The first part of this dissertation answers the questions posed in the article ``A note on permanents and generalized complementary basic matrices , {\it Linear Algebra Appl.} 436 (2012), by M. Fiedler and F. Hall. Further results on permanent compounds of generalized complementary basic matrices are obtained. Most of the results are also valid for the determinant and the usual compound matrix. Determinant and permanent compound products which are intrinsic are also considered, along with extensions to total unimodularity. The second part explores some connections of dense alternating sign matrices with total unimodularity, combined matrices, and generalized complementary basic matrices. In the third part of the dissertation, an explicit formula for the ranks of dense alternating sign matrices is obtained. The minimum rank and the maximum rank of the sign pattern of a dense alternating sign matrix are determined. Some related results and examples are also provided

This review presents an overview of the current state-of-the-art in photonics computing, which leverages photons, photons coupled with matter, and optics-related technologies for effective and efficient computational purposes. It covers the history and development of photonics computing and modern analogue computing platforms and architectures, focusing on optimization tasks and neural network implementations. The authors examine special-purpose optimizers, mathematical descriptions of photonics optimizers, and their various interconnections. Disparate applications are discussed, including direct encoding, logistics, finance, phase retrieval, machine learning, neural networks, probabilistic graphical models, and image processing, among many others. The main directions of technological advancement and associated challenges in photonics computing are explored, along with an assessment of its efficiency. Finally, the paper discusses prospects and the field of optical quantum computing, providing insights into the potential applications of this technology.Comment: Invited submission by Journal of Advanced Quantum Technologies; accepted version 5/06/202

Employment management policies in single-industry towns in the light of existing issues of precarious employment

Purpose: The article aims to study the precarious employment in single-industry towns and to assess the effectiveness of government measures aimed at reducing it and ensuring the protection of economic and social rights of workers. Design/Methodology/Approach: It was revealed that the transition to an information-digital society, which continues to be formatted at the junction of changes in communication technologies and the motivation of employment behavior, has significantly changed the labor market in Russia. There was a massive introduction of non-standard forms of employment, which has not only positive effects, but also negative risks that are most acute in single-industry towns. To minimize these risks, it is necessary to find mechanisms to increase the economic and social security of workers with flexible employment. Findings: The paper proposes to develop an employment management policy in single-industry towns regarding the precarious employment and include measures of solving the issues related to self-employment of the population. Practical Implications: The practical results of the study can be used to develop assumptions for regional authorities to reduce precarious employment in single-industry towns. Originality / Value: The main contribution of this study is that single-industry cities should reduce inefficient “social employment” by creating highly efficient jobs and developing self-employmenpeer-reviewe

HYPERVENTILATION HYPOCAPNIA AS THE LEONARDO DA VINCI’S SYNDROME

The paper in early history of pulmonary medicine deals with studies of hypocapnia as a result of hyperventilation. Hyperventilation hypocapnia provokes respiratory alkalosis, subsequent ion changes in blood may cause disorders of myocardium conductivity and excitability resulted in arrhythmiae and even heart failure. Besides, hypocapnia limits the cerebral circulation which may be manifested in euphoria and even loss of consciousness. It is dangerous component of high altitude disease. Earliest medical descriptions of hyperventilation hypocapnia and its cardiac consequences are traditionally related with publications by an American physician of XIX age J.M. Da Costa and British doctor A.B.R. Myers. There exists a generally accepted eponym of "Da Costa syndrome". Hereby the authors for the first time coin data that disorders related to hyperventilation were described more than 360 years prior to Da Costa - by an Italian polymath of Renaissance epoch Leonardo da Vinci and suggest new eponym of "Leonardo da Vinci\u27s syndrome". The article also briefly analyzes the medical studies of Leonardo da Vinci and his early contribution into Human Anatomy and Thyroidology

Understanding the phylogenetic origin of a concept of innovation stands as the main precipice in establishing a sustainable concept of innovation. And as a scientific direction in studying emergence, distribution and commercialization of innovations. Primary Novelty of present article is expressed through analysis of neoindustrialization as a process of transition to a new economic paradigm through renewal of industrial infrastructure and its form of organization in a Technetronic phase of development. Comparative, comprehensive and factor analysis stands as the main methodology for the present article. Primary data consists of government and commercial statistics. The empirical analysis shows the importance of the vertically integrated structures in the course of new cluster development as well as their weight and importance in the development of the modern digital economy. Results of a research of Economist Intelligence Unit in 82 countries of the world say that such countries as Mexico or China, quickly improve the skills in the field of innovations. The research allowed being elicited one remarkable fact: the countries with the average level of economic welfare have additional benefits that introduction of domestic innovative developments stimulates also faster development of foreign experience

Benchmarking the optimization optical machines with the planted solutions

We introduce universal, easy-to-reproduce generative models for the QUBO instances to differentiate the performance of the hardware/solvers effectively. Our benchmark process extends the well-known Hebb's rule of associative memory with the asymmetric pattern weights. We provide a comprehensive overview of calculations conducted across various scales and using different classes of dynamical equations. Our aim is to analyze their results, including factors such as the probability of encountering the ground state, planted state, spurious state, or states falling outside the predetermined energy range. Moreover, the generated problems show additional properties, such as the easy-hard-easy complexity transition and complicated cluster structures of planted solutions. Our method establishes a prospective platform to potentially address other questions related to the fundamental principles behind device physics and algorithms for novel computing machines.Comment: 18 pages, 7 figures, 12 figures in the supplementary sectio
