Adaptive clustering procedure for continuous gravitational wave searches
In hierarchical searches for continuous gravitational waves, clustering of
candidates is an important postprocessing step because it reduces the number of
noise candidates that are followed-up at successive stages [1][7][12]. Previous
clustering procedures bundled together nearby candidates ascribing them to the
same root cause (be it a signal or a disturbance), based on a predefined
cluster volume. In this paper, we present a procedure that adapts the cluster
volume to the data itself and checks for consistency of such volume with what
is expected from a signal. This significantly improves the noise rejection
capabilities at fixed detection threshold, and at fixed computing resources for
the follow-up stages, this results in an overall more sensitive search. This
new procedure was employed in the first Einstein@Home search on data from the
first science run of the advanced LIGO detectors (O1) [11].Comment: 11 pages, 9 figures, 2 tables; v1: initial submission; v2: journal

Substituted Azoles as Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors Activity
This Review article gives an overview of substituted azole based synthetic medicine and their significance application in treating various ailments. The chemical reactions of azoles with other heterocyclic compounds/chemical reagents produce a lot of new substituted molecules, which have plentiful biological actions and potential pharmaceutical applications. Azoles is considered a major class of heterocyclics and worldwide researchers have put great efforts in studying this nucleus in order to design and synthesize various new derived of imidazole and hybrid molecules with the identification of their significant role in many classes of drugs such as antiviral including anti-HIV. Azoles has inspiring molecular geometric structure that offers a suitable skeleton to build newer chemical entities which has encouraged medicinal chemists to design and synthesis of novel and effective molecule as potential therapeutic agents. However, there is an urgent need to study the mechanism of action at molecular level of several pharmacological actions resulting from azoles scaffold through modern methods to furnish safer and effective new molecules for the treatment of various diseases
Performance Issues and Behavioral Analysis of Routing Protocols in MANETs
Abstract Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is an autonomous system of mobile nodes connected by wireless links. Infrastructure-less environment and frequently changing topology due to mobility of nodes makes routing a difficult task. There is no centralized control such as base station and can be set up according to demand wherever required. Effective routing protocol is required for finding the optimum path as per the application requirement. In this paper, analysis has been carried out about various basic routing protocols techniques, issues related to them especially in MANETs routing and performance comparison of different proposed approaches in terms of different network performance parameters
A REVIEW ON LEARNING AND MEMORY
Learning is defined as the acquisition of information and skills and subsequent retention of the information is called memory. Dementia is one of the ages related mental problems and characteristic symptom of various neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s disease which is age related. It is a progressive and neurodegenerative disorder. The analysis of the anatomical and physical bases of learning and memory is one of the great successes of modern neuroscience. The action of drugs on memory is more or less specific and serious depending on the memory system affected. So the present study is therefore focused on the various types of learning and memory. Key Words: Learning, Memory, Dementia
Results from an Einstein@Home search for continuous gravitational waves from Cassiopeia A, Vela Jr. and G347.3
We report results of the most sensitive search to date for periodic
gravitational waves from Cassiopeia A, Vela Jr. and G347.3 with frequency
between 20 and 1500 Hz. The search was made possible by the computing power
provided by the volunteers of the Einstein@Home project and improves on
previous results by a factor of 2 across the entire frequency range for all
targets. We find no significant signal candidate and set the most stringent
upper limits to date on the amplitude of gravitational wave signals from the
target population, corresponding to sensitivity depths between 54 and 83 , depending on the
target and the frequency range. At the frequency of best strain sensitivity,
near Hz, we set 90% confidence upper limits on the gravitational wave
intrinsic amplitude of , probing ellipticity values
for Vela Jr. as low as , assuming a distance of 200 pc
Search for Continuous Gravitational Waves from the Central Compact Objects in Supernova Remnants Cassiopeia A, Vela Jr. and G347.3-0.5
We perform a sub-threshold follow-up search for continuous
nearly-monochromatic gravitational waves from the central compact objects
associated with the supernova remnants Vela Jr., Cassiopeia A, and SNR
G347.30.5. Across the three targets, we investigate the most promising ~
10,000 combinations of gravitational wave frequency and frequency derivative
values, based on the results from an Einstein@Home search of the LIGO O1
observing run data, dedicated to these objects. The selection threshold is set
so that a signal could be confirmed using the newly released O2 run LIGO data.
In order to achieve best sensitivity we perform two separate follow-up
searches, on two distinct stretches of the O2 data. Only one candidate survives
the first O2 follow-up investigation, associated with the central compact
object in SNR G347.3-0.5, but it is not conclusively confirmed. In order to
assess a possible astrophysical origin we use archival X-ray observations and
search for amplitude modulations of a pulsed signal at the putative rotation
frequency of the neutron star and its harmonics. This is the first extensive
electromagnetic follow-up of a continuous gravitational wave candidate
performed to date. No significant associated signal is identified. New X-ray
observations contemporaneous with the LIGO O3 run will enable a more sensitive
search for an electromagnetic counterpart. A focused gravitational wave search
in O3 data based on the parameters provided here should be easily able to shed
light on the nature of this outlier. Noise investigations on the LIGO
instruments could also reveal the presence of a coherent contamination.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in The Astrophysical
