    A bird view on Ayurvedic management of Hyperacidity

    Acidity and heartburn are increasingly becoming common lifestyle disorder. Busy lives, hectic schedules, mental stress, rat-race anxiety and not enough time to eat are some of reasons causing acidity and hyperacidity problems. Hyperacidity refers to a set of symptoms caused by an imbalance between the acid secreting mechanism of the stomach and proximal intestine and the protective mechanisms that ensure their safety. It is one of the most common symptoms affecting 70% of population. Etiology includes lifestyle or dietary habits, a medical condition, or the use of some medications, stress etc. It is characterized by acid regurgitation, heartburn, nausea, acidic taste in mouth, sour or bitter belching indicating Vikruti of Pachaka Pitta, Samanavayu, Apana Vayu, Kledaka Kapha, Agni and Ahara. In Ayurveda Hyperacidity can be explained under broad umbrella of Urdwaga Amlapitta, Vidagdhajeerna, Saamapitta Laxana, Pittaja Grahani Laxana. With time hyperacidity gets complicated, thus arresting the progress of disease is one of the important steps which are achieved through Pathyapathya and Nidana parivarjana. Satvavajaya chikitsa empowers the patient to deal with stress which is one among the common triggers. Vamana and Virechana, facilitates the expulsion of vitiated Dosha from the body, there by cures the disease from root. Hence Probable Chikitsa of Hyperacidity in Ayurveda includes Nidana Parivarjana, Shodana, Shamana, Rasayana, Yoga and Pranayama

    An Ayurvedic approach to Post Covid Symptoms

    COVID- 19, the recent virus outbreak declared as Pandemic by WHO threatened the world by its fast-spreading nature and is yet creating an alarmed situation throughout the world by Post Covid Symptoms. A recent study on post-COVID manifestation of symptoms showed that about 72 percent of participants had major complaints only 10.8 percent of survivors assessed in the study had no symptoms or manifestations Post Covid. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Some patients may have aches and pain. However, the worlds had suffered a lot with this pandemic, further the Post Covid symptoms, may add burden to the population in handling their daily works and needs. The incidence is higher in older age group, obesity, diabetic, hypertensive and other respiratory illness. Due to persistent viremia, lack of immunity, Mental factors and other immune responses. Aim: To Understand the Post COVID Symptoms and Their Management Through Ayurvedic Treatment Modalities. Data source: Ayurvedic literature, Different Ayurvedic and Medical journal, Review articles, Evidence-based articles published online, various National health websites are considered. Result: Ayurveda has enormous potential and treatment options which are available for enhancing the immunity and systemic illness and positively influence mental health, thus helpful in combating Post Covid symptoms. Conclusion: Ayurveda should be used as main treatment modality for Heath restoration and Prevention of Post Covid symptoms and recurrence, rather than an adjuvant therapy in treating Post COVID symptoms

    Clinical management of Madhumeha with Akulyadi Yoga

    Introduction: The advancement of industrialization and communication is contributing towards sedentary life styles; in turn causing chronic non-communicable diseases like Madhumeha vis-à-vis Diabetes Mellitus, etc. in fact Ayurveda is the first life science, which identified, diagnosed and managed Madhumeha. Madhumeha / DM are the present burning issue alarming the world. Aim & Objective: Management of Madhumeha with Akulyadi Yoga. Methodology: It is a clinical study. Diabetes Mellitus management with Akulyadi Yoga as a Shamana Chikitsa. Akulyadi Yoga ingredients are hypoglycemic agents collected from local area and prepared under GMP conditions, weighing about 500mg tablet form. Patients of Madhumeha fulfilling the criteria of diagnosis were selected in the present study. Observation: The male female ratio in the study is approximately 3:2 patients and 75% patients were recorded with sedentary life styles. In the present study 60% patients had family history and rest of the 40% patients had no family history of Madhumeha. Discussion: The key parameters to assess “glycemic” condition of Madhumeha exhibit, FBS with a mean difference of 48.605mg and PPBS with mean difference of 117.18mg for after too before data. Conclusion: This is strong evidence to state that the Akulyadi Yoga is good hypoglycemic agent combination of Ayurveda
