The presented study examines authoritative parenting and its associations with an adolescent\u27s success. There is a significant gap in the knowledge in regard to the impact of parental tough love on adolescents. It is important to determine the answer to the problem because it could help fill the significant gap in the knowledge. This research will help determine if an authoritative parenting style is effective in making an adolescent successful. It can help a parent decide how to or not to raise their children. The evidence found in this study can also be used to help inform parents of the positive and negative outcomes of authoritative parenting and whether it is the best parenting style to use. In addition, it could also be used to help expand on future studies including how members of the extended family\u27s parental approach affect an adolescent\u27s success. Findings from the study suggest how successful the theory of parental tough love is. I conducted this study to examine how authoritative parenting or parental tough love impacts adolescents. This study was done within the honors program at Tyler Junior College. I conducted a qualitative survey questionnaire. The survey was sent through email by the head of the honors department. No specific ethnicity, race, age, or gender was used. This study accomplished to determine the relationship between an authoritative parenting style and success related to academic performance, social and emotional outcomes, and performance outcomes in school activities. Based on this research I concluded that parental tough love or an authoritative parenting style nurtures successful adolescents. This study shows that kids raised by authoritative parents are more likely to become independent, self-reliant, socially accepted, academically successful, and well-behaved. They are less likely to report depression and anxiety, and less likely to engage in antisocial behavior. This style also results in kids who have better mental health overall

The so-called 'external partners' in the groups of corporations: A model of presentation in the consolidated statements

This paper studies, on the one hand, theories set out around the consideration of the external partners in the consolidated information and on the other hand, financial models that discuss the convenience of the separation or not of the different elements that form part of the liabilities of the balance sheet of the companies. A Model is proposed, the External Partners Model, which financially argues a certain presentation and processing of such and that, in our opinion, facilitates the analysis of the consolidated financial statements. This model is based on two hypotheses: (1) the economic and financial variables are not independent and (2) the value of the company depends, among other factors, of the type of sources that constitute their capital. These two hypotheses will imply that a separation should be included in the consolidated balance sheet between equity and liabilities as they are different sources of capital and then its separation will give relevant information to its users.External partners, consolidated statements, consolidated information

Diagnosing Market Power in Chile´s Electricity Industry

Chile’s electricity market is modeled as a Cournot duopoly with a competitive fringe. Due to the importance of hydro-storage resources (62% of total generation in 2000) particular care was given to the hydro scheduling issue. The model was estimated over a 1-month planning horizon using real cost and load data for April 2000. I found that the largest producer would be able to get markups that ranged from 66% to 76% (72% in average) when price elasticity was –1/3. In addition hydro resources are inefficiently allocated as production is shifted from high demand periods to low demand periods. Final equilibrium is sensitive to the value of the price elasticity of demand. Four different measures that could be implemented to reduce the potential for market power were analyzed: the divestiture of all or a fraction of Firm 1’s hydro capacity, the divestiture of all of its thermal plants and the role of contracts. Results indicated that since Firm 1 exercises its market power mainly through its hydro resources, the divestiture of the thermal plants would have a negligible effect in the degree of market power that is exercised, although total output and price are closer to the competitive equilibrium. The divestiture of hydro plants, although an effective measure in terms of reducing distortions, would probably be difficult to implement. Requiring producers to sign contracts in advance proved to be successful in reducing incentives to manipulate prices by the firms; in addition, I found that the more contracted is the firm, hydro scheduling is more efficient, meaning that more hydro production is allocated to periods of high demand and less to periods of low demand.
