Intermolecular interactions-photophysical properties relationships in phenanthrene-9,10-dicarbonitrile assemblies

Phenanthrene-9,10-dicarbonitriles show various luminescence behaviour in solution and in the solid state. Aggregation patterns of phenanthrene-9,10-dicarbonitriles govern their luminescent properties in the solid state. Single crystal structures of phenanthrene-9,10-dicarbonitriles showed head-to-tail intraplane (or quasi-intraplane) intermolecular interactions and π-stacking patterns with eclipsing of molecules when viewed orthogonal to the stacking plane. The π-stacking interactions were detected in the X-ray structures of phenanthrene-9,10-dicarbonitriles and studied by DFT calculations at the M06–2X/6–311++G(d,p) level of theory and topological analysis of the electron density distribution within the framework of QTAIM method. The estimated strength of the C⋯C contacts responsible for the π-stacking interactions is 0.6–1.1 kcal/mol. The orientation of molecules in crystals depends on the substituents in phenanthrene-9,10-dicarbonitriles. Distinct molecular orientation and packing arrangements in crystalline phenanthrene-9,10-dicarbonitriles ensured perturbed electronic communication among the nearest and non-nearest molecules through an interplay of excimer and dipole couplings. As a result, the intermolecular interactions govern the solid state luminescence of molecules

Structural data of phenanthrene-9,10-dicarbonitriles

In this data article, we present the single-crystal XRD data of phenanthrene-9,10-dicarbonitriles. Icidence of HBsAg and HCV antibodies among workers exposed to HBV and HCV infection in Stip Medical Centre

The results shoving the presence of HIV and HCV infection in the employees of Stip Medical Center laboratories, haemodialysis unit, department of infectious diseases and blood transfusion unit are precented. The employees in the departments with an increased awareness of hepatitis infections show fewer HBV infection markers positive. All employees are exposed at their work place to contact with patients blood samples, but no one is HCV antibodies positive. HBV infection is less present among the employees in the department of infectious diseases: five times less than in the laboratories and eight times than in the haemodialysis unit. The importance of health education for hepatitis prevention is emphasized

Taking into account spring the upcoming autumn bird migration, the risk of Al virus introduction and spread in the territory of the Russian Federation increases

Epizootogical aspects of avian influenza prevention and control strategy in modern Russia

The paper is devoted to wide spread of avian influenza virus in the world and the disease prevention and control in Russia. It is necessary to monitor efficacy of inactivated vaccines against avian influenza caused by the currently circulating epizootic strains due to the virus evolution and variability. Reassortment of influenza A virus poses a serious threat to effectiveness of vaccination as an alternative to drastic measures. The message of the paper is to demonstrate how to better meet new challenges from the perspective of time
