La crise d’Oka dans les récits de Myra Cree et d’Yves Boisvert : Représentations en perspective

Cet article s’intéresse aux représentations de la crise d’Oka dans les récits de l’auteure mohawk Myra Cree et du poète québécois Yves Boisvert, tout particulièrement à la délimitation des perspectives auxquelles donne lieu le conflit. Il montre que si les écrits de Cree circonscrivent une perspective politique définie et communiquent une prise de position sans équivoque, les poèmes de Boisvert tiennent quant à eux davantage d’une déstabilisation du langage et du sens, tout en étant caractérisés par une certaine esthétisation de la révolte contre l’ordre établi. La symbolisation de la crise d’Oka dans les récits littéraires permet de mieux appréhender la façon dont l’événement – dont on commémore le vingtième anniversaire cette année – a marqué les imaginaires québécois et autochtones.This article examines the representations of the Oka crisis in the narratives of the Mohawk author Myra Cree and of the Québécois poet Yves Boisvert, more specifically the delimitation of perspectives created by the conflict. It shows that while Cree’s narrative defines a clear political perspective and take an unequivocal stance, Boisvert’s poetry has more to do with a destabilization of language and meaning while being characterised by an esthetization of rebellion against the establishment. The symbolization of the Oka crisis in literary narratives can help us to better comprehend how the event, of which we are commemorating the 20th anniversary this year, left its mark on the imagination of Québécois and Native peoples

Local Solidarity and Low-Income Families: Can a Clinical Approach Be Empowering?

This article seeks to determine whether a clinical approach can break down some of the barriers that exist between researchers and lowincome families and individuals, and whether such an approach can be empowering and raise awareness. Research conducted in Canada on alternative resources for low-income families highlights some of the characteristics and limitations of the clinical approach. While the clinical approach can foster closer links between researchers and disadvantaged people, it does not necessarily challenge structural inequalities or promote empowering practices. A definition of the clinical approach is compared and contrasted with the approach discussed in this paper
