    Melaka had been recognized as a World Heritage City by UNESCO in 2008. Based on UNESCO's website, Melaka (along with George Town) . the historic city of Malaysia have developed over 500 years of trade and cultural exchanged between East and West in the Straits of Malacca .With its government buildings, churches, squares and fortifications, Melaka demonstrates the early stages of this history originating in the 15th century Malay sultanate and the Portuguese and Dutch periods beginning in the early 16th century. The two towns constitute a unique architectural and cultural townscape without parallel anywhere in East and Southeast Asia. Based on previous history, it shows that the development and style of arts .culture and architecture are resulted assimilation of foreign countries such as Portuguese. Dutch and British. For an example , the Melaka traditional mosque, there are a lot of assimilation of Chinese. Sumatra n and Indians influence on the architecture itself. The mosque has its own unique identity compare to other mosques in Malaysia

    Melaka have developed over 500 years of trade and cultural exchanged between East and West in the Straits of Malacca and had been recognized as a World Heritage by the UNESCO in 2008. Besides trading exchange, some of merchant brought an influence of religion, culture and also an art from their country to the Melaka. The process of assimilation of influence can be seen in cultures and buildings of Melaka. For example traditional mosques in Melaka have a different style of architecture compared to the other state mosques in Malaysia. It has a combination of influences from Sumatra and Chinese. There are some of motifs and pattern represent influence can be seen on the mosques. For this research paper, lotus motif from the roof crown also known as buton and mahkota atap of Melaka traditional mosques will become as a subject to study on the stylization permutation based on year. There are 20 traditional mosques were build in 1720-1950 will be selected and which is maintain the roof crown without replacing by doom. Objectively, this research paper is about to study the influences of Lotus motif and the relation of lotus motif with Malay and Islam perception. Visual research and content analysis method will use to gathering the data. Findings showed each of lotus motif have different style based on era which lotus motif in 17th era have a realistic and complexity compared than lotus motifs in 19th era which is more simplicity and stylization

    Historically, photography has been used to document historical events; however, these images typically feature simply a brief synopsis of the year, the event’s name, and the individuals depicted. Each subject in a photograph is a representation of the time period depicted and must be identified. As such, this presentation will analyse historical pictures through the lens of a Critical Visual Methodology (CVM). Objectively, this study will identify the visual features and analyse the photograph’s composition. The study is based on a photograph of the inaugural Durbar Conference entitled Federal Conference Group, Kuala Kangsar, 1897 by G R Lambert & Co. The visual study reveals that each row of the group portrait indicates their status and hierarchy, beginning with the Sultan and ending with the British officer, aristocrat, and soldier

    Photography lives between art and sciences. Photography has been developed since 1827 when Joseph Nicephore Niepce who invented the first permanent image in a world entitled 'A View From Windows at Le Gras'. After the achievement of creating permanent image, there are several enhancement of experiments has been done image such as Dagguereotype (1839), Calotype (1841), Wet Collodion (1851) and many more. The widespread of photography to the world started in 1888 when George Eastmen introduced Kodak box camera with dry plate of roll film. Along this achievement it created a job and also a photography movement. There are several an art photography movement in 19th century started with Pictorialism, Russian Constructivism, Dadaism, Surrealism, Straight Photography, California Modernist, Abstract Photography Post WWII and Post Modernist.Objectively this research paper is to explore an art photography movement in Malaysia which of these movements was influenced Malaysian art photographers from 1900 to 2000
