Taxonomic change of two species in the genus Haploclastus Simon 1892 (Araneae, Theraphosidae)
The genus Haploclastus is represented by eight species in India. In this paper, we synonymise Haploclastus robustus Pocock, 1900 with H. validus Pocock, 1899. H. himalayensis Tikader, 1977 is transferred to the genus Chilobrachys based on a generic character, the presence of enlarged paddle setae on prolateral side of maxillae. We provide additional information on morphometry and photographs of the palp and stridulatory setae that are lacking in the original description
New genus with two new species of the Family Nemesiidae (Araneae: Mygalomorphae) from Arunachal Pradesh, India
The new genus, Damarchilus gen. nov., is proposed with descriptions of two new species, Damarchilus nigricus sp. nov. and Damarchilus rufus sp. nov., from northeast India. External characters for the new genus and new species are examined and illustrated. In addition, the natural history of the species is provided

Natural history of the trapdoor spider Idiops joida Gupta et al 2013 (Araneae: Idiopidae) from the Western Ghats in India
AbstractWe studied the habitat preferences and burrow characteristics of trapdoor spiders, Idiops joida Gupta et al 2013, within Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary and nearby reserve forests of Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, Western Ghats, India, from January 2010 to April 2010. We sampled 293 plots using 5 m2 quadrats, randomly placed in six habitat types at four localities. Spiders showed patchy distribution throughout the study area. The density of I. joida was highest in uncanopied habitats having sparse vegetation or bare grounds. Steep slopes were strongly preferred by spiders. Burrow characteristics of I. joida, such as burrow diameter, depth, and lid thickness, were independent of habitat type
