    An efficient face recognition system using local binary pattern.

    Facial recognition is a critical and prominent aspect of current research into image processing and computer vision, with particular applications including confront location, confront acknowledgement and outward appearance investigation. A basic advancement towards fruitful facial picture examination is to infer a viable facial portrayal from the first face pictures. Local Binary Patterns (LBP) have recently gained increased attention as an approach for facial depiction. Neighborhood double example (LBP) is a nonparametric descriptor, which proficiently abridges the nearby structures of pictures. In this paper, there will be a complete overview of LBP and an explanation of extentions of that concept. LBP-based facial picture examination is broadly evaluated, while its fruitful expansions (which manage different aspects of facial picture investigation) are additionally featured

    Nil Intervention is at Times the Best Intervention: Benign emptying of pneumonectomy space

    A sudden drop of air-fluid level in the pneumonectomy space in the absence of a bronchopleural fistula and pleural infection is termed benign emptying of the post pneumonectomy space (BEPS). We herein report a case of benign emptying of pneumonectomy space, briefly review the literature and enumerate possible mechanisms for the same. It is an extremely rare entity and follows a benign course. Patients with BEPS are clinically stable, afebrile with no fluid expectoration, and have a normal white blood cell count. Bronchoscopy reveals an intact bronchial stump and pleural fluid cultures are often sterile. Close monitoring and early detection of a bronchopleural fistula is the management. Clinicians should keep BEPS among the differential diagnosis in case of a drop in the air-fluid level of the post pneumonectomy space. Awareness of this entity is crucial as it helps prevent unnecessary and morbid surgical interventions. Keywords: Pneumonectomy; BEPS; Bronchopleural Fistula; India

    Convolutional network based animal recognition using YOLO and darknet.

    In general, the manual detection of animals with their names is a very tedious task. To overcome this challenge, this research work has developed a YOLOV3 model to identify the animal present in the image given by user. The algorithm used in YOLOV3 model is darknet, which has a pre-trained dataset. The overall performance of the model is based on different training images and testing images of the dataset. The main goal of this research work is to build an animal recognition methodology using YOLOV3 model. The image of animal will be given as input, then it will display the name of the animal as output by using YOLOV3 model. The detection is done by using a pre-trained coco dataset from darknet

    Seed priming: An efficient method for enhancing growth and yield of Sesamum indicum L. under drought stress

    Seed priming is a pre-germination physiological treatment of seeds with natural or synthetic compounds which provides faster and synchronized germination. In the present research work, the seed priming effects of NaCl and KNO3 in Sesamum indicum L.var. Thilothama under drought stress were studied. Sesame is a well known oil yielding plant and the seeds of these plants are used for oil extraction. Morphological, physiological and biochemical analysis were conducted in the seedlings raised from primed and non-primed seeds under field conditions. The results of analyses showed significant reduction in the growth of seedlings under drought stress conditions. But both the seed priming treatments resulted in an increase in the germination percentage, growth and yield. The germination percentage and growth attributes were found to be high in KNO3 primed plants, but as far as the yield parameters were concerned, the fruit weight and seed weight were found to be maximum in NaCl primed plants. Thus from the present research work, it was concluded that both the seed priming methods improved the drought stress tolerance potential of sesame and among the two seed priming treatments, we recommend seed priming with 15 mM NaCl as the most effective method for enhancing yield under drought stress in sesame

    A multilevel analysis of the association between social networks and support on leisure time physical activity: evidence from 40 disadvantaged areas in London

    There has been extensive conceptual and empirical work on the associations between social relations and health in recent years. However, the specific pathways through which social interactions impact on health have not been fully elucidated. The aim of this paper is to estimate associations between leisure time physical activity (LTPA) and social networks and support. Using data from a cross-sectional household survey in 40 disadvantaged Lower Super Output Areas in London, we applied a multilevel model to investigate psychosocial and environmental determinants of physical activity in these populations. Our findings present a strong case for the influence of individual-level social networks on the level of LTPA, although the associations between the types of social support and LTPA were insignificant. We also found that crime rate was an important area-level correlates of LTPA

    Types of Social Capital and Mental Disorder in Deprived Urban Areas: A Multilevel Study of 40 Disadvantaged London Neighbourhoods

    Objectives To examine the extent to which individual and ecological-level cognitive and structural social capital are associated with common mental disorder (CMD), the role played by physical characteristics of the neighbourhood in moderating this association, and the longitudinal change of the association between ecological level cognitive and structural social capital and CMD. Design Cross-sectional and longitudinal study of 40 disadvantaged London neighbourhoods. We used a contextual measure of the physical characteristics of each neighbourhood to examine how the neighbourhood moderates the association between types of social capital and mental disorder. We analysed the association between ecological-level measures of social capital and CMD longitudinally. Participants 4,214 adults aged 16-97 (44.4% men) were randomly selected from 40 disadvantaged London neighbourhoods. Main Outcome Measures General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). Results Structural rather than cognitive social capital was significantly associated with CMD after controlling for socio-demographic variables. However, the two measures of structural social capital used, social networks and civic participation, were negatively and positively associated with CMD respectively. ‘Social networks’ was negatively associated with CMD at both the individual and ecological levels. This result was maintained when contextual aspects of the physical environment (neighbourhood incivilities) were introduced into the model, suggesting that ‘social networks’ was independent from characteristics of the physical environment. When ecological-level longitudinal analysis was conducted, ‘social networks’ was not statistically significant after controlling for individual-level social capital at follow up. Conclusions If we conceptually distinguish between cognitive and structural components as the quality and quantity of social capital respectively, the conclusion of this study is that the quantity rather than quality of social capital is important in relation to CMD at both the individual and ecological levels in disadvantaged urban areas. Thus, policy should support interventions that create and sustain social networks. One of these is explored in this article
