    Pengaruh Brand Positioning dan Brand Equity terhadap Keputusan Pembelian Sepeda Motor Yamaha

    This study aims to determine whether the brand positioning and brand equity that include brand awareness, perceived quality, brand association, brand loyalty have an influence on purchasing decisions Yamaha motorcycles, as well as what factors are the most dominant among the brand positioning, brand awareness, perceived quality, brand association, brand loyalty, the purchasing decision of Yamaha motorcycles in the Housing Karawaci Tangerang.The population in this study are all consumers of Yamaha motorcycles in the Housing Karawaci Tangerang who buy and use a Yamaha motorcycle. A sample drawn from the population to be used in research as respondents as many as 100 people. Sampling technique using non-probability sampling method by purposive sampling. The analytical method used is the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis.The results showed that the analysis of the factors that influence purchasing decisions Yamaha motorcycle individually is the brand positioning has an influence on purchasing decisions with significant value 0.032> 0.05, and brand equity, especially perceived quality has an influence on purchasing decisions with significant value 0.029 < 0:05. Other elements of brand equity consisting of brand awareness does not have the influence on purchasing decisions with significant value 0496> 0.05, brand association has no influence on purchasing decisions with significant value 0.900> 0.05, and brand loyalty has no influence on purchasing decisions with significant value 0.296> 0.05.Further analysis of the factors that influence purchasing decisions Yamaha motorcycle jointly between the brand positioning and brand equity consisting of brand awareness, perceived quality, brand association, and brand loyalty effect with significant value 0.011 <0.05. From the analysis of the factors that influence the purchase decisions of the five variables analyzed, the most dominant influence purchasing decisions Yamaha motorcycle seen based on the value Unstandarized Coefficients (B) is variable perceived quality with the coefficient of the biggest (0.266) compared with the value coefficients of other variables.     Penggunaan Bubuk Kulit Buah Manggis Sebagai Laru Alami Nira Terhadap Karakteristik Fisik Dan Kimia Gula Kelapa the Application of Mangosteen Rind Powder as Natural Preservation on Physochochemical Characteristic of Coconut Sugar

    Gula kelapa merupakan bahan pangan yang terbuat dari nira kelapa. Nira mudah mengalami kerusakan karena kontaminasi mikroba. Kerusakan nira dapat dicegah dengan penambahan campuran bubuk kapur dengan bubuk kulit buah manggis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kombinasi antara persentase bubuk kulit buah manggis terhadap laru dengan jumlah pemberian laru dalam satu liter nira yang menghasilkan gula kelapa terbaik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Faktor yang dikaji meliputi persentase bubuk kulit buah manggis terhadap laru (M) (b/b) yaitu 2,5%; 5%; 7,5%; dan 10%; jumlah pemberian laru ke dalam nira kelapa (P) yaitu 1 g/liter (P1) dan 2 g/liter (P2). Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap pH nira kelapa dan gula kelapa cetak yang meliputi kadar air, kadar abu, kadar gula reduksi, total fenolik, total padatan terlarut, tekstur, warna, aroma khas gula, tingkatan rasa manis dan kesukaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi perlakuan yang menghasilkan gula kelapa dengan sifat fisik, kimia dan sensorik terbaik adalah perlakuan persentase bubuk kulit buah manggis terhadap laru; 7,5% (b/b) dengan jumlah pemberian laru ke dalam nira sebanyak 1 g/liter. Kombinasi tersebut menghasilkan nira dengan pH 5,78 dan gula kelapa dengan kadar gula reduksi 12,29 %bb; kadar air 8,32 %bb; total padatan terlarut 4,83oBrix; tekstur 0,0021 mm.det/g; kadar abu 2,28 %bb; total fenolik 0,928 mg/g; warna : coklat tua (1,91); aroma khas gula kelapa cetak : agak kuat (2,38); tingkatan rasa manis : manis (2,78); dan kesukaan : agak suka (2,45)

