Abstract The aims of this paper are to share the results of the action research of the future foreign language teachers’ digital and ICT literacy skills development and to demonstrate the opportunities for their development while pre-service teacher training process with the focus on the courses of Methodology of foreign language teaching and Practical course of foreign language as well as other positive practices. The authors present the results of comparative analysis of Ukrainian and American educational programmes for future foreign language teachers as for their opportunities to develop their digital and ICT literacy skills. The article discusses the digital and ICT literacy skills use in learning and teaching as an important component of future teachers’ training and a contribution to the university education quality and the employability of university graduates. The projects which influenced the action research elaborating are described. The results of three surveys are presented. The post-action-research stage is described as the one influenced with students’ and teachers’ participation in projects alongside with the extremely increased use of ICT in the conditions of the pandemic

Enhancing software engineering education in higher education institutions through cloud-based learning tools: methodological and practical perspectives

    No full text
Objective: This study aims to develop a comprehensive methodology for integrating cloud-based learning tools into software engineering education for students in higher education institutions (HEIs). Research tasks: The research encompasses exploring the psychological and pedagogical aspects of software engineering education in HEIs, investigating the influence of cloud technologies on higher education, designing a robust model for implementing a methodological system that incorporates cloud-based learning tools, and conducting an experimental implementation of the proposed model. Research focus: The research focuses on the teaching and learning process of software engineering disciplines among students in HEIs, specifically emphasizing the utilization of cloud-based learning tools. Research methods: The research methodology involves analyzing relevant scholarly publications, dissertations, conference proceedings, and seminars, along with studying the experiences of educators through surveys and questionnaires. Additionally, the research incorporates practical experimentation with cloud-based learning tools. Research findings: The study highlights the crucial need to prioritize fundamental knowledge acquisition in software engineering education, which can be facilitated by the mobility features inherent in cloud-based learning tools. Furthermore, it reveals a significant correlation between emerging trends in information technology and the development of methodological teaching systems. The analysis underscores the transformative impact of cloud technologies on learning tools and other key components of the methodological teaching system. The research successfully implements an experimental model that integrates cloud-based learning tools into the methodological system. Conclusions and recommendations: The findings demonstrate that cloud technologies profoundly influence the technological aspects of the methodological system while simultaneously shaping the objectives and curriculum of IT professionals. The developed methodological system, which incorporates cloud technologies, plays a pivotal role in fostering the foundational education of IT professionals

    MOBILITY: A SYSTEMS APPROACH

A comprehensive study on the problem of mobility in the socio-educational and technical systems was carried out: the evolution of the concept of mobility in scientific sources of XIX–XXI centuries was analyzed and the new sources on the issue of mobility introduced into scientific circulation, the interrelation of the types of mobility in the socio-pedagogical and technical systems are theoretically grounded, an integrative model of mobility in the information society is proposed. The major trends in academic mobility are identified (the transition from student mobility to mobility programs and educational services providers), the new mobility programs (franchising, double/joint degrees, combinations, nostrification etc.) are characterized. The new types of mobility providers are reviewed and attention is focused on virtual universities that are now the basis of virtual mobility of students and activities which are based on the use of new ICT in higher education, especially – the Internet and mobile learning environments

Mobility in the information society: a holistic model

Ukraine’s National Strategy for Education Development aims to align its education system with global standards and sustainable development goals. One of the key objectives is to integrate higher education with European norms, offer diverse educational models, and meet information and communication needs. The European Commission supports this integration process by fostering initiatives such as the Bologna process, mobility, and cooperation with programs like Erasmus+. Mobility, enabled by information and communication technologies, is essential for building the European educational and scientific space. This paper explores the different aspects of mobility, such as geographic, social, professional, academic, learning, software, hardware, and technological mobility. It investigates how they relate to each other within socio-pedagogical and technical systems, highlighting their importance for the information society. Using historical and contemporary perspectives, the paper develops a holistic model of mobility in the information society. Future research directions include the dynamic evolution of mobility within higher education systems, its sociocultural implications, and its intersection with technological innovations and state-political transformations. Furthermore, the phenomenon of mobility in technological and pedagogical systems, driven by the spread of mobile information and communication technologies, deserves more attention

Mobility in socio-educational and technical systems: an integrative model for the information society

    No full text
This study aims to elucidate the state of research on mobility within socio-educational and technical systems through a comprehensive analysis of primary sources. The methodology employed includes the examination of primary sources, followed by their generalization and systematization, culminating in the synthesis of models. The findings are threefold: Firstly, we trace the evolution of the concept of mobility through scientific literature spanning the 19th to 21st centuries. Secondly, we offer interpretations of various types of mobility within socio-pedagogical and technical discourses. Lastly, we propose an integrative model of mobility tailored for the information society. Our research contributes to the field by providing a theoretical grounding for the interrelation of different types of mobility within socio-pedagogical and technical systems. The practical significance of this study lies in its introduction of new sources on the topic of mobility into scientific discourse
