ON THE ISSUE OF INSTITUTIONAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF TEACHER'S TRAINING
The paper attempts to outline some approaches to creating an organisational and theoretical and methodological basis of training teachers of the tomorrow world. The foundation of his/her professional training should be not only a subject specialisation. The focus in the teacher's training is on some essential questions of three fundamental elements in their harmonic unity: intellectual, aesthetic and moral. According to the authors, the school of the 21st century will need a teacher-anthropologist who is willing to work in the conditions when the upbringing has the truly regent function in the conditions of the globalising, rapidly changing world. One of the principal requirements for the teacher of the school of the 21st century is to care about the child's progress, about the comprehensive implementation of his/her potencies. A teacher whose good pedagogical training is combined with fundamental education and a skill of accompanying the child in his/her ascension to the apex of his/her personal progress. From the System of Work of a School Principal to Creation of a Pedagogical System
The paper deals with certain aspects of the system of work of a school principal of the worldwide known Pavlysh school that became the basis of a wholesome pedagogical system created by a prominent educator V.O. Sukhomlynsky. The key terms of the efficiency of this pedagogical system were the conditions that ensured high productivity of the educational process, the developed methods of various analyses of the school life, positive practice of long-term planning of the educational institution functioning, the trouble-shooting and functional approach in school management, clear signs of a united teaching staff and the model of formation of such staff, common values and standards adopted by all the subjects of school life etc
HEALTH-SUSTAINING ENVIRONMENT OF AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
The scientific community regards the health-sustaining environment as a cornerstone of modern and future school education. Health is the basic criterion, a sort of "social barometer", demonstrating the value of a human's life for the society. Health-sustaining educational technologies, aimed at formation of positive attitude to the education, help to facilitate the learning process. The proposed article examines organisational, methodological and technological foundations underlying the formation of the health-sustaining environment of an educational institution. The key elements are the following: provision of educational process participants with health-sustaining value orientations; health-sustaining activity and health-sustaining educational technologies aimed at study facilitation and academic overloads removal, which will help to preserve schoolchildren's health, their physical, mental, moral and social well-being. In a modern educational institution, children's health should be preserved and improved by a special service; the experimental work of one of this is represented by the researchers. Improved online event detection and differentiation by a simple gradient-based nonlinear transformation: Implications for the biomedical signal and image analysis
Despite recent success in advanced signal analysis technologies, simple and universal methods are still of interest in a variety of applications. Wearable devices including biomedical monitoring and diagnostic systems suitable for long-term operation are prominent examples, where simple online signal analysis and early event detection algorithms are required. Here we suggest a simple and universal approach to the online detection of events represented by abrupt bursts in long-term observational data series. We show that simple gradient-based transformations obtained as a product of the signal and its derivative lead to the improved accuracy of the online detection of any significant bursts in the observational data series irrespective of their particular shapes. We provide explicit analytical expressions characterizing the performance of the suggested approach in comparison with the conventional solutions optimized for particular theoretical scenarios and widely utilized in various signal analysis applications. Moreover, we estimate the accuracy of the gradient-based approach in the exact positioning of single ECG cycles, where it outperforms the conventional Pan-Tompkins algorithm in its original formulation, while exhibiting comparable detection effectiveness. Finally, we show that our approach is also applicable to the comparative analysis of lanes in electrophoretic gel images widely used in life sciences and molecular diagnostics like restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) and variable number tandem repeats (VNTR) methods.
