Boundary operators and boundary ground states in sine-Gordon model with a fixed boundary condition are studied using bosonization and q-deformed oscillators. We also obtain the form-factors of this model.Comment: Latex 25page

A Novel Perspective Linkage Between Kidney Function and Alzheimer’s Disease

    Get PDF
It has long been believed that kidney function is linked to brain activity. Clinical studies demonstrate that patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are more prone to cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and the degree of cognitive impairment is closely related to CKD progression and renal failure. Moreover, the fact that cognitive function in CKD patients is significantly improved after successful kidney transplantation reveals a linkage between CKD and AD. However, the mechanisms behind this linkage are unclear. The physiological function of the kidney is to maintain the stability of the internal environment, including the cerebrovascular circulation, whereas abnormal kidney function often leads to ischemia and hypoxia. Many CKD patients experience chronic hypoxia, and many urinary toxins accumulate after renal function is impaired. In this mini review, we will propose a novel perspective on the association between AD and CKD and the connection between the kidney and brain

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China stated that “Extending the reach and appeal of Chinese civilization.” “We will deepen exchanges and mutual learning with other civilizations and better present Chinese culture to the world.” Xi Jinping emphasized during the 30th study session of the Po-litical Bureau of the Central Committee:”We must promote Chinese culture beyondour national borders, advocating common values, sharing our ideas, and increasing m-utual understanding.” Therefore, the question arises that “how to better promote Chinese culture going global”? Cultural communication as a medium for spreading culture is the basis of international cultural communication. Building a cultural carrier is crucial to promoting Chinese culture to the world, building a discourse system with Chinese characteristics, and developing international cultural communication theories. Furthermore, what characteristics should the cultural carrier have to better adapt tothe psychology of the audience and effectively carry out international cultural communication? This article studies from the perspective of social psychology and combinesthe theory of communication, and adopts the method of case study. Taking Chinese Hong Kong movies, Hangzhou animation and network novels as examples, analyze their characteristics of international cultural communication. Hope to summarize the enlightenment of the construction of international cultural communication carriers from the perspective of China. The conclusion is that Hangzhou animation is more suitable as the main cultural carrier to promote Chinese culture globally

Transforming growth factor-β in graft vessels: histology and immunohistochemistry

OBJECTIVES: The biological functions of transforming growth factor-β signaling that involves Smad proteins have not been previously investigated with respect to coronary artery bypass grafts. The aim of the present study was to observe the immunostaining of proteins that are related to this signaling pathway. METHODS: Fifteen remnants of coronary artery bypass grafts, including nine saphenous veins, three radial arteries and three mammary arteries, were collected from 12 patients who were undergoing coronary artery bypass. Hematoxylin and eosin, Masson's trichrome, and immunohistochemical staining of transforming growth factor-β1, type I receptor of transforming growth factor-β, Smad2/3, Smad4, and Smad7 were performed. RESULTS: The saphenous veins showed more severe intimal degeneration, more severe smooth muscle cell proliferation and more collagen deposition than the arterial grafts, as evidenced by hematoxylin and eosin and Masson's trichrome stainings. Immunohistochemical assays demonstrated that the majority of the transforming growth factor-β1 signaling cytokines were primarily localized in the cytoplasm in the medial layers of all three types of grafts, whereas ectopic transforming growth factor-β1, type I receptor of transforming growth factor-β, and Smad7 overexpressions in the interstices were observed particularly in the saphenous vein and radial arterial grafts. CONCLUSION: Enhanced transforming growth factor-β1 signal transduction with medial smooth muscle cell proliferation and ectopic transforming growth factor-β1, the presence of the type I receptor of transforming growth factor-β, and Smad7 overexpressions in the extracellular matrix may provide primary evidence for early or late graft failure
