Boosted Top Quark Signals for Heavy Vector Boson Excitations in a Universal Extra Dimension Model

In view of the fact that the n=1n = 1 Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes in a model with a Universal Extra Dimension (UED), could mimic supersymmetry signatures at the LHC, it is necessary to look for the n=2n = 2 KK modes, which have no analogues in supersymmetry. We discuss the possibility of searching for heavy n=2n = 2 vector boson resonances -- especially the g2g_2 -- through their decays to a highly-boosted top quark-antiquark pair using recently-developed top-jet tagging techniques in the hadronic channel. It is shown that ttˉt\bar{t} signals from the n=2n = 2 gluon resonance are as efficient a discovery mode at the LHC as dilepton channels from the γ2\gamma_2 and Z2Z_2 resonances.Comment: 22 pages, 8 embedded figure

IMPACT AND INFECTION OF SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) IN INDIA: CURRENT STATUS

Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) is an RNA virus, and the trade impact of the epidemic for India. In humans, the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 can occur via respiratory secretions. Nosocomial transmission has been described as an important driver in the epidemiology of SARS, MERS and has also been documented in COVID-19. In India, totally were recorded (59662, and 182142), such as active cases (39834, and 89995), cured (17846, and 86983) death rates (1981, and 5164) at 10th and 30th May 2020. The case report provides an insight into the COVID-19 current situation and represents a picture of the current state of the art in terms of public health impacts

Correlations due to localization in quantum eigenfunctions of disordered microwave cavities

Non-universal correlations due to localization are observed in statistical properties of experimental eigenfunctions of quantum chaotic and disordered microwave cavities. Varying energy {E} and mean free path {l} enable us to experimentally tune from localized to delocalized states. Large level-to-level Inverse Participation Ratio (IPR I_{2}) fluctuations are observed for the disordered billiards, whose distribution is strongly asymmetric about . The density auto-correlations of eigenfunctions are shown to decay exponentially and the decay lengths are experimentally determined. All the results are quantitatively consistent with calculations based upon nonlinear sigma-models.Comment: 4 pages, LaTex, 5 .jpg figures. J/ψ production via fragmentation at HERA

    Get PDF
We compute the contributions to large-pTJ/ψ production at DHEA coming from fragmentation of gluons and charm quarks. We find that the charm quark fragmentation contribution dominates over the direct production of J/ψ via photongluon fusion at large-pT, while the gluon fragmentation is negligibly small over the whole range of pT. An experimental study of pT distributions of J/ψ at HERA will providea direct probe of the charm quark fragmentation functions

Objective: The aim of this work was to develop and validate a simple Reverse Phase-High Performance Liquid Chromatography method for the simultaneous estimation of Clindamycin and Clotrimazole in pharmaceutical dosage forms. Methods: The mobile phase consists of phosphate buffer and Acetonitrile in the ratio of (48:52) with gradient programming, Hypersil BDS (250×4.6 mm,5µ) column used as stationary phase with a flow rate of 1 ml/min, injection volume 10 µl and the run time was 10 min. Detection wavelength was at 220 nm by using Photo Diode Array detector. Results: The retention times of Clindamycin and Clotrimazole were found to be 2.2 min and 5.7 min respectively. The method was validated according to ICH guidelines. Validation parameters like accuracy, precision, linearity, range, limit of detection, limit of quantification and robustness all were within the limits. The linearity responses of Clindamycin and Clotrimazole were found to be in the concentration ranges of 25-150 µg/ml and 50-300 µg/ml. The percentage recovery for both drugs was found in the range of 99-100%. The LOD & LOQ values for were found to be 1.29µg/ml and 3.93µg/ml and Clotrimazole were found to be 1.31µg/ml and 3.96 µg/ml, respectively. Conclusion: The results obtained are accurate and within the limits. Hence this method can be applicable for the estimation of Clindamycin and Clotrimazole in pharmaceutical dosage forms.Â

Physics Beyond the Standard Model and Cosmological Connections: A Summary from LCWS 06

    Get PDF
The International Linear Collider (ILC) is likely to provide us important insights into the sector of physics that may supersede our current paradigm viz., the Standard Model. In anticipation of the possibility that the ILC may come up in the middle of the next decade, several groups are vigourously investigating its potential to explore this new sector of physics. The Linear Collider Workshop in Bangalore (LCWS06) had several presentations of such studies which looked at supersymmetry, extra dimensions and other exotic possibilities which the ILC may help us discover or understand. Some papers also looked at the understanding of cosmology that may emerge from studies at the ILC. This paper summarises these presentations.Comment: 8 pages (including cover page) LaTeX, Summary talk presented at the International Linear Collider Workshop in Bangalore, India in March 200
