Rare decay in a CP spontaneously broken two Higgs doublet model
The Higgs boson mass spectrum and couplings of neutral Higgs bosons to
fermions are worked out i n a CP spontaneously broken two Higgs doublet model
in the large tan case.
The differential branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, CP asymmetry
and lepton polarization for are computed. It is shown that
effects of neutral Higgs bosons are quite significant when is
large. Especially, the CP violating normal polarization can be as large

Significance of the lipid profile and endothelium-dependent vasodilatation in the pathogenesis of microvascular angina
Background: To investigate the significance of lipid disorders and endothelial dysfunction in
the pathogenesis of microvascular angina.
Methods: Levels of plasma lipids, lipoproteins and apolipoproteins were assessed in 21 patients
with microvascular angina and 24 healthy subjects as controls. Also, the endothelium-dependent
vasodilatation function was determined with high-resolution ultrasound in both groups.
Results: Levels of serum total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C),
apolipoprotein B100 (ApoB100) and lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] in microvascular angina group
were significantly higher than those in healthy subjects (each p < 0.05). The flow-mediated
dilatation (FMD) in brachial arteries in patients with microvascular angina declined significantly
as compared with that in control subjects (4.7 ± 1.9% vs. 12.8 ± 3.7%, p < 0.001).
However, no significant difference was observed in response to nitroglycerin between groups
(19.7 ± 8.1% vs. 21.2 ± 6.6%; p > 0.05). Linear correlation analysis revealed a significant
negative correlation between the FMD of brachial arteries and the serum levels of LDL-C and
Lp(a) in the microvascular angina group (r = -0.5125 and -0.4271, respectively, both p < 0.001). Subsequently, all subjects were pooled and divided into two groups (groups A and B)
according to the degree of FMD in brachial arteries (A £ 4% and B > 4%). The serum LDL-C
level was found to be significantly higher in group A than in group B (4.09 ± 0.65 mmol/L vs.
2.59 ± 0.49 mmol/L; p < 0.05).
Conclusions: Plasma lipid disorders and vascular endothelial dysfunction may play important
roles in the development of microvascular angina. The dysfunction of endothelium-dependent vasodilation was mainly associated with anomalies in LDL-C and Lp(a), and
myocardial endothelial dysfunction was aggravated by lipid abnormalities in patients with
microvascular angina
Dynamic Response and Optimal Design of Curved Metallic Sandwich Panels under Blast Loading
It is important to understand the effect of curvature on the blast response of curved structures so as to seek the optimal configurations of such structures with improved blast resistance. In this study, the dynamic response and protective performance of a type of curved metallic sandwich panel subjected to air blast loading were examined using LS-DYNA. The numerical methods were validated using experimental data in the literature. The curved panel consisted of an aluminum alloy outer face and a rolled homogeneous armour (RHA) steel inner face in addition to a closed-cell aluminum foam core. The results showed that the configuration of a “soft” outer face and a “hard” inner face worked well for the curved sandwich panel against air blast loading in terms of maximum deflection (MaxD) and energy absorption. The panel curvature was found to have a monotonic effect on the specific energy absorption (SEA) and a nonmonotonic effect on the MaxD of the panel. Based on artificial neural network (ANN) metamodels, multiobjective optimization designs of the panel were carried out. The optimization results revealed the trade-off relationships between the blast-resistant and the lightweight objectives and showed the great use of Pareto front in such design circumstances
Alkaloids and Sesquiterpenes from the South China Sea Gorgonian Echinogorgia pseudossapo
Five zoanthoxanthin alkaloids (1–5) and four sesquiterpenes (6–9) were isolated from the South China Sea gorgonian Echinogorgia pseudossapo. Their structures were determined on the bases of extensive spectroscopic analyses, including 1D and 2D NMR data. Among them, pseudozoanthoxanthins III and IV (1–2), 8-hydroxy-6β-methoxy-14- oxooplop-6,12-olide (6) and 3β-methoxyguaian-10(14)-en-2β-ol (7) were new, 1 and 3 showed mild anti-HSV-1 activity, and 7 showed significant antilarval activity towards Balanus amphitrite larvae
