A Model for the Off-forward Structure Functions of the Pion
We extend our model for the pion, which we used previously to calculate its
diagonal structure function, to the off-forward case. The imaginary part of the
off-forward gamma* pi -> gamma* pi scattering amplitude is evaluated in the
chiral limit (m_pi=0) and related to the twist-two and twist-three generalised
parton distributions, H, H3, H3tilde. Non-perturbative effects, linked to the
size of the pion and still preserving gauge invariance, are included.

The Valence Quark Distribution of the Pion
The pion structure function is investigated in a simple model, where the pion
and its constituent quark fields are coupled through the simplest pseudoscalar
coupling. The imaginary part of the forward gamma* pi -> gamma* pi scattering
amplitude is evaluated and related to the structure functions. It is shown that
the introduction of non-perturbative effects, linked to the size of the pion,
allows a connection with the quark distribution. It is predicted that
higher-twist terms become negligible for Q^2 larger than ~2 GeV^2, that quarks
in the pion have a momentum fraction smaller than in the proton case, and that

A Model for the Generalized Parton Distribution of the Pion
We calculate the off-forward structure function of the pion within a simple
model where the size of the pion is accounted for using a momentum cut-off.
Twist-two and twist-three generalized parton distributions are extracted.
Relations between twist-three and twist-two contributions are obtained, the
origin of which is not kinematical as they differ from those arising from the

A toy model for generalised parton distributions
We give the results of a simple model for the diagonal and off-diagonal
valence quark distributions of a pion. We show that structure can be
implemented in a gauge-invariant manner. This explicit model questions the
validityof the momentum sum rule, and gives an explicit counter-example to the

Pion Structure Function and Violation of the Momentum Sum Rule
We present a method to evaluate the pion structure functions from a box
diagram calculation. Pion and constituent quark fields are coupled through the
simplest pseudoscalar coupling. The gamma^* pi -> q \bar q cross-section is
evaluated and related to the structure functions. We then show that the
introduction of non-perturbative effects, related to the pion size and
preserving gauge invariance, provides us with a straighforward relation with
the quark distribution. It is predicted that higher-twist terms become
negligible for Q^2 larger than about 2 GeV^2 and that quarks in the pion have a
momentum fraction smaller than in the proton. We enlarge the discussion
concerning this violation of the momentum sum rule, emphasizing that the sum
rule is recovered in the chiral limit and also when the finite size condition

Systemic analysis of production scenarios for bioethanol produced from ligno-cellulosic biomass [abstract]
Defining alternatives for non-renewable energy sources constitutes a priority to the development of our societies. One of these alternatives is biofuels production starting from energy crops, agricultural wastes, forest products or wastes. In this context, a "second generation" biofuels production, aiming at utilizing the whole plant, including ligno-cellulosic (hemicelluloses, cellulose, lignin) fractions (Ogier et al., 1999) that are not used for human food, would allow the reduction of the drawbacks of bioethanol production (Schoeling, 2007). However, numerous technical, economical, ethical and environmental questions are still pending. One of the aims of the BioEtha2 project, directed by the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre, is to define the position of bioethanol produced from ligno-cellulosic biomass among the different renewable energy alternatives that could be developed in Wallonia towards 2020. With this aim, and in order to answer the numerous questions in this field, the project aims at using tools and methods coming from the concept of "forecasting scenarios" (Sebillotte, 2002; Slegten et al., 2007; For-learn, 2008). This concept, based on a contemporary reality, aims to explore different possible scenarios for the future development of alternative sources of energy production. The principle is to evaluate, explore, possible futures of the studied problematic, through the establishment of possible evolution trajectories. We contribute to this prospective through a systemic approach (Vanloqueren, 2007) that allows lightening the existing interactions within the system "ligno-cellulosic biomass chain" without isolating it from its environment. We explain and sketch the two contexts needed to identify primary stakes. The global context includes inter-dependant and auto-regulating fields such as society, politics, technology and economy. These four fields influence each part of the "chain" with specific tools. However, the interest and possible action fields lay within the intermediary context representing the "resources" such as agriculture, forestry, "driving" elements such as mobility, mediation elements such as territories and environment and concurrent elements such as non-cellulosic biomass, the energy mix and the non-energy valorization
Generalized Parton Distributions of the Pion
Off-forward structure functions of the pion are investigated in twist-two and
twist-three approximation. A simple model is used for the pion, which allows to
introduce finite size effects, while preserving gauge invariance. Results for
the imaginary parts of the gamma^* pi -> gamma^* pi off-forward amplitude and
of the structure functions are presented. Generalized Callan-Gross relations

Management of Gastro-Intestinal Parasite Pressure, Under Grazing in Organic Farms: Development of a Decision Support System Through the Mobilisation of a Participative Research Process
Under grazing, gastro-intestinal parasite management remains a major problem in ruminant production systems, more especially in systems respecting organic farming rules following their obligations (1) to perform grazing as soon as pedo-climatic conditions are adapted and (2) to use anti-parasitic products only in a curative way. Surprisingly, this problem has not been highlighted by the different stakeholders in the food chain from cattle meat production to consumption. This could arise from the lack of a clear and pertinent norm or infestation threshold that would allow differentiation between preventive and curative treatments. Such a norm would indicate to the breeder whether he was permitted to treat his herd or not. The question is how to involve the stakeholders in a participative research process in order to develop a decision support system (DSS) adapted to their needs, when there is, initially, no clear demand for such a system. We present the steps followed to develop such a DSS: (1) stakeholder sensitisation to the question, (2) data recording with farmers and developing the DSS principle, (3) data processing and DSS calibration and validation
