Changes in the spectral index of the interplanetary plasma turbulence in the period of low solar activity from observations of strongly scintillating source 3C 298

    No full text
We present the results of the analysis of temporal power spectra of interplanetary scintillation for the strong radio source 3C 298 observed at 111 MHz with radio telescope BSA LPI in the period near the solar activity minimum. The velocity of the solar wind plasma irregularities and the power exponent of the turbulence spatial spectrum are estimated from the measured temporal scintillation spectra. It is shown that some high frequency ffattening of the temporal scintillation power spectra due to the noise influence can bias the estimates of the source angular size and the spectral index of plasma turbulence. The comparison between the turbulence parameters for the sources 3C 48 and 3C 298 have been carried out. The decrease in the turbulence spectral exponent by transit from the high latitude fast solar wind to the low latitude slow solar wind is found from the 3C 298 data that confirms similar dependence found recently for the 3C 48 data

The results of metal-bearing industrial research and evaluation of predicted resources of rare and other valuable metals in coal deposits of the Far East are given. Geochemical association of metals and peculiarities oftheir concentration in the coals are shown. The total increase in the predicted resources of Ge in the coals of the studied fields of Primorye is estimated at more than 2.7 thousand tons. The resource potential of valuable metals was also estimated according to the categories of predicted resources P3 and PИ, from the studied coal objects of the Khabarovsk and Kamchatka Territories, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Magadan and Sakhalin Regions. For them, the total number of predicted resources of rare metals in the P2 category is: Sc – 11.98 thousand tons, Ga – 10.94 thousand tons, Ge – 7.18 thousand tons, Rb2O – 40 thousand tons, SrO – 137 thousand tons, Cs2O – 3.6 thousand tons, ZrO2 – 36.3 thousand tons, TR2O3 – 212.8 thousand tons. According to the category P3: Sc – 14.4 thousand tons, Ga – 16.4 thousand tons, Ge – 9.8 thousand tons, Rb2O – 46,3 thousand tons, SrO – 125,7 thousand tons, Cs2O – 9,16 thousand tons, ZrO2 – 135.6 thousand tons, TR2O3 – 266.18 thousand tons. The amount of platinum group metals is 15.1 tons in P2 category, and 24.4 tons in P3 category. A metallogenic map of coal deposits in the Far East of Russia is constructed. Rare-metal-coal fields in the eastern regions of Russia form an unconventional mineral and raw materials base for rare metals

Valuable metals in coals of the Russian Arctic zone

The research results of rare and valuable metals and estimations of resources of these metals in the coal deposits of the Russian Arctic zone are presented. In coal deposits in the Arctic zone of Russia (Pechora, Lensky, Tungusky, Taimyrsky, Zyryansky coal basins, coal deposits of Chukotka, Kamchatka, Franz Josef Land) anomalous concentrations of trace elements (Sc, Ti, V, Ga, Ge, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb. Mo, Pd, REE, etc.) have been established. The metal contents in the coals of the Lensky and Zyryansky basins, the deposits of Kamchatka, and the Franz Josef Land are given. The results of electron microscopic studies of mineral inclusions (with local microanalysis for their diagnosis) of coals of the Russian Arctic are presented. The results of calculating the prognostic resources of TiO2, V2O5, Th, Y2O3, REE 2O3, Sc, Mo, Ga, and other metals in the studied deposits are given. It is shown that coal deposits of the Russian Arctic zone should be considered as an unconventional and promising source of valuable metals. It is necessary to conduct extensive studies of the metal content of coal basins and deposits in the Arctic zone of Russia and assess the geological resources of the valuable metals contained in them

The results of studies of thermal control coating samples of high-orbital satellites irradiated with electrons and protons with energy characteristic of hot magnetospheric plasma are presented. Changes in morphology of irradiated samples were by atomic force microscopy investigated, and changes in their spectral reflectance were using a double beam spectrophotometer recorded. It was shown that at proton irradiation on the samples surface the gas filled bubbles are formed. At electron irradiation the microprojection and discharge channels on the samples are by electrostatic discharges caused. It was found that the microstructures formation on the surfaces of irradiated samples has no significant effect on their optical properties.
