    In the layered title coordination polymer, {[Ba2(C5H3N2O2)2(H2O)7](C5H3N2O2)2}n, the coordination geometries around the two independent BaII ions can be described as bicapped square-anti­prismatic [BaNO9] arrangements. A two-dimensional polymeric framework with (6,3) topology can be observed in the ac plane, the nodes being provided by BaII ions and the connectors being N and O atoms belonging to pyrazine-2-carboxyl­ate ligands and O atoms of bridging water mol­ecules. Non-coordinating pyrazine-2-carboxyl­ate ions are located between the polymeric layers in the crystal and are interconnected through extensive O—H⋯N,O hydrogen bonding

    BACKGROUND: Biochemical marker has revolutionized the approach to the diagnosis of heart failure. However, it remains difficult to assess stability of the patient. As such, novel means of stratifying disease severity are needed. C1q/TNF-Related Protein 3 (CTRP3) and C1q/TNF-Related Protein 9 (CTRP9) are novel adipokines that contribute to energy homeostasis with additional anti-inflammatory and anti-ischemic properties. The aim of our study is to evaluate concentrations of CTRP3 and CTRP9 in patients with HFrEF (heart failure with reduced ejection fraction) and whether associated with mortality. METHODS: Clinical data and plasma were obtained from 176 healthy controls and 168 patients with HFrEF. CTRP3 and CTRP9 levels were evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS: Both CTRP3 and CTRP9 concentrations were significantly decreased in the HFrEF group compared to the control group (p \u3c 0.001). Moreover, patients with higher New York Heart Association class had significantly lower CTRP3 or CTRP9 concentrations. Correlation analysis revealed that CTRP3 and CTRP9 levels were positively related with LVEF% (CTRP3, r = 0.556, p \u3c 0.001; CTRP9, r = 0.526, p \u3c 0.001) and negatively related with NT-proBNP levels (CTRP3, r = - 0.454, p \u3c 0.001; CTRP9, r = - 0.483, p \u3c 0.001). After a follow up for 36 months, after adjusted for age, LVEF and NT-proBNP, we observed that CTRP3 or CTRP9 levels below the 25th percentile was a predictor of total mortality (CTRP3,HR:1.93,95%CI1.03~3.62,P = 0.042;CTRP9,HR:1.98,95%CI:1.02~3.85,P = 0.044) and hospitalizations (CTRP3,HR:2.34,95% CI:1.43~3.82,P = 0.001;CTRP9,HR:2.67,95%CI:1.58~4.50,P \u3c 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: CTRP3 and CTRP9 are decreased in patients with HFrEF, proportionate to disease severity, and each is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. TRIAL REGISTRATION: NCT01372800 .     Significantly reduced radiation dose to operators during percutaneous vertebroplasty using a new cement delivery device

    BACKGROUND: Percutaneous vertebroplasy (PVP) might lead to significant radiation exposure to patients, operators, and operating room personnel. Therefore, radiaton exposure is a concern. The aim of this study was to present a remote control cement delivery device and study whether it can reduce dose exposue to operators. METHODS: After meticulous preoperative preparation, a series of 40 osteoporosis patients were treated with unilateral approach PVP using the new cement delivery divice. We compared levels of fluoroscopic exposure to operator standing on different places during operation. group A: operator stood about 4 meters away from X-ray tube behind the lead sheet. group B: operator stood adjacent to patient as using conventional manual cement delivery device. RESULTS: During whole operation process, radiation dose to the operator (group A) was 0.10 ± 0.03 (0.07-0.15) μSv, group B was 12.09 ± 4.67 (10–20) μSv. a difference that was found to be statistically significant (P < 0.001) between group A and group B. CONCLUSION: New cement delivery device plus meticulous preoperative preparation can significantly decrease radiation dose to operators

    Mobile phone addiction and academic burnout: the mediating role of technology conflict and the protective role of mindfulness

