LoRA-like Calibration for Multimodal Deception Detection using ATSFace Data
Recently, deception detection on human videos is an eye-catching techniques
and can serve lots applications. AI model in this domain demonstrates the high
accuracy, but AI tends to be a non-interpretable black box. We introduce an
attention-aware neural network addressing challenges inherent in video data and
deception dynamics. This model, through its continuous assessment of visual,
audio, and text features, pinpoints deceptive cues. We employ a multimodal
fusion strategy that enhances accuracy; our approach yields a 92\% accuracy
rate on a real-life trial dataset. Most important of all, the model indicates
the attention focus in the videos, providing valuable insights on deception
cues. Hence, our method adeptly detects deceit and elucidates the underlying
process. We further enriched our study with an experiment involving students
answering questions either truthfully or deceitfully, resulting in a new
dataset of 309 video clips, named ATSFace. Using this, we also introduced a
calibration method, which is inspired by Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA), to refine
individual-based deception detection accuracy.Comment: 10 pages, 9 figure
ENISLE: an intuitive heuristic nearly optimal solution for mincut and ratio mincut partitioning
[[abstract]]Mincut partitioning is to minimize the total cuts of the edges by the partitioning of nodes into two sets. The proposed method, Edge-Node Interleaved Sort for Leaching and Envelop (ENISLE) algorithm, not only uses node information but also uses edge information. It is simple, but works effectively, and has never appeared in any earlier literature. It can soon obtain an intuitive heuristic nearly optimal solution for mincut and ratio mincut partitioning and, at the same time, is very suitable for EDA usage.[[conferencetype]]國際[[conferencedate]]20010506~20010509[[booktype]]紙本[[iscallforpapers]]Y[[conferencelocation]]Syndey, NSW, Australi
Exposure of the Hidden Anti-Ferromagnetism in Paramagnetic CdSe:Mn Nanocrystals
We present theoretical and experimental investigations of the magnetism of
paramagnetic semiconductor CdSe:Mn nanocrystals and propose an efficient
approach to the exposure and analysis of the underlying anti-ferromagnetic
interactions between magnetic ions therein. A key advance made here is the
build-up of an analysis method with the exploitation of group theory technique
that allows us to distinguish the anti-ferromagnetic interactions between
aggregative Mn2+ ions from the overall pronounced paramagnetism of magnetic ion
doped semiconductor nanocrystals. By using the method, we clearly reveal and
identify the signatures of anti-ferromagnetism from the measured temperature
dependent magnetisms, and furthermore determine the average number of Mn2+ ions
and the fraction of aggregative ones in the measured CdSe:Mn nanocrystals.Comment: 26 pages, 5 figure
Study of muon tomographic imaging for high Z material detection with a Micromegas-based tracking system
A high spatial resolution tracking system was setup with the Micro-mesh
gaseous structure (Micromegas) detectors in order to study the muon tomographic
imaging technique for nuclear threat detection. 6 layers of 90 mm 90
mm one-dimensional readout Micromegas were used to construct a tracking system
and the imaging test using some metallic bars was performed with cosmic ray
muons. A two-dimensional imaging of the test object was presented with a newly
proposed ratio algorithm
Protective Mechanism of Luteinizing Hormone and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone Against Nicotine-Induced Damage of Mouse Early Folliculogenesis
Previous studies have shown that nicotine could impair the germ cell cyst breakdown and the primordial follicle assembly by autophagy. In this paper, we discovered that luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) could counteract the damage caused by nicotine of mouse germ cell cyst breakdown. The neonatal mice were separately intraperitoneally injected with nicotine, nicotine plus LH, nicotine plus FSH, and saline (control) for 4 days. Compared with the nicotine group, the quality of oocytes and the number of follicles were remarkably increased in the nicotine plus LH group or nicotine plus FSH group. LH and FSH could alleviate nicotine-induced oocyte autophagy by different pathways. LH reduced the nicotine-induced autophagy by restoring the phosphorylation level of adenosine 5 '-monophosphate-activated protein kinase alpha-1, while FSH by downregulating the phosphorylation level of Forkhead box class O 1. In addition, in a subsequent study of 6-week mice in different treated groups, we found that LH and FSH supplementation significantly improved normal maturation rates, fertilization rates, and embryo's developmental potential of oocytes in oocytes exposed to nicotine. Taken together, these results suggested that LH and FSH could counteract the damage caused by nicotine and finally ensure normal germ cell cyst breakdown and early embryo development
Fossil Seed from the Miocene Shihti Formation of Taiwan
A compressed fossil seed, described as Carpolithes sp., is found in the coal-bearing Miocene Shihti Formation from the Lifeng coal mine, Sanshia District of the New Taipei City. The fossil is generally rounded with a diameter of ca. 10 mm in lateral view. The anatomical features of the testa epidermal cells were observed using anatomical analysis. The anatomical features of the megafossil organ from the Formation are reported for the first time
