Perturbing Masses: A Study of Centered Co-Circular Configurations in Power-Law n-Body Problems

This research investigates centered co-circular central configurations in the general power-law potential nn-body problem. Firstly, there are no such configurations when all masses are equal, except for two; secondly, unless all masses are equal, no such configurations exist when masses can be divided into two sets of equal masses. We adapt Wang's criterion and incorporate insights on cyclic quadrilaterals, alongside mathematical induction.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figure

Failure Behaviours of Steel Projectiles with Localised Melting Against Armour Plates

    Get PDF
The surface remelting technology of high energy beam can locally weaken the case for controlled fragmentation, which may affect the survivability of the impacting projectiles. Failure behaviours of steel projectiles with melted layers grid normally perforating armour plates was investigated. The results reveal that shear fracture mainly occurs in the nose region of projectiles due to high loading, and the melting zone of projectiles can keep integrity with no damage, which means the survivability of projectile can be assured. Furthermore, an analytical model was proposed to the structural analysis of projectile, which is in accordance with the test results

TDOA positioning in the presence of atmospheric refraction and observer uncertainty influence analysis and correction

    Get PDF
Due to the inhomogeneity of the atmosphere, radio waves are subjected to refraction during the propagation process, which reduces its propagation speed and bends the propagation path. If the influence is not considered, a large error will be caused by using time difference of arrival (TDOA). The influence of atmospheric refraction on the TDOA localization under the known elevation constraint is analyzed, a subsection iterative method is proposed to correct the localization error caused by atmospheric refraction, the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) for location estimation under atmospheric refraction is deduced. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through simulation results and analysis
