"The Formation of the Modern Population Statistics in Sweden --- Parish Registers and the Population Tables"(in Japanese)

The Population Tables of 1749 are one of the earliest censuses in the world. Parish registers were to form the basis of these population statistics. Moreover the organization of the Swedish state church was taken advantage in order to take statistics. For example, the basic information was collected separately in each parish by the parson who knew parishioners very well. So the Population Tables could have the following merits. 1. All of the Swedish people must belong to the Swedish state church. So the Population Tables could cover the most of all the population in Sweden. 2. The parson visited every family in the parish and checked the information about the family members in parish registers. So the information of the Population Tables was precise as a whole. 3. The Population Tables could take up many sorts of information about the Swedish population. Because parish registers had dealt with various sorts of information (date of birth, marriage, burial, migration and household membership etc). Moreover the parson could collect the other sorts of information such as cause of death.

スウェーデン救貧連盟は，1918年の救貧法改革の実現に貢献した有力な圧力団体として注目されてきた．また，その児童福祉に関わる活動も，スウェーデンの児童福祉の発展に重要な役割を果たしたことが知られている．しかし，このように活動の一部に関心が集中する一方で，そもそもこの団体が如何なる課題をもち，どのような活動を展開したのかを検討する作業は十分行われてこなかった．そこで，本稿では，担った課題や活動の展開を万遍なく把握することを通じて，この団体の全体像を明らかにし，それによりこの団体がスウェーデン福祉国家の形成に果たした歴史的役割を解明することを試みることとする．この第５部では，児童福祉をめぐる諸活動の展開を，24年の社会的児童福祉法成立に至る児童福祉諸立法の制定に関らせながら見ていくこととする．また，最後に論文の締めくくりとして，この団体の歴史的意義について検討することとする．論文/Article

Analysis of gastrin receptor gene expression in proliferating cells in the neck zone of gastric fundic glands using laser capture microdissection

AbstractGastrin stimulates proliferation of progenitor cells in the neck zone of gastric fundic mucosa. However, whether it directly enhances this proliferation through its receptors remains unclear. We investigated the expression of gastrin receptors in neck zone proliferating cells in rat gastric fundic glands using a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) coupled with laser capture microdissection and in situ RT-PCR. Gastrin receptor expression was identified in c-fos-expressing cells located in the neck zone, and results of the RT-PCR analysis argued against contamination by other cells, such as enterochromaffin-like, parietal or D cells. Supporting this finding, gastrin receptor gene expression was identified in the neck zone as well as base glands by in situ RT-PCR. Therefore, it is suggested that proliferating cells in the neck zone are stimulated directly by gastrin via their gastrin receptors

Development of a Field Guide for Identification of Plant Species by using of the "Google My Map"

In the present study, a field guide for identification of plant species was developed. It was built by the “My Maps” of the function in the “Google Map”. This online “Map” showed the habitat point, the plant name and photos of each species. Students were able to use it by the smart phones and the tablet devices as well as PC machines. They were able to confirm their position by GPS in their mobile devices, and also find plants to observe. Moreover, they were easily able to identify the species name by this "Map". A questionnaire survey was conducted for the purpose of improvement of the “Map” to students. As the result, it was suggested that this "Map" enhanced students' interest in outdoor observation, and was effective when students actually go out to the field and observe the plants. On the other hand, it turned out that this "Map" was not easy to use for the beginners of the mobile equipment.
