Herring-Flicker coupling and thermal quantum correlations in bipartite system
In this letter we study thermal quantum correlations as quantum discord and
entanglement in bipartite system imposed by external magnetic field with
Herring-Flicker coupling ie. . The
Herring-Flicker coupling strength is the function of , which is the distance
between spins and systems carry XXX Heisenberg interaction. By tuning the
coupling distance , temperature and magnetic field quantum correlations can
be scaled in the bipartite system. We find the long sustainable behaviour of
quantum discord in comparison to entanglement over the coupling distance .
We also investigate the situations, where entanglement totally dies but quantum
discord exist in the system. The present findings in the letter may be useful
for designing quantum wires, data bus, solid state gates and quantum

Natural catastrophe modeling for pricing in insurance
Catastrophe modeling is an untraditional branch of property and casualty insurance. Although, Baltic States recently faced some catastrophe events such as storms and floods, there is no accurate storm or flood model present which can provide assistance to insurance companies to underwrite premium and risk management in catastrophe prone areas.
This thesis presents an analysis of natural catastrophe events in Estonia. Due to lack of historical data one can use three approaches. First, take the scenario of rest Baltic States, Scandinavia and Finland to present some accurate picture of historical losses. Second, analyze windstorm and flood event and their distributions. Third, by combining windstorm and floods together what potential damage may occur. This thesis also gives light to mathematical and statistical modeling of vulnerability function, damage ratio, average annual loss and exceedance probability which are used for natural catastrophic perils to estimate financial losses
Stigma of Incarceration and Motivation of Undergraduate Students for Service-Learning
Incarceration can be a long-lasting, stigmatizing life event that significantly impacts one\u27s life and limits ex-offenders in various aspects of their life. The impact of widespread criminal records can obstruct reentry, economic stability, and full participation in society, whether minor, major, old, or new. The study aims to explore the stigma attached to incarceration and the motivation of undergraduate students for Service-Learning. Based on responses from three semi-structured interviews with students interns of the Records Clearance Project of San Jose State University, it was evident that after completing their sentences, ex-offenders come into many barriers that may prevent them from leading a life and in their community engagement. The study also discusses the importance of social and familial integration for effective rehabilitation and undergraduate students\u27 drive even slightly to improve people\u27s lives. According to the paper\u27s conclusions, collateral consequences of incarceration are an invisible form of punishment, and successful reintegration of ex-offenders into society requires support from both the government and society. However, it is critical to investigate their lives after their criminal records have been expunged and any support they may receive from friends and family
