Polarized parton distributions from NLO QCD analysis of world DIS and SIDIS data
The combined analysis of polarized DIS and SIDIS data is performed in NLO
QCD. The new parametrization on polarized PDFs is constructed. The
uncertainties on PDFs and their first moments are estimated applying the
modified Hessian method.
The especial attention is paid to the impact of novel SIDIS data on the
polarized distributions of light sea and strange quarks. In particular, the
important question of polarized sea symmetry is studied in comparison with the
latest results on this subject
Chiral And Parity Anomalies At Finite Temperature And Density
Two closely related topological phenomena are studied at finite density and
temperature. These are chiral anomaly and Chern-Simons term. By using different
methods it is shown that is the crucial point for Chern-Simons at
zero temperature. So when --influence disappears and we get
the usual Chern-Simons term. On the other hand when the
Chern-Simons term vanishes because of non-zero density of background fermions.
It is occurs that the chiral anomaly doesn't depend on density and temperature.
The connection between parity anomalous Chern-Simons and chiral anomaly is
generalized on finite density. These results hold in any dimension as in
abelian, so as in nonabelian cases
The Fokker-Planck equation for bistable potential in the optimized expansion
The optimized expansion is used to formulate a systematic approximation
scheme to the probability distribution of a stochastic system. The first order
approximation for the one-dimensional system driven by noise in an anharmonic
potential is shown to agree well with the exact solution of the Fokker-Planck
equation. Even for a bistable system the whole period of evolution to
equilibrium is correctly described at various noise intensities.Comment: 12 pages, LATEX, 3 Postscript figures compressed an
Gauge invariant derivative expansion of the effective action at finite temperature and density and the scalar field in 2+1 dimensions
A method is presented for the computation of the one-loop effective action at
finite temperature and density. The method is based on an expansion in the
number of spatial covariant derivatives. It applies to general background field
configurations with arbitrary internal symmetry group and space-time
dependence. Full invariance under small and large gauge transformations is
preserved without assuming stationary or Abelian fields nor fixing the gauge.
The method is applied to the computation of the effective action of spin zero
particles in 2+1 dimensions at finite temperature and density and in presence
of background gauge fields. The calculation is carried out through second order
in the number of spatial covariant derivatives. Some limiting cases are worked
out.Comment: 34 pages, REVTEX, no figures. Further comments adde
Self-Similar Factor Approximants
The problem of reconstructing functions from their asymptotic expansions in
powers of a small variable is addressed by deriving a novel type of
approximants. The derivation is based on the self-similar approximation theory,
which presents the passage from one approximant to another as the motion
realized by a dynamical system with the property of group self-similarity. The
derived approximants, because of their form, are named the self-similar factor
approximants. These complement the obtained earlier self-similar exponential
approximants and self-similar root approximants. The specific feature of the
self-similar factor approximants is that their control functions, providing
convergence of the computational algorithm, are completely defined from the
accuracy-through-order conditions. These approximants contain the Pade
approximants as a particular case, and in some limit they can be reduced to the
self-similar exponential approximants previously introduced by two of us. It is
proved that the self-similar factor approximants are able to reproduce exactly
a wide class of functions which include a variety of transcendental functions.
