A review on bacterial stalk rot disease of maize caused by Dickeya zeae
Bacterial stalk rot of maize caused by Dickeya zeae previously known as E. chrysanthemi pv. zeaehave economic importance of reduced crop yield up to 98.8%. The disease is more prevalent in rainy season in India. The bacterium prefers high temperature and moisture for their growth result is plant toppled down within week. The pathogen has wide host range (maize, rice, tomato, chilli and brinjal etc.) which help to pathogen for long survival in soil. The bacterium characterized by biochemical and molecular tactics. In present, Pel gene and rDNA specific primers are frequently used for D. zeae characterization. The pathogen significantly controls under in vitro and in vivo condition via bleaching powder (drenching of 100 ppm) and antibiotics. The present studies generated data on pathogen nomenclature, etiology, epidemiology, host range, pathogen survival, biochemical, physiological and molecular characterization, germplasm evaluation and disease management
Theoretical Study of Electron-Phonon Interaction in ZrB2 and TaB2
Using full-potential, density-functional-based methods we have studied
electron-phonon interaction in ZrB2 and TaB2 in P6/mmm crystal structure. Our
results for phonon density of states and Eliashberg function show that the
electron-phonon coupling in ZrB2 is much weaker than in TaB2. In particular, we
find that the average electron-phonon coupling constant \lambda is equal to
0.14 for ZrB2 and 0.72 for TaB2. The solutions of the isotropic Eliashberg gap
equation indicate no superconductivity for ZrB2 but a superconducting
transition temperature Tc of around 12 K for TaB2 with \mu* ~0.16.Comment: Increased q points from 12 to 28, added 3 figs and a section on

Influence of Bicurative on Processibility of Composite Propellant
A new series of composite propellant compositions, based on ammonium perchlorate,hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene and having metallic fuel as aluminium powder, have beendeveloped. Pressure cast-cum-cured compositions have also been developed with toluenediisocyanate (TDI), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), and a mixture of both curatives, i.e., TDIand IPDI, respectively, to study their effect on processibility, mechanical and ballistic propertiesof the compositions. The data indicate that the compositions based on bicurative have a potlife of 7 - 8 h, viscosity build up is from 13280 poise to 14080 poise after 4 h, and the smoothprocessibility of the slurry is enhanced. Further, the mechanical properties are in the range12.2 kg/cm2, 40.2 kg/cm2, and 40.2 per cent for tensile strength, E-modulus and elongation, respectively, and burn rate is almost the same, i.e., 16 ±0.5 mm/s
