Dynamic analysis of slider-crank mechanism with clearance fault

    Get PDF
In this paper, the dynamic behavior of the slider-crank mechanism with clearance fault is investigated. The revolute joint with clearance is equivalent to a virtual massless rod, and then the dynamic equation of the crank slider mechanism with clearance is established by the Lagrangian method. In addition, a three-dimensional dynamic model of the crank slider mechanism with clearance is also established by ADAMS. The numerical results show that the clearance affects the displacement and velocity response of the crank-slider mechanism in a weak way, but influences the acceleration response of the mechanism in a significant manner. Due to the existence of the clearance, the revolute joint of the mechanism produces a rub-impact phenomenon, and the larger the clearance, the greater the impact strength. During the rub-impact process, there are three kinds of motion states of separation, collision and contact occur

Two-phase simulation of the pressure loss in helical channel

The CFD simulations are carried out for the flows in a helical gas-liquid separator, which is installed at the inlet of the electric submersible pump (ESP) to separate gas from gas-liquid mixture and keep the efficiency of the pump. The effects of mass flux, curvature and helix angle on two-phase pressure drop have been investigated. Through theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, it is found that the mass flux of two-phase flow and the curvature of spiral passage have influence on pressure drop, while the spiral angle has little effect on pressure loss

Dynamic analysis of localized defects in rolling bearing systems

In this paper, the dynamics of rolling bearing with localized defects of the outer ring and rolling element are investigated. In order to study the nonlinear dynamical behaviors of the rolling bearing precisely, a novel dynamic model of the rolling bearing is established based on the Lagrangian approach. By setting 0.2 mm, 0.4 mm and 0.6 mm local defects on the outer ring and rolling element of bearing respectively, the results demonstrate that the amplitude of the rolling bearing is more intense as the local defect size increases, and the acceleration amplitude fluctuation is more significant than the velocity. In addition, in the case of the same defect size, the vibration of the rolling element defect is more intense than the vibration response caused by the outer ring defect

Dynamic analysis of the moving mechanism of the reciprocating compressor with clearance joints

The clearance faults on joint of moving mechanism are most common in a reciprocating compressor. In order to investigate the relationship between the clearance faults and the dynamic behavior of the moving mechanism, a dynamic model with clearances of a reciprocating compressor is built via software ADAMS. We take into the clearance size and clearance number into consideration and set clearance fault on the joint between the crank and connecting rod, the joint between connecting rod and crosshead and both joints of connecting rod, exploring the effect of these factor on the dynamic response. Then we make a non-linear analysis to estimate the chaos behavior. In the end, we conclude that the clearance size and the number of clearance both strongly influence the dynamic behaviors of the moving mechanism, so do the position where clearance fault happens. As the clearance size increases or the number of clearance fault increase, the acceleration will oscillate more violent and have higher amplitude, furthermore, it is more possible to show chaotic behaviors

Dynamic behavior of reciprocating compressor system, with translational clearance between the crosshead and guide under time-varying cylinder load, is investigated. In order to analyze the dynamic response of the system with translational clearance, a novel nonlinear dynamic model is established based on the Lagrangian approach. The numerical solution of the dynamic equation is calculated by the Runge-Kutta method. The results show that the translational clearance has a great effect on the reciprocating compressor, and the more the translational clearance, the great the influence. Moreover, the phase space of the crosshead reveals that the reciprocating compressor system with translational clearance has chaotic characteristics

