The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency whose role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The NDIS aims to provide sustainable long-term care and support for individuals with significant disabilities aged between 0 and 65 years. The scheme replaces fragmented state and territory disability funding with a national approach to disability support in Australia, drawing on an insurance model. The scheme aims to provide choice and control for individuals with disabilities. There are many challenges as well as opportunities for both individuals with disabilities and professionals with the deployment of the new scheme. No Full Tex
