An Italian foreign policy of religious engagement: challenges and prospects

A new awareness of the role of religion in international relations has started to inform concrete policy discussions in several Western Ministries of Foreign Affairs under the heading of ‘religious engagement’ in foreign policy. Italy is no exception, but as the country which hosts the Holy See, it represents a special case. As the approach to religion found in the historical record of Italian foreign policy shows, Italy has a comparative advantage and could well develop a unique model of religious engagement by strengthening the central structures involved in religious matters and foreign policy, as well as by using the vast network of Rome-based religious non-state actors as a forum of consultation and policy advice

Garantire l’accesso all’insegnamento dello strumento musicale agli allievi con disabilità e con DSA nelle SMIM. Una ricerca nazionale

Promuovere nelle scuole secondarie di I grado un’azione didattica equa, inclusiva e di qualità, impegna attualmente la ricerca educativa poichè questo grado scolastico risulta l’anello più debole di tutto il processo di istruzione. La presente ricerca coinvolge tutte le scuole secondarie di I grado italiane a indirizzo musicale (SMIM) in cui il numero chiuso dei corsi di strumento musicale appare limitare l’accesso e la frequenza degli allievi con disabilità e con DSA. Anche in vista di una sempre maggiore diffusione di una cultura valutativa in grado di agire come vero e proprio fattore di inclusione, la ricerca intende analizzare le prassi di organizzazione della prova orientativoattitudinale e le procedure didattico-valutative attivate nelle SMIM. Lo spin off della ricerca consisterà nell’elaborazione di linee guida utili a orientare la governance delle SMIM in riferimento alle modalità di regolazione dell’accesso degli allievi con disabilità e con DSA ai corsi di strumento e all’impiego di pratiche didattico-valutative altamente inclusive.Promoting fair, inclusive and quality education in lower secondary schools currently engages research as this school grade is the weakest link within the entire educational process. This research involves all Italian secondary schools with a musical course (SMIM). In this schools, the limited number of students that can attend the instrumental teaching appears to limit the access and attendance of students with disabilities and SLD. Looking forward a ever greater diffusion of an evaluative culture capable of acting as a real factor of inclusion, the research aims to analyze both the practices of organizing the orientation-aptitude test and the teaching procedures activated in SMIMs. The spin-off of the research will consist in guidelines useful to orient the governance of SMIMs both about the access of students with disabilities and SLDs to instrument courses and about the use of an more inclusive education