In this paper, the reciprocating compressor with clearance and subsidence of the crosshead is studied, considering the varying cylinder pressure. To investigate the nonlinear dynamical behaviors of the reciprocating compressor precisely, a novel dynamic model of the reciprocating compressor of single cylinder with clearance and subsidence for the varying cylinder pressure is established based on the Lagrangian approach. It is demonstrated that different clearance sizes, subsidence sizes and crankshaft angular velocities can affect the dynamic response of the crosshead in the horizontal direction, respectively. The analysis results of dynamic response illustrate that with the increase of clearance sizes and subsidence sizes, the influence of crosshead displacement, velocity and acceleration increase, but the effect of clearance is much stronger than subsidence. Fast Fourier transformation is also applied to analyze the frequency spectrum of the system response. Moreover, the stability of the motion is studied using phase trajectories, maximum Lyapunov exponents and Poincaré sections. Numerical solution results show that clearance sizes, subsidence sizes and crankshaft angular velocities change the dynamical behavior of the system. Through calculation of the maximum Lyapunov exponents and Poincaré portraits, the results reveal that the reciprocating compressor system is characterized by chaotic behavior with the faults of clearance and subsidence. Furthermore, with the increase of the clearance sizes and the crankshaft angular velocities, the shapes of chaotic phase trajectories have changed greatly, and varied inconspicuously with the increase of subsidence sizes in reciprocating compressor system

In order to explore the failure mechanism of a reciprocating compressor system with clearance fault, we implemented a computational framework whereby a simulation model of the mechanism is established using ADAMS software in this paper, and a typical reciprocating compressor model is introduced to validate the design model. In this work, the joint clearance faults between the crankshaft and linkage, between the linkage and crosshead, and in both locations are taken into account computationally. These faults are one of the major causes of vibration. Through dynamic calculation and analysis of a system with clearance fault, the simulated results show that these clearance faults directly influence the vibration. The larger the gap size, the more severe the vibration and the higher the amplitude of the vibration. Furthermore, the clearance number also affects the vibration greatly

Aiming at feature identification of weak signal for rolling bearing fault,an adaptive redundant lifting scheme packet( ARLSP) diagnostic method of undecimated operation was proposed to solve the faults distortion that caused by traditional wavelet packet or lifting wavelet transform using sample operation.ARLSP was based on the principle of lifting scheme.Initial undecimated prediction and update operator were calculated by Lagrange interpolating subdivision, and then constructed an ARLSP decomposition and reconstruction algorithm.Simulation signals were tried out by denoising and anti frequency aliasing, results show that ARLSP method was superior to the traditional wavelet packet in denoising capabilities, and there are no frequency aliasing. Moreover, taking an experiment on an asynchronous motor, the vibration signals of the rolling bearings 6205 under conditions of no fault, the inner ring fault, outer ring fault and rolling fault were measured.ARLSP method has been successfully used to extract characteristic frequency and frequency multiplication for various faults, and has got a higher diagnostic accuracy than traditional wavelet packet

Modified Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control for Uncertain Robot Manipulator Trajectory Tracking

    No full text
To solve the problems of model uncertainties, dynamic coupling, and external disturbances, a modified linear active disturbance rejection controller (MLADRC) is proposed for the trajectory tracking control of robot manipulators. In the computer simulation, MLADRC is compared to the proportional-derivative (PD) controller and the regular linear active disturbance rejection controller (LADRC) for performance tests. Multiple uncertain factors such as friction, parameter perturbation, and external disturbance are sequentially added to the system to simulate an actual robot manipulator system. Besides, a two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) manipulator is constructed to verify the control performance of the MLADRC. Compared with the regular LADRC, MLADRC is significantly characterized by the addition of feedforward control of reference angular acceleration, which helps robot manipulators keep up with target trajectories more accurately. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the MLADRC over the regular LADRC for the trajectory tracking control

A Matching Pursuit Algorithm for Backtracking Regularization Based on Energy Sorting

    No full text
The signal reconstruction quality has become a critical factor in compressed sensing at present. This paper proposes a matching pursuit algorithm for backtracking regularization based on energy sorting. This algorithm uses energy sorting for secondary atom screening to delete individual wrong atoms through the regularized orthogonal matching pursuit (ROMP) algorithm backtracking. The support set is continuously updated and expanded during each iteration. While the signal energy distribution is not uniform, or the energy distribution is in an extreme state, the reconstructive performance of the ROMP algorithm becomes unstable if the maximum energy is still taken as the selection criterion. The proposed method for the regularized orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm can be adopted to improve those drawbacks in signal reconstruction due to its high reconstruction efficiency. The experimental results show that the algorithm has a proper reconstruction
