Approximate Membership Function Shapes of Solutions to Intuitionistic Fuzzy Transportation Problems

    Get PDF
In this paper, proposing a mathematical model with disjunctive constraint system, and providing approximate membership function shapes to the optimal values of the decision variables, we improve the solution approach to transportation problems with trapezoidal fuzzy parameters. We further extend the approach to solving transportation problems with intuitionistic fuzzy parameters; and compare the membership function shapes of the fuzzy solutions obtained by our approach to the fuzzy solutions to full fuzzy transportation problems yielded by approaches found in the literature

Computation Results of Finding All Efficient Points in Multiobjective Combinatorial Optimization

    Get PDF
The number of efficient points in criteria space of multiple objective combinatorial optimization problems is considered in this paper. It is concluded that under certain assumptions, that number grows polynomially although the number of Pareto optimal solutions grows exponentially with the problem size. In order to perform experiments, an original algorithm for obtaining all efficient points was formulated and implemented for three classical multiobjective combinatorial optimization problems. Experimental results with the shortest path problem, the Steiner tree problem on graphs and the traveling salesman problem show that the number of efficient points is much lower than a polynomial upper bound

The paper presents a new original algorithm for solving Steiner tree problem on graph. The algorithm is simple and intended for solving problems with relatively low dimensions. It is based on use of existing open source software for solving integer linear programming problems. The algorithm is tested and shown very efficient for different randomly generated problems on graphs of up to 50 nodes, up to 10 terminals and average node degree 7

    Get PDF
The growing use of digital technologies in educational settings, paralleled by a paradigm change in educational theory from an instructivist transmission approach to constructivist and sociocultural theories of learning, demands more adapted teacher training programs, both technical and pedagogical. Looking at factors influencing teachers’ implementation of ICT in the foreign language classroom and guided by the results of a needs analysis survey conducted among twenty six language teachers from twenty five different European countries, the DOTS project aims to develop an online workspace with bite-sized learning objects for autonomous use by language professionals, particularly freelance teachers who frequently miss out on the training opportunities provided for their full-time colleagues

In the conducted study, the influence of the pasteurization and sterilization regime on the hygienic quality of raw and thermally treated milk was analyzed. Tests were conducted in the dairy "MEGGLE Srbija, doo" in Kragujevac. The following methods of thermal treatment were applied: short-term HTST pasteurization of raw milk at 75ºC, high HTST pasteurization of raw milk at 95ºC and flow-through UHT sterilization at 139ºC of previously pasteurized milk at 75ºC. The efficiency of thermal treatments on the hygienic quality of milk was determined by the following microbiological analyzes: by determining the total number of bacteria by the indirect method by Koch and by the internal analysis method applied in the dairy "MEGGLE Srbija, doo". Based on the tests carried out, a significant reduction in the number of bacteria after the pasteurization process of milk samples and their complete inhibition after the sterilization process was determined.U sprovedenom ispitivanju analiziran je uticaj režima pasterizacije i sterilizacije na higijenski kvalitetet sirovog i termički tretiranog mleka.

Optimization of electricity trading using linear programming

    Get PDF
In the last two decades, the liberalization of the electricity markets have been established in order to increase efficiency, harmonize and reduce electricity prices, make a better use of resources, give customers the right to choose their supplier and provide customers with a better service. This change made the electricity market competitive and introduced several new subjects. In this paper, we study one of these subjects: Electricity Trading Company (ETC) and its daily trading process. We present a linear mathematical model of total daily profit maximization subject to flow constraints. It is assumed that the demand and supply are known and some of them are arranged. Possible transmission capacities are known but also additional capacities can be purchased. All trading, transmission prices and amounts are subject of auctions. First, we present energy trading problem as directed multiple-source and multiple-sink network and then model it using linear programming. Also, we provide one realistic example which is slightly changed in order to save confidentiality of the given data

Monkeypox in pregnancy: clinical recommendation by the World Association of Perinatal Medicine-WAPM and the Perinatal Medicine Foundation-PMF

    Get PDF
The World Health Organization in May 2022 declared the monkeypox virus (MPXV) a health emergency. Since then, over 45,355 cases have been reported, mostly from countries where the disease is not endemic. At the moment, most confirmed cases with travel history are reported to countries in Europe and North America, rather than West or Central Africa where the monkeypox virus is endemic. Its transmission depends on large respiratory droplets and skin-to-skin or skin-to-lesion close physical contact, including oral, anal, and vaginal intercourse therefore, women are also at risk of acquiring it. Given few data available, women’s and clinicians’ concerns about the uncertainty of the clinical course and management are more than understandable, especially so after the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Lessons must be learnt from our prior mistakes and pregnant individuals should be included in international registries as well as any studies evaluating new treatments or vaccines. The following recommendation aims to provide the latest evidence about the effect of MPXV in pregnancy as well as recommendations for clinical management

Introduction. The success of healthcare organizations depends on the quality and speed of providing services to patients. Synonym for the term success of health care organization is the implementation of modern concepts Synonymous with the success of healthcare organizations is the implementation of modern concepts. In this paper, the emphasis is on the lean concept, affects the quality and speed of providing health services. Subject of research. The subject being researched in this paper is a lean concept which essence is determined by the implementation of methods that affect the speed and quality of providing health services. The aim of the work is to point out the actuality of the lean concept and its application at the tertiary level of health care. Examine the opinion of healthcare workers about the effects that would be achieved by applying the new management system (lean concept). Aim of this paper is to indicate the actuality of the lean concept and its application at the tertiary level of health care system. Examine the opinion of healthcare workers about the effects that would be achieved by applying the new management system (lean concept). More precise possibilities of imple- menting the lean methodology, which can be used to improve clinical processes. Materials and methods. The research was conducted by designing and using research questionnaires. Questionnaire structured by the author for the purposes of research in this paper. The questionnaire was sent to 472 employees’ mail addresses and was filled out by 91 employees. One of the reasons for the lower questionnaire return rate is the lack of familiarity of employees with the lean concept and its effects on the provision of health services. The return rate of referrals indicates the need for prior presentation and familiarization with the concept itself and its impact on business processes. A Likert scale was used to assess the opinions of healthcare services workers about the effects that would be achieved by applying the lean concept at the tertiary level. Medical wastes are shown in the oncology department (case analysis). We statistically processed the data obtained from the questionnaire using the SPSS 20.0 software package. The results are presented tabularly and graphically. The following methods are used in the paper: analysis method, inductive - deductive method, synthesis method, description method and proof method. Results. The results of the research showed that (analysis of health organizations that apply the lean concept) and the opinion of health workers about the possibility of applying the lean concept at the tertiary level of health care has a positive impact on improving the efficiency of the provision of health services. The interpretation of the correlation coefficient from the previous table indicates the exist- ence of a positive relationship between the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes (r=0.846; p<0,05). Based on the literature review and the obtained results, it was determined that there is no formalized concept with instructions on the implementation of clinical process improvement methods. There was a positive impact on improving the efficiency of the provision of health services, through the imple- mentation of modern methods. The review of the literature and the obtained results revealed that there is no formalized concept with instructions on the implementation of clinical process improvement methods. Conclusion The expected positive effects of the implementation of the lean concept at the tertiary lev- el of the health care of are manifested through: faster service delivery to patients, reduction of service waiting time and general improvement of business processes. The implementation of the lean concept would reduce medical waste, which would positively affect the quality of health care services
