This information session facilitated by David Nash, MD, MBA, and Alexis Skoufalos, EdD, introduces participants and viewers to the AAMC’s “Teaching for Quality (Te4Q)” program, hosted by Jefferson’s Patient Safety Leadership Institute. Te4Q is a faculty development program designed to help clinical faculty effectively teach and implement quality improvement and patient safety education initiatives. This session provides an overview of the program including the initial 1 ½ day workshop, which will be held on the Jefferson campus on Thursday and Friday, November 20 and 21, 2014. This enterprise-wide endeavor is being jointly sponsored by TJU/TJUH, thanks to the generosity of Provost and SKMC Dean Mark Tykocinski and TJUH President David McQuaid. Te4Q is designed to be implemented over a 7-12 month timeframe including: pre-work (self-assessment, pre-program reading, and development of a basic program idea to develop as part of the training); attendance at the Nov 20-21 onsite workshop (1.5 days of interactive education and training); an active post-workshop period of 3-5 months (project development and launch; implementation; collaboration and evaluation; and presentation and dissemination of the results). Participants will receive a certificate of completion (and commensurate continuing education credits in their respective disciplines) after successfully working through the entire program. The program is limited to 30 participants. Prospective participants must submit a completed application by Friday, October 10
