For the first time, the paper discusses the drawings by Yesenin in his article “Mary’s Keys” (1918) and on the margins of the autograph of the dramatic poem Pugachev (1921) considering them as part of the commentary on these works. The figures of letters in “Mary’s Keys” serve as a key to Yesenin’s understanding of the letters in the Russian alphabet and their literary-historical context. Yesenin considers Russian alphabet or any alphabet not only as a set of letters arranged in a particular order, but also treats it in figurative sense, like the ABC of self-knowledge in the world. The figurative meanings of Yesenin’s drawings in “Mary’s Keys” trace back to his conversations with Andrey Bely, to the ideas of such futurist poets as A. Kruchenykh’s, V. Khlebnikov’s and others, and to the ideas of K. Balmont’s. The drawings in the margins of the Pugachev autograph, especially the picture “The Ears of Rye,” associate the characters of the poem with the power of the earth, agricultural labor, the ear of rye, and relate them to the works of G. I. Uspensky Peasant and Peasant Labor (1880) and The Power of the Earth (1887). Yesenin singled out these series among the literary heritage of Uspensky, as is evidenced in his review . The essay therefore argues that Uspensky’s ideas influenced both ideology and figurative language of the poem Pugachev

“Showy”, “Music-hall” America: To the Centenary of Sergey Esenin’s Essay Iron Mirgorod

The article analyzes the image of America created by S.A. Esenin after his trip to the West with I. Duncan in the essay “Iron Mirgorod” (1923) and offers a comprehensive analysis of the poetics and the main sources of his text. Esenin was the first Soviet poet to visit America and create an essay about it, taking into account the rich literary tradition and his own vivid impressions. During his four month stay in America the poet lived in the New York City and visited 14 cities, in 11 states: Baltimore, Boston, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, St. Louis, Cleveland, Toledo, Toronto, Louisville, Memphis, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Chicago. In connection with the history of the creation and publication of the essay, the article pays attention to the ambiguous semantics of its title, its connection with reality and literary sources — the cycle of essays by M. Gorky’s In America (1906) and N.V. Gogol’s works, including the collection of novellas Mirgorod (1835). The researcher analyzes the multilevel content, the correlation between the external and internal dialogue and the creation of a complex and contradictory image, in which the showy, festive, carrying the “banner of industrial culture” is contrasted with the “music hall” America. The article reveals Esenin’s polemics with the poem 150 000 000 writen by Mayakovsky “on the basis of pictures” taken from old magazines, “translating Whitman” (most of Esenin‘s attacks against Mayakovsky were not published) and his controversy with Russian urbanists (those from “Kuznitsa,” “LEF”). Esenin’s deep concern for the problems of modern spirituality and culture was expressed in categorical and sometimes shocking tone of his assessments and judgments, oddity of style and the pecularity of genre — the essay is written in an ironic manner balancing between satire and grotesque. Carrying on a dialogue with Gogol, Esenin extremely sharpens the contradictions of real America and warns against choosing the American path of development with its exceptionalism, false pride of being “cultured”, “immersion in business” and “the power of dollar.

© 2017 Authors. The relevance of the study is due to the emergence of new Internet-addictive strategies of behavior among adolescents. The use of existing of psychodiagnostic of methods on revealing behavioral addictions children and adolescents from the virtual space does not give valid results. This leads to uncontrolled development in the teenage years mechanism of pathological addictive behavior on the basis of which can then easily be navigated to chemical addictions (smoking, alcoholism, drug addiction). Despite the seemingly harmlessness of internet addiction, they became the first step in the addiction personality and pose a threat to state security. The purpose of this article is to explore the possibilities of psychodiagnostics Internet-addictive behavior among pupils, as well as the need to update pedagogical prevention of addictive behavior in the educational environment. The leading method of the research is the analysis of psycho-pedagogical literature and legal acts in the field of prevention of addictive behavior, psychodiagnostic methods. In the article, there is an attempt to justify the need for increasing a conceptual model of coping prevention for all types of addictive behavior. It is shown that at the stage of pedagogical prevention it does not make sense to develop various programs of prevention of drug using, nicotine, smoking blends, alcohol, gaming and Internet addictions. The single purpose of preventive educational activities is the formation of adaptive coping strategies and coping resources of adolescents and young people that are at the heart of personality's resilience. Critical Overview of the Contents of Risk Management Plans for Medicines

    Get PDF
The pharmacovigilance system plays one of the key roles in ensuring safety and efficacy of medicine use. The risk management process helps to ensure the most favourable benefit/risk ratio of a medicine or combination of medicines both for the target populations and the general public. Unavailability of a risk management process for medicines may adversely affect the health of the general population. One of the major documents in medicine risk management is the risk management plan (RMP).The aim of the study was to analyse compliance of RMPs submitted as part of registration dossiers with the requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and to analyse problems arising during their preparation.Materials and methods: the authors analysed 200 RMPs submitted from January 1 until August 31, 2021.Results: it was determined that the most frequent mistakes made by pharmacovigilance officers are related to medicine summaries in RMPs covering several medicines, medicine safety specification parts of RMPs, description of risks in the pharmacovigilance plan and description of risk minimisation measures, and insufficient representation of the key elements of the medicine efficacy and safety overview in the RMP summary. For instance, RMPs often lack information on the epidemiology of indications for target populations in the EAEU, or RMPs may lack some of the major risks reflected in the patient information leaflets, or lack assessment of safety risk minimisation actions, etc. Conclusions: proper preparation of RMPs that would comply with the EAEU Good Pharmacovigilance Practice is inconceivable without further professional training of pharmacovigilance officers

Ivermectin: Evaluation of Efficacy and Safety in COVID-19

    Get PDF
The search for an effective and safe COVID-19 therapy involves, among other things, assessment of efficacy of medicines already used for the treatment of other diseases, and having potential antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2. The relevance of the presented study stems from ambiguous data on the off-label use of the antiparasitic medicine ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. The aim of the study was to analyse ivermectin efficacy and safety for COVID-19 treatment, as reflected in the scientific literature. Ivermectin, an antiparasitic medicine from the group of macrocyclic lactones produced by Streptomyces avermitilis, stimulates release of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid, which leads to impaired transmission of nerve impulses, paralysis and death of parasites. The results of preclinical studies show ivermectin’s inhibitory activity against a number of RNA and DNA viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. The results of ivermectin clinical studies are ambiguous: a number of studies demonstrated a positive effect on the condition of COVID-19 patients, however, there is currently no convincing evidence of the validity and efficacy of ivermectin use for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 patients. The safety profile of ivermectin is relatively favourable. Large randomised controlled trials are needed to fully assess the feasibility of using ivermectin in COVID-19
