    Solution of fractional Drinfeld-Sokolov-Wilson equation using Homotopy perturbation transform method

    In this article, the approximate solutions of the non-linear Drinfeld-Sokolov-Wilson equation with fractional time derivative have been obtained. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. He’s polynomial is used to tackle the nonlinearity which arise in our considered problems. A time fractional nonlinear partial differential equation has been computed numerically. The numerical procedures illustrate the effectiveness and reliability of the method. Effects of fractional order time derivatives on the solutions for different particular cases are presented through graphs

    Knowledge, attitude and practices of pregnant women for antenatal care during COVID-19 pandemic

    Background: The antenatal care had suffered across the globe during COVID-19 pandemic. This study was undertaken to elicit knowledge, attitude and practices adopted by pregnant women for antenatal care during the pandemic. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was undertaken (N=126) at a purposively selected community health center Nalagarh of Solan district in north India. Self-administered pilot tested standardized questionnaire was employed. Results: 46 percent of women were in age group of 21-25 years and had secondary level of education. 60 percent were primigravida. 47 percent of pregnant women significantly undertook antenatal care from civil hospital and 33 percent availed these services from the public health facility of the level of Primary Health Centre or Community Health Centre, χ2 (1, N=126) =7.7, p=0.02. All pregnant women had taken complete antenatal care for four times and as per schedule. Only one tested positive for the disease COVID-19. Majority of the pregnant women studied were asymptomatic. The participants had the knowledge about symptoms of disease and COVID-19 appropriate behavior. About 25 percent also had difficulty in approaching the public health sector due to lack of accessible transportation. 18 and 33 percent of pregnant women suffered from stress and anxiety respectively. All undertook iron and folic acid along with tetanus prophylaxis. 21 and 18 percent practiced wearing of face mask and frequent hand washing with soap respectively. Conclusions: COVID pandemic did not hinder antenatal care adopted by pregnant women. Lockdown and isolation were important perceived worrisome aspects of the disease

    Influence of naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and integrated nutrient management (INM) on yield and economics attributes of chilli (Capsicum annuum L.)

    The present experiment was conducted to study the response of naphthalene acetic acid NAA and integrated nutrient management on yield and yield attributes as well as and economics of chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) with four levels of NAA (0 ppm, 25 ppm, 50 ppm and 75 ppm) and five levels of vermicompost (VC) along with RDF (V0-100% Recommended dose of fertilizer i.e. 120:60:60 Kg N P K /ha ), V1-100% N through Vermicompost, V2-75% N through VC + 25% (RDF), V3-50% N through VC + 50% (RDF) , V4-25% N through VC + 75% (RDF), having 20 treatment combinations. The results revealed that the combine application of 50 ppm NAA and 100% N through vermicomposti.e. P2V1 performed well in respect of fruit length (8.73 cm), fruit diameter (1.46 cm) and fruit weight (2.91 g) while the application of NAA 50 ppm + 50% N through vermicompost along with 50% RDF i.e. P2V3 gave significantly (P=0.05) maximum number of fruits/plant (73.86) and fruit yield per hectare (121.20 q) with higher gross income (Rs.2,66,640.00/ ha), net profit (Rs.1,98,946.00/ ha) and benefit - cost ratio (2.94). Therefore, it can be concluded that the combine effect of NAA 50 ppm along with 50 % N through vermicompost +50% inorganic fertilizers (RDF) gave better result regarding growth and yield attributes and also generated maximum gross income, net return and B:C ratio while the next best treatment was application of NAA 75 ppm along with 25 % N through vermicompost + 75 % inorganic fertilizers (RDF)

    Models to study atherosclerosis: a mechanistic insight

    The recent failure of candidate drugs like cholesterol ester transfer protein (CETP) and acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) inhibitors calls for a revised approach for screening anti-atherosclerotic drugs and development of new models of atherosclerosis. For this it is important to understand the mechanism of the disease in a particular model. Models simultaneously showing hyperlipidemia, inflammation and associated complications of diabetes and hypertension will serve the purpose better as they mimic the actual clinical condition. Besides this, analyzing candidate molecules in vivo, in vitro and at various levels of atherosclerosis progression is important. Models based on various cells and process involved in atherosclerosis should be used for screening candidate molecules. The challenge lies in bridging the gap between genetically friendly small animal and human-like bigger animal models. Sequencing of the mouse and human genome, development of a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) database and in silico quantitative trait loci (QTL) linkage analysis may enhance the understanding of atherosclerosis and help develop new therapeutic targets

    Hydrologic behaviour of Tapi river catchment using morphometric analysis

    The study area Tapi River catchment covers 63,922.91 Sq.Km comprising of 5 five Sub-catchments: Purna river catchment (18,473.6 sq.km) Upper Tapi catchment (10,530.3 sq. km), Middle Tapi catchment (4,997.3 sq km), Girna river catchment (10,176.9 sq.km) and lower Tapi catchment (19,282.5 sq.km.). The drainage network of 5 Sub-catchments was delineated using remote sensing data. The morphometric analysis of 5 Sub-catchments has been carried out using GIS softwares – ArcMap. The drainage network showed that the terrain exhibits dendritic to sub-dendritic drainage pattern. Stream orders ranged from sixth to seventh order. Drainage density varied between 0.39 and 0.43km/ km2and had very coarse to coarse drainage texture. The relief ratio ranged from 0.003 to 0.007. The mean bifurcation ratio varied from 4.24 to 6.10 and falls under normal basin category. The elongation ratio showed that all catchment elongated pattern. Thus, the remote sensing techniques proved to be a competent tool in morphometric analysis

    EVALUATION OF QOS (QUALITY OF SERVICES) BY LOG FRAME ANALYSIS (LFA) AND OCULAR MORBIDITY IN SCHOOL CHILDREN OF CHANDIGARH

    Objective: To evaluate the school vision health program being run by the Chandigarh administration for students, under National Program for Control of Blindness.- To assess the visual acuity disorders in them.Methods: The population based cross sectional study was done in fourteen schools of Chandigarh. Chandigarh was divided in four quarters. Sampling frame comprised of Government schools. The eye component of a school health program so run in government schools, by Chandigarh administration was evaluated by LFA. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS13 and Epi Info 2000.Results: A total of 5404 children were studied, out of which 2801(51.83%) were boys and 2603(48.16%) were girls. Girls in our study showed a higher prevalence of defective visual acuity among girls 322(5.95%). Female preponderance was observed in all age groups.Evaluation of school health program showed that 51(36%) subjects were of the opinion that all students were examined, 25 (17.86%) told that more than 20% of students were referred to GMCH-32 for further management. All the interviewers agreed that manpower in school health team was adequate.Conclusion: Low compliance with ocular morbidity was evident as less number of students contacted the eye health physician even after being referred. There is a need to spread awareness pertaining to eye health that can be using local media or by health care workers. More over emphasis has not only to be on therapeutic aspect but prevention too has to be given importance.Keywords: Log frame analysis, Ocular morbidity.Ă‚
