesized via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization of VP using PU as a macroinitiator and then sulfonated by concentrated H2SO4. FTIR and NMR results demonstrated the successful synthesis of PVP-HLPU. By incorporation of PVP-HLPU, the cross-sectional structure of PES composite membranes altered from finger-like structure to sponge-like structure resulting in tunable permeability. The increased hydrophilicity verified by water contact angles benefited both the permeability and antifouling property. As a consequence, the composite membranes showed good blood compatibility, including decreased protein adsorption, suppressed platelet adhesion, lowered thrombin-antithrombin III generation, reduced complement activation, and prolonged clotting times. Interestingly, the PVP-capped HLPU showed better blood compatibility compared to polyethyleneglycol-capped and citric acid-capped HLPUs. The results demonstrated the enhanced antifouling and antithrombotic properties of PES hemodialysis membranes by the introduction of functional HLPUs. Also, the proposed method may forward the fabrication of hemocompatible membranes via bioinspired surface design
