A estrutura fundiária no Rio Grande do Sul:uma interpretação do período de 1975 a 1995-1996

The article analyzes the land structure of Rio Grande do Sul in the period from 1975 to 1995-1996, makes a historical retrospective of the formation of the small and large property in the state and identifies the factors that determined the current distortions of the agrarian structure Regional. The degree of concentration of the land structure was scaled through the Gini index, which has the advantage of expressing, through a single number, the combination of two variables: the number of establishments and the area occupied by them, when they group these Properties by size classes. It can be said that the evolution of this index of the land structure of the State, in the period from 1975 to 1995-1996, reveals that the changes occurred during the period were reduced, presenting, in general, descending values, being able to fit within the range of Medium to strong concentration.O artigo analisa a estrutura fundiária do Rio Grande do Sul no período de 1975 a 1995-1996, faz uma retrospectiva histórica da formação da pequena e grande propriedade no Estado e identifica os fatores que determinaram as atuais distorções da estrutura fundiária regional. O grau de concentração da estrutura fundiária foi dimensionado através do índice de Gini, que tem a vantagem de expressar, através de um único número, a combinação de duas variáveis: o número de estabelecimentos e a área por eles ocupada, quando se agrupam esses imóveis por classes de tamanho. Pode-se afirmar que a evolução desse índice da estrutura fundiária do Estado, no período de 1975 a 1995-1996, revela que foram reduzidas as alterações ocorridas no período, apresentando, no geral, valores decrescentes, podendo enquadrar-se dentro da faixa de concentração de média a forte
