Energy Conservation and Saturation in Small-x Evolution
Important corrections to BFKL evolution are obtained from non-leading
contributions and from non-linear effects due to unitarisation or saturation.
It has been difficult to estimate the relative importance of these effects, as
NLO effects are most easily accounted for in momentum space while unitarisation
and saturation are easier in transverse coordinate space. An essential
component of the NLO contributions is due to energy conservation effects, and
in this paper we present a model for implementing such effects together with
saturation in Mueller's dipole evolution formalism. We find that energy
conservation severely dampens the small-x rise of the gluon density and, as a
consequence, the onset of saturation is delayed. Using a simple model for the
proton we obtain a reasonable qualitative description of the x-dependence of F2
at low Q^2 as measured at HERA even without saturation effects. We also give
qualitative descriptions of the energy dependence of the cross section for
gamma*-gamma* and gamma*-nucleus scattering
Gluon Distribution Functions in the kT-factorization Approach
At small x, the effects of finite transverse momenta of partons inside a
hadron become increasingly important, especially in analyses of jets and
heavy-quark production. These effects can be systematically accounted for in a
formalism based on kT-factorization and unintegrated distribution functions. We
present results for the unintegrated distribution function, together with the
corresponding integrated one, obtained within the framework of the Linked
Dipole Chain model. Comparisons are made to results obtained within other
approaches
Uncertainties on Central Exclusive Scalar Luminosities from the unintegrated gluon distributions
In a previous report we used the Linked Dipole Chain model unintegrated gluon
densities to investigate the uncertainties in the predictions for central
exclusive production of scalars at hadron colliders. Here we expand this
investigation by also looking at other parameterizations of the unintegrated
gluon density, and look in more detail on the behavior of these at small k_T.
We confirm our conclusions that the luminosity function for central exclusive
production is very sensitive to this behavior. However, we also conclude that
the available densities based on the CCFM and LDC evolutions are not
constrained enough to give reliable predictions even for inclusive Higgs
production at the LHC
Search for Chargino and Neutralino Production at sqrt(s) = 192-209 GeV at LEP
Approximately 438 pb-1 of e+e- data from the OPAL detector, taken with the
LEP collider running at centre-of-mass energies of 192-209 Gev, are analyzed to
search for evidence of chargino pair production, e+e- -> tilde chi^+_1 tilde
chi^-_1, or neutralino associated production, e+e- -> tilde chi^0_2 tilde
chi^0_1. Limits are set at the 95% confidence level on the product of the
cross-section for the process e+e- -> tilde chi^+_1 tilde chi^-_1 and its
branching ratios to topologies containing jets and missing energy, of jest with
a lepton and missing energy, and on the product of the cross-section for e+e-
-> tilde chi^0_2 tilde chi^0_1 and its branching ratio to jets. R-parity
conservation is assumed throughout this paper. When these results are
interpreted in the context of the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard
Model, limits are also set on the masses of the tilde chi^+-_1, tilde chi^0_1
and tilde chi^0_2, and regions of the parameter space of the model are ruled
out. Nearly model-independent limits are also set at the 95% confidence level
on sigma(e+e- -> tilde chi^+_1 tilde chi^-_1) with the assumption that each
chargino decays via a W boson, and on sigma(e+e- -> tilde chi^0_2 tilde
chi^0_1) with the tilde chi^0_2 assumed to decay via a Z^0.Comment: 33 pages, 13 figures, Submitted to Eur Phys J.
Fluxes of atmospheric muons underwater depending on the small-x gluon density
The prompt muon contribution to the deep-sea atmospheric muon flux can serve
as a tool for probing into the small-x feature of the gluon density inside of a
nucleon, if the muon energy threshold could be lifted to 100 TeV. The prompt
muon flux underwater is calculated taking into consideration predictions of
recent charm production models in which the small-x behaviour of the gluon
distribution is probed. We discuss the possibility of distinguishing the PQCD
models of the charm production differing in the small-x exponent of the gluon
distribution, in measurements of the muon flux at energies 10-100 TeV with

A second workshop on small x physics, within the small x collaboration, was held in Lund in June 2002 with the aim of over-viewing recent theoretical progress in this area and summarizing the experimental status. This paper is dedicated to the memory of Jan Kwiecinski, who died unexpectedly on August 29, 2003. Small x phenomenology. Summary and status
The aim of this paper is to summarize the general status of our understanding of small-x physics. It is based on presentations and discussions at an informal meeting in this topic held in Lund, Sweden, in March 2001. This document also marks the founding of an informal collaboration between experimentalists and theoreticians with a special interest in small-x physics. This paper is dedicated to the memory of Bo Andersson, who died unexpectedly from a heart attack on March 4th, 2002. GENERAL ASPECTS OF NLP IN TEACHING LANGUAGES
This article is focus on NLP as a tool helping to improve personal excellence in teaching languages. NLP states that learning begins in the students’ frame of reference and thus, it is important for teachers to increase their interpersonal skills and ability to recognize it. A map of how language operates is drawn by the Meta Model - a tool for a fuller understanding of what people say -, which deals with the concepts of surface structure and deep structure. The meta programs deal with deletions, distortions and generalisations which appear in language during communication. Establish rapport is a helpful method to create favourable teaching atmosphere and humanising teaching is a way to improve students’ performance
