Immunological relationships between the diacylglycerol-transporting lipoproteins in the hemolymph of locusta

    1. 1. Immunoelectrophoresis and immunodiffusion of the diacylglycerol-carrying protein fractions isolated by gel filtration from the haemolymph of male locusts at rest and after injection of the adipokinetic hormone evidenced an immunological relationship between all lipoprotein fractions. 2. 2. The two lipoprotein fractions (AyR and OR) occurring in Locusta at rest are immunologically identical; the very high molecular weight fraction OR apparently is a polymer of basic lipoprotein AyR. 3. 3. In the lipoprotein fraction A+ appearing after injection of the adipokinetic hormone, as well as in the elevated fraction OAKH, two protein constituents are immunologically identical with the basic lipoprotein AyR. In addition, the third protein component is descended from the non-lipid carrying haemolymph protein C. © 1981.status: publishe
