Demo: Shield UI JavaScript Chart - A Flexible HTML5 Data Visualization Component

    Get PDF
Shield UI’s advanced framework for creating rich charts and graphs is the first of a line of data visualization components, giving web developers the power for embedding rich graphics in their web projects with minimum effort. Built with HTML, CSS3 and packaged as a jQuery plugin, the library has full support for legacy and modern desktop web browsers, as well as the latest mobile devices

The Price Impact of Order Book Events

We study the price impact of order book events - limit orders, market orders and cancelations - using the NYSE TAQ data for 50 U.S. stocks. We show that, over short time intervals, price changes are mainly driven by the order flow imbalance, defined as the imbalance between supply and demand at the best bid and ask prices. Our study reveals a linear relation between order flow imbalance and price changes, with a slope inversely proportional to the market depth. These results are shown to be robust to seasonality effects, and stable across time scales and across stocks. We argue that this linear price impact model, together with a scaling argument, implies the empirically observed "square-root" relation between price changes and trading volume. However, the relation between price changes and trade volume is found to be noisy and less robust than the one based on order flow imbalance

    Valuation of Music Catalogs

We propose a risk neutral approach to forecast the cashflows of music catalogs, based on historical revenue data. We use a discounted cashflows formula to produce reasonable ranges of multipliers for these assets, based on the age of the catalog, the last-twelve-months revenue and the duration of the contract. We compare the multipliers implied by the cashflows of top, median and bottom performing songs on the Royalty Exchange platform. We find that ask prices are close to the multipliers justified by median song cashflows. The best bids are near the multipliers justified by the bottom decile of song cashflows

The article deals with issues of product certification in the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union. The objects of study are the economic systems of the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union. The area of research is the theoretical basis for monitoring the development of economic systems of these associations. According to the authors, the plan for an agreement on economic rapprochement between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union today seems fantastic. Relations between Russia and the European Union are currently in a significant crisis. Cooperation in the economic field is reduced in terms of mutual sanctions. At the same time, the authors believe that the European Union is capable of playing a major role in solving the issues of improving the states of the Eurasian Economic Union member states, primarily on an economic scale. The role of the Russian food import limit showed the degree of interdependence in foreign trade and the interest of European companies in the normalization of commercial and economic relations. The countries of the world community, including Russia, confirm the unity of their views on the process of harmonization of standards, understanding that in practice harmonized standards guarantee the quality of products and services, the environmentally friendly production and goods, occupational safety, interoperability of products and, if necessary, its interchangeability. In this regard, the issue of harmonization of European and Russian standards of conformity, paperwork for certification and assessment of conformity and quality of exported and imported products, the mechanism of quality management of works and services is relevant. The certification rules in the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union have been analyzed in the article, the CE and EAU marking and problems arising when applying these symbols have been considered, the influence of external (market requirements, competition) and internal (organizational, economic, etc.) factors on development of markets, placement of productive forces, increasing the efficiency of social production have been examined. It has been concluded, that standardization should be perceived as an effective element of the mechanism for managing the quality of products, works and services. This is confirmed by the fact, that the creation and application of harmonized standards allows one to get closer to the benchmarks of sustainable development and to remove many of the modern challenges from the agenda in a timely manner

© 2017 Vavilova and Stoikov; Licensee Beilstein-Institut. New p-tert-butylthiacalix[4]arenes, which are mono-, 1,2-di- and tetrasubstituted at the lower rim containing N-(4'- nitrophenyl)acetamide and N,N-diethylacetamide groups in cone and partial cone conformations have been synthesized. Their complexation ability towards a number of tetrabutylammonium salts n-Bu 4 NX (X = F - , Cl - , Br - , I - , CH 3 CO 2 -, H 2 PO 4 - , NO 3 - ) was studied by UV spectroscopy. The effective receptor for the anions studied as well as selective receptors for F-, CH 3 CO 2 - and H 2 PO 4 - ions, which based on the synthesized thiacalix[4]arenes, have been obtained. It was shown that p-tertbutylthiacalix[ 4] arene tetrasubstituted at the lower rim by N-(4'-nitrophenyl)acetamide moieties bonded to the anions studied with association constants within the range of 3.55 × 10 3 -7.94 × 10 5 M -1 . Besides, the binding selectivity for F - , Cl - , CH 3 CO 2 - , and H 2 PO 4 - anions against other anions was in the range of 4.1-223.9. Substituting one or two fragments in the macrocycle with N,Ndiethylacetamide groups significantly reduces the complexation ability of the receptor. In contrast to the 1,3-disubstituted macrocycle containing two N-(4'-nitrophenyl)acetamide moieties, the 1,2-disubstituted thiacalix[4]arene, which contains only one such fragment and a N,N-diethylacetamide moiety, selectively binds F - anions

Tetracarboxylic acids on a thiacalixarene scaffold: Synthesis and binding of dopamine hydrochloride

© The Royal Society of Chemistry and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique 2018. For the first time thiacalix[4]arene derivatives in 1,3-alternate conformation simultaneously containing amide, carboxyl and hydroxyl groups capable of forming 1:1 stoichiometry complexes with dopamine hydrochloride were obtained. The efficiency of dopamine hydrochloride binding was evaluated by a number of spectral methods. Using the methods of fluorescent, UV-Vis and NMR spectroscopy, the mechanism of interaction of the synthesized macrocycles with dopamine has been studied. It was shown that quenching of dopamine fluorescence by the studied macrocycles is carried out through a static mechanism
