NEW SPECIES OF LEOPOLDAMYS (MAMMALS, RODENTIA: MURIDAE) FROM KALIMANTAN AND JAWA

During May-June 2008 survey an individual Leopoldamys was caught withbicolored tail sharply demarcated between the upper and lower part from Haju Maruwaiarea in Kalimantan. Following this two more specimens from the MZB collection werefound with individual bicolor tails from Bukit Baka National Park West Kalimantan andCibodas Botanical Garden Gede Pangrango, West Jawa. Comparative study on theexternal characters and skull measurements with L. sabanus, L. edwardsi and L.siporanus from Kalimantan, Jawa and Sumatra and adjacent islands (using invariable,multivariate and discriminant analysis), revealed significant differences between thenew Leopoldamys sp and established L. sabanus, L. edwardsi and L. neilli from Jawa,Kalimantan, Sumatra and adjacent islands. On the basis of these characteristicdifferences we described it as Leopoldamys diwangkarai sp nov and its exposition isdiscussed

Dampak Kebijakan Ekonomi di Sektor Agroindustri terhadap Distribusi Pendapatan Sektoral, Tenaga Kerja dan Rumahtangga di Indonesia: Analisis Sistem Neraca Sosial Ekonomi

The research objective is to analyze the impact of government expenditure, export, investment and tax policy in agroindustry sector on sectoral, labor and household income distribution. The analysisi using Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) model. Result of policy simulation in agroindustry sector is used for further analysis of income distribution using SAM and SUSENAS data. The result show that export, investment and tax insentive policy in agroindustry sector has positive impact to improve sectoral, labor and household income distribution. Export and investment policy in food agroindustry give a greater impact on income distribution compare to non food agroindustry. The most effective policy to improve income distribution is to increase investment in priority industries of agroindustry

Research subjects in this study were VII.8 class in SMP Negeri 6 Palembang. Instruments used in this research is problem-based student activity sheets, lesson plans, documents (validation sheets), and test questions. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis. On the steps of expert reviews and one-to-one is made to see the validity of the student activity sheet. On the steps in small group made to look practicality. MORPHOLOGICAL VARIATION OF WHITEHEAD’S RAT Maxomys whiteheadi (Thomas, 1894) (RODENTIA: MURIDAE) FROM KALIMANTAN AND SUMATRA

We conducted a study of morphological variation in Whitehead’s rat (Maxomys whiteheadi) based on specimens available at the Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense. A total of 224 adult specimens from the Indonesian island’s of Sumatra and Kalimantan were examined using measurements of 17 skull and four external characters. Multiple analyses of variance demonstrated that 20 of characters measured varied significantly with location. Only breadth of zygomatic plate did not show a significant effect by location. One character, hind foot length, was significantly affected by sex, and the characters head and body length, breadth of braincase, and breadth of molar 1 showed a significant interaction (p< 0,05) between sex and location. Three distinct morphological groups of M. whiteheadi were recognized within Kalimantan using discriminant function analysis. These were: a West and East Kalimantan group; a Central Kalimantan group; and a North East Kalimantan group. No distinct morphological groups were observed among the Sumatra specimens. The discriminant analysis indicated that most of the variation (79,9%) distinguished the Kalimantan and Sumatra populations from one another

Pengaruh Variasi Temperatur Gelatinisasi Pati Terhadap Sifat Kekuatan Tarik Dan Pemanjangan Pada Saat Putus Bioplastik Pati Umbi Talas

Bioplastik adalah plastik terbuat dari biopolimer pati seperti pati jagung, ubi, kulit singkong, tepungporong, dan kentang. Talas (Colocasia esculenta) mempunyai komposisi kadar pati 80% sehinggaberpotensi sebagai bahan baku pembuatan bioplastik dengan menggunakan gliserol sebagaiplastizicer. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh variasi tempertur gelatinisasi patiterhadap sifat kekuatan tarik dan pemanjangan saat putus bioplastik dari pati umbi talas. Pembuatanbioplastik ini menggunakan metode casting. Tahap pertama mengaduk larutan pati 0,2 gr/ml,gliserol 1% v, asam asetat 2 ml sampai homogen dan dipanaskan memakai hotplate magneticstirrer dengan variasi temperatur gelatinisasi pati sebesar 60oC, 70oC, dan 80oC. Tahap keduamenuangkan larutan bioplastik kecetakan 25 cm x 25 cm x 0,1 cm. Bioplastik dianalisa sifatkekuatan tarik dan pemanjangan pada saat putus sesuai dengan ASTM D882. Hasil analisamenunjukkan bahwa sifat kekuatan tarik dan pemanjangan pada saat putus terbesar 9,4062 MPadan nilai pemanjangan saat putus 6,762 %

Then do the calculation ability of mycorrhizal infection by comparing the number of infected root surface and the total of roots surface were observed . The results showed that the degree of mycorrhizal infection on the roots of coffee plants positively influenced by altitude and soil organic Carbon content

This study aimed to describe the system greeting Riau Malay in Sabak Auh Siak Sri Indrapura. The system consisted of greeting greeting kinship and nonkekerabatan. The method used in this study used descriptive qualitative method. Source of research data from multiple informants from Sabak Auh district community. The results of the analysis conducted that the system greeting. Families are the core of eight greeting, greeting the broad family as much as sixteen greeting, greeting in kinship based nicknames as many as four, sapan in kinship based endearment five greeting. In addition nonkekerabatan system based on the age of seven greetings, greetings by the religious title five greetings, greetings by profession seven greeting, the greeting by the nickname of three greetings. The existing system was able to avoid misunderstandings between the user's language, capable of understanding and avoid komplik in the process of greeting greetings

This study is a qualitative research and descriptive method. Techniques used in data collection in this study is engineering documentation and technical notes.
