    Complete absence of data on alpha 1 antitrypsin in this country prompted us to determine serum levels using radial immunodiffusion (RID) and phenotypes by isoelectric focusing (IEF) in 100 healthy adults (52 males and 48 females). Mean serum alpha 1 antitrypsin concentration in healthy subjects was 2.47±0.08 g/l and the main phenotypes MM (70%), M1 M2 (28%) and FM 3(2%) are infrequent in our population (JPMA 45:245,1995)

    Lallemantia royleana Benth. is an annual, biennial or perennial herb, belonging to the family Lamiaceae, commonly known as Balangu. It is cultivated throughout Western Asia, India, Pakistan and Northern of Iraq. In Unani system of medicine it act as a Mudire Baul  (Diuretic), Muqawwi Qalb (Cardiotonic), Musakkin (Sedative) etc and used for treatment of  Nazla wa Zukam (Common cold) , Humma (Fever), Dard Mafasil (Joint pain), Hudar (Rheumatism), Amraze Gurda (Renal disorder), Zofe Qalb (Weakness of heart) etc. Traditional observation reports that this plant retains potential to cure infectious diseases. Nowadays, it is receiving substantial consideration by scientist and pharmaceutical research industries with the aim to explore for more effective substitute. The seeds contain linoleic, oleic, betasitosterol, palmitic and stearic acids, its gums are composed of L-rhamnose, L-arabinose, D-galactose, protein, uronic anhydride and are generally used for the treatment of abscesses, inflammation and respiratory problems, also used in drinks due to its sedative effects.     Dynamics of Leverage Policies: Comparative Analysis of Shariah Compliant and non- Compliant Firms

    This study aims to check the influence of corporate governance on the leverage policies of Shariah-compliant and NSC firms. Also, their speed of adjustment toward optimal leverage is compared. The dynamic system GMM technique confirms that corporate governance is an essential feature in leveraging the policies of Shariah-compliant and NSC firms. However, the board size, board independence, CEO duality, and auditor reputation determine the leverage policy of Shariah-compliant firms. Board size, ownership concentration, and auditor reputation determine the leverage policy in NSC firms. Additionally, NSC firms adjust their leverage more quickly than Shariah-compliant firms. &nbsp
