Evaluation of the current state of aquatic ecosystems and the problems of the protection of biological resources during development of kruzenshternskoye gcf

The results of studies of the current state of freshwater ecosystems and their biotic components in the western part of the Yamal Peninsula are presented in the article. Based on the evaluation of the structure of communities of phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthos, and whitefishes, the range of problems related to the protection of biological resources during the development of the Kruzenshternskoye gas field is defined. The data on species composition and quantitative indicators of hydrobionts of different types of waterbodies and watercourses in the lower reaches of the Mordyyakha and Naduyyakha Rivers basins is the basis for environmental monitoring of water objects during development and exploitation of the Kruzenshternskoye gas field. Estimation of the fish fauna state and their food base in the territory of the Kruzenshternskoye GCF according to the monitoring program is present. The river delta zones are the most important feeding areas of the salmonid and whitefishes valuable fish species in the territory of Kruzenshternskoye GCF. In cases where water bodies and watercourses are not completely demolished for the construction of GCF facilities, changes of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of communities of hydrobionts after the end of operations are reversible. River ecosystems are restored within a shorter period of time in comparison to lacustrine ones. Proposals for the protection of fisheries resources and monitoring of aquatic ecosystems on the basis of comprehensive studies are reported. Recommendations on reducing the anthropogenic impact on aquatic ecosystems in the development period are present. The results of the investigation were used in the development of the environmental protection part of the Kruzenshternskoye deposit project. Anthropogenic disturbances present now on the gas deposit territory of Kruzenshternskoye does not influence the aquatic ecosystems. The article have been prepared within the Project of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences № 12-P-47-2013 and "The Arctic" Project of the Presidium of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences № 12-4-3-012

Evidence for two-gap nodeless superconductivity in SmFeAsO0.8_{0.8}F0.2_{0.2} from point-contact Andreev-reflection spectroscopy

Point-contact Andreev-reflection measurements were performed in SmFeAsO_{0.8}F_{0.2} polycrystals with T_c \simeq 53 K. The experimental conductance curves reproducibly exhibit peaks around \pm 6 mV and shoulders at V \sim 16-20 mV, indicating the presence of two nodeless superconducting gaps. While the single-band Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk fit can only reproduce a small central portion of the conductance curve, the two-gap one accounts remarkably well for the shape of the whole experimental dI/dV. The fits of the normalized curves give Delta_1(0) = 6.15 \pm 0.45 meV and Delta_2(0) = 18 \pm 3 meV. Both gaps close at the same temperature and follow a BCS-like behavior.Comment: 4 pages, 4 eps color figure

Langmuir wave linear evolution in inhomogeneous nonstationary anisotropic plasma

Equations describing the linear evolution of a non-dissipative Langmuir wave in inhomogeneous nonstationary anisotropic plasma without magnetic field are derived in the geometrical optics approximation. A continuity equation is obtained for the wave action density, and the conditions for the action conservation are formulated. In homogeneous plasma, the wave field E universally scales with the electron density N as E ~ N^{3/4}, whereas the wavevector evolution varies depending on the wave geometry

Fiber laser beam welding of a CoCrFeNiMn-type high entropy alloy (HEA) produced by self-propagating hightemperature synthesis (SHS) was reported in this work. The SHS-fabricated alloy was characterized by both ∼2 times reduced Mn content in comparison with that of the other principal components and the presence of impurities including Al, C, S, and S

Higgs Boson Discovery Potential of LHC in the Channel ppγγ+jetpp \to\gamma\gamma+jet

We discuss the SM Higgs discovery potential of LHC in the reaction ppH+jetγγ+jetpp\to H+ jet\to\gamma\gamma+jet when the jet is observed at sufficiently high EtE_t to be reliably identified. We conclude that this channel gives promising discovery possibilities for the Higgs boson mass range 100-140 GeV, during LHC operation at a low luminosity. With 30 fb1^{-1} of accumulated data and for MH=120M_H=120 GeV about 100 signal events could be observed with the number of background events larger by a factor of 2 only, showing a signal significance S/B7S/\sqrt{B}\sim 7. We use the difference of distributions in the partonic subprocess energy s^\sqrt{\hat s} for the signal and background for a better separation of the signal.Comment: 15 pages including 6 figures, LaTeX, use epsfig.sty. Effect of temperature and strain on the formation of elongated fine grained structure in middle carbon steel during large plastic deformation

    Get PDF
The influence of deformation temperature and strain rate on the mechanisms of elongated fine grain (EFG) formation in the medium-carbon steel was studied. Compression tests were carried out at the temperatures in range of 673-973K at three different strain rates: 10-2, 1.3*10-3 and 10-4 s-1. Presence of two temperature intervals with different dominant mechanisms of deformation was identified: low temperature (673-823K) interval and high temperature (873-973K) interval. Microstructure evolution during deformation at strain rate of 1.3*10-3 s-1 and different temperatures was studied. Also was investigated the microstructure and mechanical properties of steel after warm plastic deformatio

    Ion-kinetic D'Angelo mode

An extension of hydrodynamic D'Angelo mode of inhomogeneous sheared plasma flow along the magnetic field into the short-wavelength limit, where the hydrodynamic treatment is not valid, has been considered. We find that D'Angelo mode in this wavelength range is excited by inverse ion Landau damping and becomes the shear flow driven ion-kinetic mode.Comment: 9 pages, 1 figur

    Point-contact Andreev-reflection spectroscopy in segregation-free Mg_{1-x}Al_{x}B_2 single crystals up to x=0.32

We present new results of point-contact Andreev-reflection (PCAR) spectroscopy in single-phase Mg_{1-x}Al_{x}B_{2} single crystals with x up to 0.32. Fitting the conductance curves of our point contacts with the two-band Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk model allowed us to extract the gap amplitudes Delta_{sigma} and Delta_{pi}. The gap values agree rather well with other PCAR results in Al-doped crystals and polycrystals up to x=0.2 reported in literature, and extend them to higher Al contents. In the low-doping regime, however, we observed an increase in the small gap Delta_{pi} on increasing x (or decreasing the local critical temperature of the junctions, T_{c}^{A}) which is not as clearly found in other samples. On further decreasing T_{c}^{A} below 30 K, both the gaps decrease and, up to the highest doping level x=0.32 and down to T_{c}^{A}= 12 K, no gap merging is observed. A detailed analysis of the data within the two-band Eliashberg theory shows that this gap trend can be explained as being mainly due to the band filling and to an increase in the interband scattering which is necessary to account for the increase in Delta_{pi} at low Al contents (x < 0.1). We suggest to interpret the following decrease of Delta_{pi} for T_{c}^{A} < 30 K as being governed by the onset of inhomogeneity and disorder in the Al distribution that partly mask the intrinsic effects of doping and is not taken into account in standard theoretical approaches.Comment: 22 pages, 9 eps figures, Elsevier style.
