Finding the right answer: an information retrieval approach supporting knowledge sharing
Knowledge Management can be defined as the effective strategies to get the right piece of knowledge to the right person in the right time. Having the main purpose of providing users with information items of their interest, recommender systems seem to be quite valuable for organizational knowledge management environments. Here we
present KARe (Knowledgeable Agent for Recommendations), a multiagent recommender system that supports users sharing knowledge in a peer-to-peer environment. Central to this work is the assumption that social interaction is essential for the creation and dissemination of new knowledge. Supporting social interaction, KARe allows users to share knowledge through questions and answers. This paper describes KAReļæ½s agent-oriented architecture and presents its recommendation algorithm
Preliminary Results on the Empirical Applicability of the Tsallis Distribution in Elastic Hadron Scattering
We show that the proton-proton elastic differential cross section data at dip
position and beyond can be quite well described by a parametrization based on
the Tsallis distribution, with only five free fit parameters. Extrapolation of
the results obtained at 7 TeV to large momentum transfer, suggests that hadrons
may not behave as a black-disk at the asymptotic energy region.Comment: 3 pages, 1 figure, version matching proceedings style, XII Hadron

A nonextensive insight to the stellar initial mass function
the present paper, we propose that the stellar initial mass distributions as
known as IMF are best fitted by -Weibulls that emerge within nonextensive
statistical mechanics. As a result, we show that the Salpeter's slope of
2.35 is replaced when a -Weibull distribution is used. Our results
point out that the nonextensive entropic index represents a new approach
for understanding the process of the star-forming and evolution of massive
stars.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, Accepted to EP