    The pink pigment has been isolated from Oscillatoria algae cell. The pigment showed physichochemical properties similar to phycoerythrin produced by red algae. The aims of this study were to evaluate antioxidant activity and stability of the pigment at various pH and temperature. The pigment was diluted using 20 mM phosphate buffer at different pH of 6, 7, and 8 and incubated at various temperature of 28, 40, 70, and 100 c. antioxidant activity and stability of the pigment were determined using ferric thiocyanate method and thiobarbituric acid test. The result showed that antioxidant activity of the pigment was stable at pH 7 and temperature 28o c, and the antioxidant stability tend to decrease when the pH buffer solution change to acid or alkali and increasing of temperature

    Hubungan Indeks Massa Tubuh dengan Densitas Mineral Tulang pada Perempuan Dewasa Muda (Association Between Body Mass Index And Bone Mineral Density In Young Adult Female )

    Background: Body Mass Index (BMI) is a good indicator for measurement of Bone Mineral Density (BMD), so it is often used to predict BMD. Objective: To assess the association between BMI and status of BMD among 242 young adult female who were 25-35 years of age and who underwent quantitative ultrasound bone densitometry (QUS) scan. Method: We used data from the study on “Determinants of Risk Factors for Osteoporosis at three provinces in Indonesia” that was undertaken by the Center for Research and Development in Nutrition and Food, 2007. Design of the study was cross-sectional study. The dependent variable was BMD; the independent variable was BMI; and the confounding variables were: acceptors of hormonal contraception, physical exercises, calcium intake, ratio of Ca: P intake, consumptions of supplements, sources of phytoestrogen, fruits and vegetables. Result: Ca intake < 500 mg/day had a risk twice to low BMD than adequate Ca intake, the association was statistically significant (p<0.05). There are no association between BMI and BMD (p>0,05). Other variables as hormonal contraception, physical exercise, protein intake, Ca: P ratio intake, consumption of supplements source of phytoestrogen, fruits and vegetables have no association with BMD. Conclusion: There are no significant association between BMI and BMD. Calcium intake was the only risk factor for low BMD

    Pengaruh Pemberian Kopi yang Diformulasikan dengan Antioksidan dan Gula Kelapa terhadap Tekanan Darah, MDA, dan SOD Serum Tikus Obesitas

    Pengembangan kopi mix tinggi antioksidan dengan pemanis gula kelapa adalah salah satu alternatif untuk mensuplai antioksidan pada individu obese guna menekan stress oksidatif. Minyak sawit merah (MSM) yang kaya antioksidan ditambahkan dalam proses pembuatannya. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian minuman kopi mix gula kelapa terhadap tekanan darah, kadar SOD, dan MDA tikus obesitas. Penelitian eksperimental menggunakan 18 ekor tikus yang diinduksi menjadi obese dengan diet tinggi lemak (indeks Lee>0,3). Dibagi 3 kelompok (n=6), masing-masing mendapatkan perlakuan: (1) kopi mix gula tebu tanpa MSM = 0,45 g/200 g BB/ hari (P1); (2) kopi mix gula kelapa dengan MSM= 0,45 g/200 g BB/hari (P2); dan (3) kopi mix gula kelapa dengan MSM= 0,90 g/200 g BB/hari (P3). Intervensi dilakukan selama 2 minggu. Pengamatan terhadap Perubahan berat badan, tekanan darah, kadar SOD, dan MDA serum (pre-post). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kopi mix gula kelapa dengan MSM pada tikus obese (P2 dan P3) secara nyata menurunkan tekanan darah (26,9% dan 40,6%), dan kadar MDA serum (35,3% dan 61,8%), serta menaikkan SOD serum (28,79% dan 53,66%), sebaliknya pada kelompok kopi mix gula tebu tanpa MSM terjadi peningkatan tekanan darah (2,9%) dan kadar MDA (1,9%), serta menurunkan kadar SOD (16,6%). Peningkatan berat badan pada kelompok kopi mix gula tebu non MSM secara nyata lebih tinggi (P1=7,8%), dibandingkan kelompok kopi gula kelapa dengan MSM (P2=6,7%; P3=4,4%). Kopi mix tinggi antioksidan dengan pemanis gula kelapa berpotensi sebagai pangan alternatif untuk menekan stress oksidatif pada tikus obesitas
