    Using simulation as cervical and anal cytology teaching-learning strategy

    The current descriptive study is an experience report about the use of gynecological simulators in teaching and research activities developed in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Health at Cruz Alta University in Southern Brazil. The aim of the present study is to describe the use of gynecological simulator as cervical and anal cytological sample collection teaching-learning strategy, as well as to describe the protocol adopted in such procedure. The gynecological simulator is a useful instrument applied to the sample collection practice for cervical and anal cytological examination purposes, since it is a static dummy anatomically similar to the female body. Simulating the procedure allows students to train and improve skills required to the technique; however, the theoretical contextualization must precede the practice in the simulator in order to stimulate students to reflect on all aspects involved in the exam. The use of gynecological simulator is recommended as complementary tool in cytologic examination teaching-learning scenarios

    Policies and Programs for Cervical Cancer Prevention and Control in Public Health Services: An Integrative Review

    Aim: analyzing and assessing the scientific evidences about Health Services Administration through the practice of cervical cancer prevention programs and policies. Methodology: integrative literature review carried out in September/October 2017. Electronic search for publications in databases such as PubMed, Portal Periódicos CAPES, BVS, EBSCO and SciELO. Results and Discussion: eighteen articles approaching the topic were selected and their analyses resulted in the following thematic axes: Organization of cervical cancer prevention and control policies/programs, Follow-up and monitoring of actions taken and Quality Management of Cytopathological exams for diagnostic and treatment. There were differences between programs in the country, either in their recommendations or in their effectiveness. Final considerations: investments must be done in order to qualify technical procedures and involved health professionals, as well as to support health education in the target population

    Escolaridade e Inclusão Digital de Idosos de uma Estratégia Saúde da Família de um Município do Rio Grande do Sul: Estudo Qualitativo

    Objetivos: verificar a escolaridade dos idosos de uma Estratégia Saúde da Família e investigar a inclusão digital desses idosos. Método: pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa e descritiva. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas e analisadas pela análise de conteúdo temática. Resultados: do total de 10 idosos, em relação ao estudo, foi identificado um analfabeto e os demais estudaram de um a cinco anos. Nenhum deles acessa as redes sociais e todos dependem de alguma ajuda para utilizar o cartão bancário. Conclusão: foi possível observar a importância da educação e da inclusão digital voltada para a população idosa para promoção da interação social, estimulação mental e bem-estar, reduzindo o risco de isolamento social