For other functions, not pertaining to this exactly reproducible class, the
factor approximants provide very accurate approximations, whose accuracy
surpasses significantly that of the most accurate Pade approximants. This is
illustrated by a number of examples showing the generality and accuracy of the
factor approximants even when conventional techniques meet serious
difficulties.Comment: 22 pages + 11 ps figure
Dependence of Variational Perturbation Expansions on Strong-Coupling Behavior. Inapplicability of delta-Expansion to Field Theory
We show that in applications of variational theory to quantum field theory it
is essential to account for the correct Wegner exponent omega governing the
approach to the strong-coupling, or scaling limit. Otherwise the procedure
either does not converge at all or to the wrong limit. This invalidates all
papers applying the so-called delta-expansion to quantum field theory.Comment: Author Information under

(Borel) convergence of the variationally improved mass expansion and the O(N) Gross-Neveu model mass gap
We reconsider in some detail a construction allowing (Borel) convergence of
an alternative perturbative expansion, for specific physical quantities of
asymptotically free models. The usual perturbative expansions (with an explicit
mass dependence) are transmuted into expansions in 1/F, where
for while for m \lsim \Lambda,
being the basic scale and given by renormalization group
coefficients. (Borel) convergence holds in a range of which corresponds to
reach unambiguously the strong coupling infrared regime near , which
can define certain "non-perturbative" quantities, such as the mass gap, from a
resummation of this alternative expansion. Convergence properties can be
further improved, when combined with expansion (variationally improved
perturbation) methods. We illustrate these results by re-evaluating, from
purely perturbative informations, the O(N) Gross-Neveu model mass gap, known
for arbitrary from exact S matrix results. Comparing different levels of
approximations that can be defined within our framework, we find reasonable
agreement with the exact result.Comment: 33 pp., RevTeX4, 6 eps figures. Minor typos, notation and wording

Azimuthal asymmetries in lepton-pair production at a fixed-target experiment using the LHC beams (AFTER)
A multi-purpose fixed-target experiment using the proton and lead-ion beams
of the LHC was recently proposed by Brodsky, Fleuret, Hadjidakis and Lansberg,
and here we concentrate our study on some issues related to the spin physics
part of this project (referred to as AFTER). We study the nucleon spin
structure through and processes with a fixed-target experiment using
the LHC proton beams, for the kinematical region with 7 TeV proton beams at the
energy in center-of-mass frame of two nucleons GeV. We calculate
and estimate the azimuthal asymmetries of unpolarized and
dilepton production processes in the Drell--Yan continuum region and at the
-pole. We also calculate the , and
azimuthal asymmetries of and dilepton production
processes with the target proton and deuteron longitudinally or transversally
polarized in the Drell--Yan continuum region and around resonances region.
We conclude that it is feasible to measure these azimuthal asymmetries,
consequently the three-dimensional or transverse momentum dependent parton
distribution functions (3dPDFs or TMDs), at this new AFTER facility.Comment: 15 pages, 40 figures. Version accepted for publication in EPJ
The cos 2 phi asymmetry of Drell-Yan and J/psi production in unpolarized ppbar scattering
We investigate the cos 2 phi azimuthal asymmetry in Drell--Yan and J/psi
production from unpolarized ppbar scattering at GSI-HESR energies. The
contribution to this asymmetry arising from the leading-twist Boer-Mulders
function h_1^perp(x, k_T^2), which describes a correlation between the
transverse momentum and the transverse spin of quarks in an unpolarized hadron,
is explicitly evaluated, and predictions for the GSI-HESR kinematic regime are
presented. We show that the cos 2 phi asymmetry is quite sizable both on the
J/psi peak and in the Drell-Yan continuum region. Therefore these processes may
offer an experimentally viable access to the Boer-Mulders function in the early
unpolarized stage of GSI experiments.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, to be published in Eur. Phys.
The Deuteron Spin-dependent Structure Function g1d and its First Moment
We present a measurement of the deuteron spin-dependent structure function
g1d based on the data collected by the COMPASS experiment at CERN during the
years 2002-2004. The data provide an accurate evaluation for Gamma_1^d, the
first moment of g1d(x), and for the matrix element of the singlet axial
current, a0. The results of QCD fits in the next to leading order (NLO) on all
g1 deep inelastic scattering data are also presented. They provide two
solutions with the gluon spin distribution function Delta G positive or
negative, which describe the data equally well. In both cases, at Q^2 = 3
(GeV/c)^2 the first moment of Delta G is found to be of the order of 0.2 - 0.3
in absolute value.Comment: fits redone using MRST2004 instead of MRSV1998 for G(x), correlation
