The influence of the substituent [PhNHNH- and EtN(NH2)-] on the N-thiophosphorylated thiosemicarbazides RC(S)NHP(S)(OiPr)2 crystal design
Two N-thiophosphorylated thiosemicarbazides of the common formula RC(S)NHP(S)(OiPr)2 [R = PhNHNH- (1); EtN(NH2)- (2)] have been synthesized and characterized by IR, 1H and 31P spectroscopy, and the single crystal X-ray diffraction method. Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies showed the thiosemicarbazides form both intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds, which in turn lead to polymeric chain formation. Moreover, according to the X-ray data of the phenylsubstituted thiosemicarbazide, the formation of intermolecular H⋯η6-phenyl interactions were established. © 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved
New bifunctional N-thiophosphorylated thiourea and 2,5-dithiobiurea derivatives. Crystal structures of R[C(S)NHP(S)(OiPr)2]2 (R = -N(Ph)CH2CH2N(Ph)- and -NHNH-)
A new bifunctional N-thiophosphorylated thiourea and 2,5-dithiobiurea of the common formula R[C(S)NHP(S)(OiPr)2]2 [R = -N(Ph)CH2CH2N(Ph)- (H2La); -NHNH- (H2Lb)] have been synthesized and characterized by IR, 1H, 31P spectroscopy and the single crystal X-ray diffraction method. The structure of the latter compound in CDCl3 and acetone-d6 solutions has been discussed in comparison with the monofunctional thiosemicarbazide PhNHNHC(S)NHP(S)(OiPr)2 (HLc). © 2008 Elsevier Ltd. Why can the Diels-Alder reaction of 9,10-diphenylanthracene with 4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazoline-3.5-dione pass by an abnormal way?
9,10-Diphenylanthracene reacts with dienophile by 1,4-positions rather than 9,10-ones of trivial anthracenes, that has been justified with estimation of kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the process. © 2013 Mendeleev Communications. All rights reserved
Homo-Diels-Alder reaction of a very inactive diene, bicyclo[2,2,1]hepta-2, 5-diene, with the most active dienophile, 4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazolin-3,5-dione. Solvent, temperature, and high pressure influence on the reaction rate
Solvent, temperature, and high pressure influence on the rate constant of homo-Diels-Alder cycloaddition reactions of the very active hetero-dienophile, 4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazolin-3,5-dione (1), with the very inactive unconjugated diene, bicyclo[2,2,1]hepta-2,5-diene (2), and of 1 with some substituted anthracenes have been studied. The rate constants change amounts to about seven orders of magnitude: from 3.95.10-3 for reaction (1+2) to 12200 L mol-1 s-1 for reaction of 1 with 9,10-dimethylanthracene (4e) in toluene solution at 298 K. A comparison of the reactivity (ln k2) and the heat of reactions (r-nH) of maleic anhydride, tetracyanoethylene and of 1 with several dienes has been performed. The heat of reaction (1+2) is -218 ± 2 kJ mol-1, of 1 with 9,10-dimethylanthracene -117.8 ± 0.7 kJ mol-1, and of 1 with 9,10-dimethoxyanthracene -91.6 ±0.2 kJ mol-1. From these data, it follows that the exothermicity of reaction (1+2) is higher than that with 1,3-butadiene. However, the heat of reaction of 9,10- dimethylanthracene with 1 (-117.8 kJ mol-1) is nearly the same as that found for the reaction with the structural C=C counterpart, N-phenylmaleimide (-117.0 kJ mol-1). Since the energy of the N=N bond is considerably lower (418 kJ/bond) than that of the C=C bond (611 kJ/bond), it was proposed that this difference in the bond energy can generate a lower barrier of activation in the Diels-Alder cycloaddition reaction with 1. Linear correlation (R = 0.94) of the solvent effect on the rate constants of reaction (1+2) and on the heat of solution of 1 has been observed. The ratio of the volume of activation (V≠) and the volume of reaction (V r-n) of the homo-Diels-Alder reaction (1+2) is considered as "normal": V≠/Vr-n = -25.1/-30.95 = 0.81. Gene transfer using new complexes between cardiolipin-like dicationic lipids and plasmid DNA to tumor cells
The lipid vesicles of bisamphiphiles cardiolipin-like dicationic lipids (CDL) I-IV were studied for creation of lipoplexes with plasmid DNA of different sizes to obtain stable lipoplexes for gene transfer to gene therapy. Lipoplexes' sizes (300±100 nm) and stablity (> 2 hrs) of CDL were sufficient to be used in gene transfer against monolayer and suspension cell cultures. The CDL total cytotoxicity determined by MTT-test was lower compare to lipofectin as a control. Transfection conditions against tumor cells lines were optimized by lipoplexes of CDL and plasmid DNA. The most efficient transfection for lipoplexes CDL-plasmid DNA was at the lipid-DNA (L/D) ratio equal to 5 (for lipofectin, it was 2). For monolayer cell cultures, lipoplexes CDL-I are comparable in terms of transfection efficacy with lipofectin; in the case of suspension culture, their efficiency was lower by one order of magnitude. It permits a usage of lipoplexes suggested as mediators for gene transfer and delivery to human tumor cells
