AN APPLICATION OF MULTICRITERIA OPTIMIZATION TO THE TWO-CARRIER TWO-SPEED PLANETARY GEAR TRAINS

    Get PDF
The objective of this study is the application of multi-criteria optimization to the two-carrier two-speed planetary gear trains. In order to determine mathematical model of multi-criteria optimization, variables, objective functions and conditions should be determined. The subject of the paper is two-carrier two-speed planetary gears with brakes on single shafts. Apart from the determination of the set of the Pareto optimal solutions, the weighted coefficient method for choosing an optimal solution from this set is also included in the mathematical model

    EMBEDDED SYSTEMS FOR VIBRATION MONITORING

The purpose of the research presented in this paper is the development of the optimal micro configuration for vibration monitoring of pumping aggregate, based on Microchip’s microcontroller (MC). Hardware used is 10-bit MC, upgraded with 12/bit A/D converter. Software for acquisition and data analysis is optimized for testing turbo pumps with rotation speed up to 2000 rpm. This software limitation is set for automatic diagnostics and for individual and manual vibro-diagnostic; the only limitation is set by accelerometer performance. The authors have performed numerous measurements on a wide range of turbo aggregates for establishing the operational condition of pumping aggregates

WEAR LOAD CAPACITY OF CROSSED HELICAL GEARS

The paper presents a wear load capacity of crossed helical gears (gear pair consists of a worm and a helical gear). Crossed helical gears are similar to worm gear pairs, and it is logical to extend the load capacity calculation approach of worm gears for the case of crossed helical gears. One of the disadvantages of crossed helical gear sets is very high running-in wear. The paper explains the transition between running-in and steady-state wear and proposes a joint wear calculation model. The paper outlines a proposal to extend the calculation method for wear load capacity from a worm gear pair to the case of crossed helical gears (a worm with a helical gear). This calculation method for determining the wear load capacity of crossed helical gears is verified for the cases when the wheel is of bronze CuSn12Ni2-C-GCB and sintered steel Fe1.5Cr0.2Mo

Comparison of the size and efficiency of a two-carrier planetary gear train and kinematically equivalent planetary gear trains

A two-carrier planetary gear train (PGT) developed for a specific purpose is discussed in this paper. This PGT is suitable for applications which require negative transmission ratios in the range from -3 up to -143. The mechanical and dimensional characteristics of the planetary gear train for nominal negative transmission ratios of -30 and -40 have been considered. Many combinations of ideal torque ratios of the PGT were obtained for the mentioned transmission ratios, from which only the combinations providing the minimum radial dimensions of the planetary gear units were selected. It was found that the minimum radial dimensions of the PGT will be obtained when the ratio of the reference diameters of the planetary unit ring gears of is close to unity, i.e., when the PGT housing is cylindrical rather than stepped. An introduction to single speed two-carrier planetary gear trains is given, in addition to an overview of the application of the DVOBRZ software package used to synthesize different gearboxes for the required transmission ratio. Acceptable gearboxes were selected from all PGTs according to the criteria of minimum dimensions and acceptable efficiency, and their construction concepts were created