    With the rapid development of Internet technology, more and more college students are facing the threat of mobile phone addiction. However, the relationship and underlying mechanism between mobile phone addiction and academic burnout haven’t been explored in depth. This study proves the mediating role of technology conflict and the moderating role of mindfulness in the relation between mobile phone addiction and academic burnout. 752 college students were recruited to complete the questionnaire of mobile phone addiction, technology conflict, mindfulness and academic burnout. Results showed that mobile phone addiction was significantly and positively associated with academic burnout, and this relationship could be mediated by technology conflict. Besides, the direct effect of mobile phone addiction on academic burnout and the indirect effect of technology conflict in this link were moderated by mindfulness. Both these two effects are stronger for college students with lower level of mindfulness. Our findings enrich our understanding of how and when mobile phone addiction was related to academic burnout. Educational professionals and parents should take timely measure to the academic burnout of college students suffering from mobile phone addiction, particularly for those with lower level of mindfulness

    Positive Lyapunov exponents calculated from time series of strange nonchaotic-attractors

    Time-series methods for estimating Lyapunov exponents may give a positive exponent when they are applied to the time series of strange nonchaotic systems. Strange nonchaotic systems are characterized by expanding and contracting regions in phase space that result in repeatedly expanding or contracting trajectories. Using time-series methods, the maximum time-series Lyapunov exponent is calculated as an average of the locally most expanding exponents that characterize the divergence of nearby trajectories following a reconstructed attractor over time. A positive exponent is reported by time-series methods for trajectories in an expanding region. While in a converging region, the most expanding dynamics are related to the quasiperiodic driving force. Statistically, a zero exponent related to the quasiperiodic force is obtained through time-series methods within converging regions. As a result, the calculated maximum Lyapunov exponent is positive

    Nonlinear charge transport induced by gate voltage oscillation in few-layer MnBi2Te4

    Nonlinear charge transport, including nonreciprocal longitudinal resistance and nonlinear Hall effect, has garnered significant attention due to its ability to explore inherent symmetries and topological properties of novel materials. An exciting recent progress along this direction is the discovery of significant nonreciprocal longitudinal resistance and nonlinear Hall effect in the intrinsic magnetic topological insulator MnBi2Te4 induced by the quantum metric dipole. Given the importance of this finding, the inconsistent response with charge density, and conflicting requirement of C3z symmetry, it is imperative to elucidate every detail that may impact the nonlinear transport measurement. In this study, we reveal an intriguing experimental factor that inevitably gives rise to sizable nonlinear transport signal in MnBi2Te4. We demonstrate that this effect stems from the gate voltage oscillation caused by the application of a large alternating current to the sample. Furthermore, we propose a methodology to significantly suppress this effect by individually grounding the voltage electrodes during the second-harmonic measurements. Our investigation emphasizes the critical importance of thoroughly assessing the impact of gate voltage oscillation before determining the intrinsic nature of nonlinear transport in all 2D material devices with an electrically connected operative gate electrode.Comment: 28 pages, 12 figure

    Anti-Hepatitis B Virus X Protein in Sera Is One of the Markers of Development of Liver Cirrhosis and Liver Cancer Mediated by HBV

    Hepatitis B virus X protein (HBx) plays a crucial role in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the significance of circulating antibody to hepatitis B virus X antigen (anti-HBx) in sera remains unclear. In the present study, we examined the titers of anti-HBx (IgG) in the sera from 173 patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB), 106 liver cirrhosis (LC), and 61 HCC by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), respectively. Our data showed that the positive rates of anti-HBx were higher in sera of LC (40.6%) and HCC (34.4%) than those of CHB (10.4%), P < .05. In all 40 patients with anti-HBx+ out of 340 patients, 39 (97.5%) were HBsAg/HBeAg/anti-HBc+ and 1 (2.5%) was anti-HBs+ (P < .01), suggesting that anti-HBx in sera is a marker of HBV replication rather than a protective antibody. Thus, our findings reveal that circulating anti-HBx in sera is one of the markers of development of LC and HCC mediated by HBV
