Software reuse in a paralysis dataset based on categorical clustering and the Pearson distribution

AbstractSoftware reuse is the process of building software applications that make use of formerly developed software components. In this paper, we explain the benefits that can be obtained from using statistical procedures for prescribing medicines, especially in rural areas, which have limited resources available on hand. It should be noted that although the expert systems were successful in research, they never dominated the market when actual patient treatment was considered. The proposed methodology is compared with the categorical clustering technique. The Fenton and Melton Coupling Metric is considered for the evaluation of the statistic model. The reliability of this methodology is also considered

A case study to evaluate Jalaukavacharana in the management of Siraja Granthi with special reference to Varicocele

    Get PDF
Varicocele is state of varicosity of testicular veins. It is the more frequent and more discomforting condition seen in mostly in teens or in early adult life of males. Occurs in approximately 15-20% of all healthy fertile males and 40% of infertile males. Varicocele can have destructive effects on mobility, concentration and morphology of sperm and can reduce its DNA integrity and other functions. The treatment protocol in varicocele mainly includes laparoscopic ligation of the testicular veins and embolism of testicular vein under radiological control. The major drawback is surgical intervention. It is done only in advanced stage or when there is severe pain or remarkable oligospermia. There are chances of recurrence. There is no direct reference of varicocele as a separate disease in the classics. But Siraja Garnthi is quoted in all Brihatrayees which has similar etiopathogenesis and clinical presentations. The line of treatment mentioned is Siravyadha. Even Purvarupa of Vruddi mentioned by Acharya Sushruta in Vruddinidhna in Nidanastana, can be considered as varicocele. By considering the site and presentation, varicocele can be co-related with Siraja Garnthi of Vrushana Kosha and the treatment protocol to be followed is Siravyadha. Since the pampiniform plexus and testicular veins are of smaller diameter, Jalakavacharana can be considered. Hence, Jalaukavacharana is carried out to see the effectiveness in Varicocele

Software Reuse in Cardiology Related Medical Database Using K-Means Clustering Technique

Software technology based on reuse is identified as a process of designing software for the reuse purpose. The software reuse is a process in which the existing software is used to build new software. A metric is a quantitative indicator of an attribute of an item or thing. Reusability is the likelihood for a segment of source code that can be used again to add new functionalities with slight or no modification. A lot of research has been projected using reusability in reducing code, domain, requirements, design etc., but very little work is reported using software reuse in medical domain. An attempt is made to bridge the gap in this direction, using the concepts of clustering and classifying the data based on the distance measures. In this paper cardiologic database is considered for study. The developed model will be useful for Doctors or Paramedics to find out the patients level in the cardiologic disease, deduce the medicines required in seconds and propose them to the patient. In order to measure the reusability K means clustering algorithm is used.Comment: 5 pages. arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1212.031

Background: Corneal lacerations are the common cause of astigmatism that can prevent a good visual outcome. This was to evaluate Astigmatism in relation to the Length and Site of Corneal Lacerations.  Methods: This was a study in the Cornea clinic, Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital and Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad over a period from August 2012 to April 2014. The study group was 25 Patients of corneal lacerations. The data of age and sex, the length of corneal lacerations in terms of corneal diameter of 1/3rd and the site of the laceration in the cornea either central or peripheral was noted. All the corneal lacerations were sutured with interrupted 10-0 mono filament nylon. Suture removal was done over a period of 6 -12 weeks following surgery. Astigmatism (Diopters) was estimated by Keratometer after sutures removal. Results: Our study age distribution was 11(44.0%) in >10 -20 yrs, 11 (44.0%) in 21 – 30 yrs and 3(12.0%) in 31 -40 yrs. Sex distribution was 17(68.0%) of males and 8(32.0%) of females. The length of Corneal laceration in terms of corneal diameter was 1/3rd in 21(84.0%). The site of Laceration in the cornea was peripheral in 6(24.0%) and central in 19(76.0%). The Astigmatism in relation to Length and Site of Corneal Laceration showed 6.0D in 4(16.0%) and irregular astigmatism in 3(12.0%). The astigmatism in peripheral corneal lacerations of 1/3rd of corneal diameter was 1/3rd of corneal diameter was 2- 4.0D in 4.0% and 2-4.0D in 28.0%, 4-6.0D in 16.0%, >6.0D in 16.0% and irregular Astigmatism in 12.0% respectively. Time of sutures removal was 80.0% at 6-8 wks, 12.0% at 8-10 wks and 8.0% at 10 -12 wks. Conclusions: The corneal astigmatism depends upon the length and site of corneal laceration. Severity of astigmatism was directly proportion to the length of corneal laceration. The wound was nearer to the centre of the cornea, the greater was the astigmatism

DEVELOPMENT OF STABILITY INDICATING RP-HPLC METHOD FOR THE SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF AMBROXOL HYDROCHLORIDE AND LEVOCETIRIZINE DIHYDROCHLORIDE

A simple, precise and accurate method has been developed for simultaneous estimation of Ambroxol hydrochloride and Levocetirizine dihydrochloride. The proposed RP-HPLC method utilises Enable C18 G column (250 x 4.6mm, 5m), mobile phase consisting of Phosphate buffer pH 3.0: Methanol in the ratio of 20:80 (v/v) and UV detection at 236nm using a photodiode array detector. ambroxol hydrochloride and levocetirizine dihydrochloride were exposed to acidic, alkali, oxidative, thermal and photolytic stress conditions and the stressed samples were analysed by the proposed method. Peak homogeneity data of ambroxol hydrochloride and levocetirizine dihydrochloride in the stressed samples demonstrated the specificity of the method for their estimation in presence of degradants. The described method was linear over a range of 15 45 g/mL for ambroxol hydrochloride and 1 3 g/mL for levocetirizine dihydrochloride respectively. The method validation data showed excellent results for accuracy, precision, linearity, specificity, limit of detection, limit of quantification and robustness. The present method can be successfully used for routine quality control and stability studies
