Euceraphis Walker 1870
Euceraphis sp.
Material. NDU: 3.vii.2017, Betula nana, sweeping, al. (AS). NUO: near to Talnakh, 24.vii.2017, Alnus alnobetula subsp. fruticosa, on lower side of leaves, al. (AS).

Comments. These aphids are not identifiable to specific level with the existing keys to the genus Euceraphis (Blackman & De Boise 2002; Blackman & Eastop 2019) because several features are intermediate and are located between the values specified in the key couplets. The small number of specimens prevents deciding whether these characteristics represent intraspecific variation or the collected specimens belong to a previously unknown taxon.
Published as part of Stekolshchikov, Andrey V. & Khruleva, Olga A., 2020, Contribution to the aphid fauna (Homoptera, Aphidinea) of the Taymyrsky Dolgano-Nenetsky District and the krai city of Norilsk, with descriptions of two new species of the genus Metopolophium, pp. 87-118 in Zootaxa 4748 (1) on page 92, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4748.1.5, http://zenodo.org/record/3697622
Aphidina
Subtribe Aphidina
Aphis galiae Ivanovskaja

Published information. Ivanovskaya (1977) indicates that this species was collected from Betula nana in the vicinity of Norilsk (NUO). We managed to study a slide on which there is an apterous viviparous female collected on 24 July 1964 from Betula nana in the vicinity of Talnakh and identified by Ivanovskaya as Aphis galiae. However, the slide is in bad condition, the aphids are poorly visible and they can hardly be identified even to genus, so it is impossible to confirm or disprove Ivanovskaya’s determination.

Aphis khrulevae Stekolshchikov et Buga

Published information. Ivanovskaya (1977) recorded that Aphis verbasci Schrank was collected in the vicinity of Norilsk (NUO) and that aphids of this species live in the territory of Siberia on Verbascum. We managed to study a slide on which there are two apterous viviparous females collected on 24 July 1964 from “ Veronica?” in the vicinity of Talnakh and identified by Ivanovskaya as Aphis verbasci. These aphids, two fundatrices, were included, along with material from the Murmansk region and several other fundatrices collected by O.A. Khruleva in the lower course of Kotuy River in 2010, in the description of the new species Aphis khrulevae Stekolshchikov et Buga. We do not know if Ivanovskaya had other material from Taymyr that she could diagnose as Aphis verbasci; however, plants of genus Verbascum are completely absent from the flora of the region, suggesting the record of this species in Taymyr was the result of an erroneous determination.

Material. LCK: 2.vii.2010, Veronica longifolia L., fund. Acyrthosiphon Mordvilko 1914
Acyrthosiphon sp. aff. knechteli
Published information. Ivanovskaya (1977) recorded the presence of Metopolophium dirhodum (Walker) and Sitobion avenae (Fabricius) in the vicinity of Norilsk. We studied three slides from the collection SZM ISEA SB RAS (collection number 3488) on which there are four apterous viviparous females collected on 24 July 1964 by sweeping in the vicinity of Talnakh which were identified by Ivanovskaya as Metopolophium dirhodum, Sitobion avenae and Acyrthosiphon sp. All four individuals belong to a species close to Acyrthosiphon knechteli (Börner); however, the poor state of the slides does not allow for the exact identification of this material. Since other samples of Metopolophium dirhodum and Sitobion avenae from Taymyr are unknown, the records of these species in this region are probably the result of an erroneous determination.

Material. NUO: near to Talnakh, 24.vii.1964, apt. Calaphidina Oestlund 1919
Subtribe Calaphidina
Betulaphis pelei Hille Ris Lambers

Material. NNV: 14.viii.1977, sweeping, al. (AB).

Boernerina alni Takahashi

Published information. Ivanovskaya (1977) indicates that an alate viviparous female was found in Talnakh (NUO) in July. She identified this specimen as Boernerina depressa Bramstedt. However, the study of the corresponding slide from her collection showed that in fact this alatae belongs to the species Boernerina alni Takahashi. Thus, Boernerina depressa should be excluded from the list of species found on Taymyr.

Material. NNV: 14.viii.1977, sweeping on Salix sp., ovip. (AB). NDU: 1.vii.2017, Alnus alnobetula subsp. fruticosa (Rupr.) Raus, on lower side of leaves, imm. [5–8.vii.2017, apt. and al.] (AS). NUO: near to Talnakh, 20.vii.1964, Alnus sp., al. (EI).

Comments. The collected specimens are similar to Boernerina alni insularia Pashtshenko with regards to the ratio of the length and width of the 1st antennal segment and the number of setae on the ultimate rostral segment, as well as the absence of sclerotized bands on the abdomen of the alatae. At the same time, they have, in common with Boernerina alni alni Takahashi, a short ultimate rostral segment and the length of the posterior femora is almost equal to or greater than the width of the head through the eyes.

Calaphis flava Mordvilko

Material. NDU: 7.vii.2017, Betula nana L., on lower side of leaves, imm.
