    Visco-elastic regularization and strain softening

    In this paper it is intended to verify the capacity of regularization of the numerical solution of an elasto-plastic problem with linear strain softening. The finite element method with a displacement approach is used. Drucker-Prager yield criteria is considered. The radial return method is used for the integration of the elasto-plastic constitutive relations. An elastovisco- plastic scheme is used to regularize the numerical solution. Two constitutive laws have been developed and implemented in a FE-program, the first represent the radial return method applied to Drucker-Prager yield criteria and the second is a time integration procedure for the Maxwell visco-elastic model. Attention is paid to finite deformations. An associative plastic flow is considered in the Drucker-Prager elasto-plastic model. The algorithms are tested in two problems with softening. Figures showing the capability of the algorithms to regularize the solution are presented

    Scattering theory for a class of non-selfadjoint extensions of symmetric operators

    This work deals with the functional model for a class of extensions of symmetric operators and its applications to the theory of wave scattering. In terms of Boris Pavlov's spectral form of this model, we find explicit formulae for the action of the unitary group of exponentials corresponding to almost solvable extensions of a given closed symmetric operator with equal deficiency indices. On the basis of these formulae, we are able to construct wave operators and derive a new representation for the scattering matrix for pairs of such extensions in both self-adjoint and non-self-adjoint situations.Comment: 32 pages; This is the continuation of arXiv:1703.06220 (and formerly contained in v1); this version is as accepted by the journal (Operator Theory: Advances and Applications

    Meson production in two-photon interactions at energies available at CERN Large Hadron Collider

    The meson production cross sections are estimated considering photon-photon interactions in hadron - hadron collisions at CERN LHC energies. We consider a large number of mesons with photon-photon partial decay width well constrained by the experiment and some mesons which are currently considered as hadronic molecule and glueball candidates. Our results demonstrate that the experimental analysis of these states is feasible at CERN - LHC.Comment: 5 pages, 1 figure, 4 tables. Version published in Physical Review
