Stroke Clinical Order Pathway Education (SCOPE) for APNs

More than 795,000 American adults have a stroke annually. About 610,000 are first or new strokes. Almost 140,000 Americans of all ages die of a stroke every year (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2017). Stroke requires emergent treatment and an exact clinical order pathway to ensure better patient outcomes and compliance with the standards of care defined by regulatory bodies such as the Joint Commission (TJC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). While stroke management teams often include an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), there is a lack of a standardized protocol across New Jersey (NJ) and ambiguity about the role of APNs managing stroke. This quality improvement educational initiative, Stroke Clinical Order Pathways Education (SCOPE) for APNs, was conducted for APNs in NJ to emphasize the importance of the stroke clinical pathway order sets (Appendix A) to improve quality of care for stroke patients and to clearly define the role of APNs. This Doctor of Nursing (DNP) educational initiative utilized the American Heart Association national guidelines for stroke management and current CMS and TJC criteria for the stroke core measures (Appendix B) quality reporting and combined these strategies to create an evidence-based stroke education initiative for APNs. Between November 2017 and February 2018, the SCOPE for APNs was presented at four sites in northern NJ. The participants attended a one-hour educational session that included a pre-test and post-test (Appendix C), and program evaluation (Appendix D). In total, 28 APNs and 27 RNs attended these sessions

The primary objective of this paper is to analyze how arbitration has evolved as an alternative to dispute resolution apart from regular and cumbersome court proceedings. The researcher has further dealt with the relevance of an arbitration clause in the contract. How one need to be cautious while drafting an arbitration agreement. In this paper researcher has extensively discussed the essential elements of an arbitration agreement and when an agreement will be considered to satisfy the provisions lay down under section 7 of the Arbitration Act, 1996. The researcher has also traced down the trend followed in India while interpreting the existence of valid arbitration agreement. The relevance of words may and shall use in the agreement and what impact it has on the validity of the contract. In this paper researcher has confined her discussion to the importance drafting arbitration agreement in Indian context and has not extended her research to other jurisdictions

Tuning the torque-speed characteristics of bacterial flagellar motor to enhance the swimming speed

In a classic paper, Edward Purcell analysed the dynamics of flagellated bacterial swimmers and derived a geometrical relationship which optimizes the propulsion efficiency. Experimental measurements for wild-type bacterial species E. coli have revealed that they closely satisfy this geometric optimality. However, the dependence of the flagellar motor speed on the load and more generally the role of the torque-speed characteristics of the flagellar motor is not considered in Purcell's original analysis. Here we derive a tuned condition representing a match between the flagella geometry and the torque-speed characteristics of the flagellar motor to maximize the bacterial swimming speed for a given load. This condition is independent of the geometric optimality condition derived by Purcell and interestingly this condition is not satisfied by wild-type E. coli which swim 2-3 times slower than the maximum possible speed given the amount of available motor torque. Our analysis also reveals the existence of an anomalous propulsion regime, where the swim speed increases with increasing load (drag). Finally, we present experimental data which supports our analysis

Employer Branding: A Strategic Dimension for Employee Retention

Employer branding is a long term strategy to manage perception and awareness of employees, potential employees and related stakeholders in regards of a particular organization. Employee brand is an organizational image which is in the mind of the current employees as a ‘great place to work’. Now the Employer Brand is a brand management in HR perspective to attain, attract, engage and retain employees of the firm. Employer brand is a strategy which helps to retain the employees and try to minimize the employee attrition in the organization. In the twenty-first century, sustainable power source limit is developing exponentially consistently. The photovoltaic (PV) framework is the most prevailing innovation among every single inexhaustible innovation as far as scattering at purchaser levels. The fundamental purpose of qualification between this framework and a customary age unit is that these PV frameworks are generally associated at a low voltage level and are spread sporadically all through power circulation frameworks. The impacts of fast PV age variety should be appropriately explored. Productive coordination is required that considers the opportune activity of the said gadgets as per their reaction celerity. Coordination likewise needs to keep up ideal cost, ideal voltage levels, and long haul soundness. In this manner, a streamlining procedure is required to keep up the planned administration framework. In this work, it begins with building up a motor and displaying pay gadgets to research plausible basic voltage standard rebellious situations with PV infiltration and variety. Assessing these situations considering voltage infringement conditions and outlining purposes of intrigue are imperative advances

A Null-model Exhibiting Synchronized Dynamics in Uncoupled Oscillators

The phenomenon of phase synchronization of oscillatory systems arising out of feedback coupling is ubiquitous across physics and biology. In noisy, complex systems, one generally observes transient epochs of synchronization followed by non-synchronous dynamics. How does one guarantee that the observed transient epochs of synchronization are arising from an underlying feedback mechanism and not from some peculiar statistical properties of the system? This question is particularly important for complex biological systems where the search for a non-existent feedback mechanism may turn out be an enormous waste of resources. In this article, we propose a null model for synchronization motivated by expectations on the dynamical behaviour of biological systems to provide a quantitative measure of the confidence with which one can infer the existence of a feedback mechanism based on observation of transient synchronized behaviour. We demonstrate the application of our null model to the phenomenon of gait synchronization in free-swimming nematodes, C. elegans

Boron-potassium nitrate (B-KNO3)-based compositions have been used as an effective ignitersystem for solid rocket propellants. A systematic study was undertaken to generate exhaustivedata on B-KNO3 (25:65)-based ignition systems with cellulosic binders, viz., nitrocellulose, ethylcellulose and plasticised ethyl cellulose. In addition, detailed investigations were carried outwith PEC as binder by varying its concentration from 2-10 per cent in the same system. Theexperimental compositions (B-KNO3: binder) were evaluated by closed-vessel firing, thermalanalysis, sensitivity, mechanical properties and cal-val determination. The binders significantlyinfluenced the sensitivity and combustion behaviour of B-KNO3 compositions. The compositionwith nitrocellulose as binder produced high flame temperature and cal-val as compared to ethylcellulose and plasticised ethyl cellulose-based compositions. The data indicated that thecalculated flame temperature for all compositions was in the range 2716 K to 2957 K. As theplasticised ethyl cellulose content increased from 2 per cent to 10 per cent, the maximum pressureincreased with decrease in heat of combustion
