The study reports the evaluation of open access repositories in the Asia continent, identified through OpenDOAR; Directory of Open Access Repositories (http://www.open doar.org/). The findings of the study indicate that Japan has the maximum number of Open Access Repositories, and following it is India. Most of the repositories fall under the category of institutional repositories being in English language. The most common software for creation and management of these repositories is Dspace. Maximum repositories are multidisciplinary in nature with health and medicine on the top, if seen subject wise

The purpose of the study is to conduct bibliometric analysis of the research articles of SRFLIS Summit- International Conferences held during the year 2014-2019 and investigate the various dimensions of bibliometric study. The paper conducts bibliometric analysis of 220 articles which were published in the form of conference papers during the covered period. The study evaluates the various aspects of published conference articles of SRFLIS Summit. The study highlights the chronological distribution of papers, authorship pattern, geographical distribution, and affiliation of authors, citation pattern and length of articles. The results explore that the majority of the contributions by two authors. It is observed that a total of 2720 citations counted to the contributions and most cited documents are journal articles. The analysis of countries found that majority of contributions are from India and authors from New Delhi published maximum papers. The study evaluates the publication trends and has important implications for scholars and researcher

The study covers 28 Ph.D. theses submitted during 1995-2018. The study identified that 2016 was the most productive year and the contribution of male research scholars is more as compared to female research scholars. Prof. K. L. Mahawar has supervised the maximum number of theses i.e. 14 corresponding to 50% of all. Majority of references are single authored and from journals. Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal) is the most cited journal. Development and Information Seeking Behavior is the most studied sub domain of LIS. Bibliometric studies on PhD theses has been conducted in various countries in various disciplines, but the study of the published literature shows that a very few attempts have been made in India so far that too in Library and Information Science domain. The study determines the bibliographic features and could be an asset to researchers, academicians and librarians

Mobile technologies for learning: Assessment of mobile learning literacy among students at the Faculty of arts, University of Delhi

It is an attempt to evaluate students learning through mobile technology. The analysis has been done on the basis of framework proposed by Ng (2013) and was primarily divided into three themes namely: (a) concept of mobile Learning and student awareness to it; (b) An underdeveloped mobile Learn literacy; and (c) mobile Learn campus :student expectations. This paper put forth the general level of mobile learning literacy and critical awareness of the students towards use of mobile technology for learning, at the University of Delhi. This research is an attempt to draw the attention of the authorities towards the need to develop programs at university, college and department level to orient users to use mobile devices, to groom them into mobile Learn literate. It has implications to draft policy for promoting mobile Learn university campus, implement mobile Learn teaching and learning programs at the colleges and departments and to develop curriculum to start with mobile Learn classes and focus on the introduction of this new dynamic system of knowledge dissemination after computers and laptops.

Pressure induced structural phase transition in triglycine sulfate and triglycine selenate

    No full text
To elucidate the cause of destruction of ferroelectricity with pressure in triglycine sulfate and triglycine selenate, we have investigated these compounds with the help of Raman measurements as well as first principles total energy and structural optimization calculations. Our results show that, beyond the critical pressures, the loss of ferroelectricity in these compounds is due to the conformational change in one of the three glycine ions of these crystals. Our studies suggest that pressure induced phase transition might be of displacive nature unlike the temperature induced ferroelectric phase transition in these crystals which is known to be of order-disorder type
