Intelligent control of mobile robot with redundant manipulator & stereovision: quantum / soft computing toolkit
The task of an intelligent control system design applying soft and quantum computational intelligence technologies discussed. An example of a control object as a mobile robot with redundant robotic manipulator and stereovision introduced. Design of robust knowledge bases is performed using a developed computational intelligence – quantum / soft computing toolkit (QC/SCOptKBTM). The knowledge base self-organization process of fuzzy homogeneous regulators through the application of end-to-end IT of quantum computing described. The coordination control between the mobile robot and redundant manipulator with stereovision based on soft computing described. The general design methodology of a generalizing control unit based on the physical laws of quantum computing (quantum information-thermodynamic trade-off of control quality distribution and knowledge base self-organization goal) is considered. The modernization of the pattern recognition system based on stereo vision technology presented. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is demonstrated in comparison with the structures of control systems based on soft computing for unforeseen control situations with sensor system
Endogenous Isoquinoline Alkaloids Agonists of Acid-Sensing Ion Channel Type 3
Acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) ASIC3 expressed mainly in peripheral sensory neurons play an important role in pain perception and inflammation development. In response to acidic stimuli, they can generate a unique biphasic current. At physiological pH 7.4, human ASIC3 isoform (hASIC3) is desensitized and able to generate only a sustained current. We found endogenous isoquinoline alkaloids (EIAs), which restore hASIC3 from desensitization and recover the transient component of the current. Similarly, rat ASIC3 isoform (rASIC3) can also be restored from desensitization (at pH < 7.0) by EIAs with the same potency. At physiological pH and above, EIAs at high concentrations were able to effectively activate hASIC3 and rASIC3. Thus, we found first endogenous agonists of ASIC3 channels that could both activate and prevent or reverse desensitization of the channel. The decrease of EIA levels could be suggested as a novel therapeutic strategy for treatment of pain and inflammation
Analysis of scalar perturbations in cosmological models with a non-local scalar field
We develop the cosmological perturbations formalism in models with a single
non-local scalar field originating from the string field theory description of
the rolling tachyon dynamics. We construct the equation for the energy density
perturbations of the non-local scalar field in the presence of the arbitrary
potential and formulate the local system of equations for perturbations in the
linearized model when both simple and double roots of the characteristic
equation are present. We carry out the general analysis related to the
curvature and entropy perturbations and consider the most specific example of
perturbations when important quantities in the model become complex.Comment: LaTeX, 25 pages, 1 figure, v2: Subsection 3.2 and Section 5 added,

Dynamics in nonlocal linear models in the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric
A general class of cosmological models driven by a nonlocal scalar field
inspired by the string field theory is studied. Using the fact that the
considering linear nonlocal model is equivalent to an infinite number of local
models we have found an exact special solution of the nonlocal Friedmann
equations. This solution describes a monotonically increasing Universe with the
phantom dark energy.Comment: 18 pages, 3 figures, a few misprints in Section 5 have been correcte
Bouncing and Accelerating Solutions in Nonlocal Stringy Models
A general class of cosmological models driven by a non-local scalar field
inspired by string field theories is studied. In particular cases the scalar
field is a string dilaton or a string tachyon. A distinguished feature of these
models is a crossing of the phantom divide. We reveal the nature of this
phenomena showing that it is caused by an equivalence of the initial non-local
model to a model with an infinite number of local fields some of which are
ghosts. Deformations of the model that admit exact solutions are constructed.
These deformations contain locking potentials that stabilize solutions.
Bouncing and accelerating solutions are presented.Comment: Minor corrections, references added, published in JHE
Cosmological perturbations in SFT inspired non-local scalar field models
We study cosmological perturbations in models with a single non-local scalar
field originating from the string field theory description of the rolling
tachyon dynamics. We construct the equation for the energy density
perturbations of the non-local scalar field and explicitly prove that for the
free field it is identical to a system of local cosmological perturbation
equations in a particular model with multiple (maybe infinitely many) local
free scalar fields.Comment: 21 pages, no figures, v3: presentation improved, results unchanged,

Endogenous Neuropeptide Nocistatin Is a Direct Agonist of Acid-Sensing Ion Channels (ASIC1, ASIC2 and ASIC3)
Acid-sensing ion channel (ASIC) channels belong to the family of ligand-gated ion channels known as acid-sensing (proton-gated) ion channels. Only a few activators of ASICs are known. These are exogenous and endogenous molecules that cause a persistent, slowly desensitized current, different from an acid-induced current. Here we describe a novel endogenous agonist of ASICs—peptide nocistatin produced by neuronal cells and neutrophils as a part of prepronociceptin precursor protein. The rat nocistatin evoked currents in X. laevis oocytes expressing rat ASIC1a, ASIC1b, ASIC2a, and ASIC3 that were very similar in kinetic parameters to the proton-gated response. Detailed characterization of nocistatin action on rASIC1a revealed a proton-like dose-dependence of activation, which was accompanied by a dose-dependent decrease in the sensitivity of the channel to the protons. The toxin mambalgin-2, antagonist of ASIC1a, inhibited nocistatin-induced current, therefore the close similarity of mechanisms for ASIC1a activation by peptide and protons could be suggested. Thus, nocistatin is the first endogenous direct agonist of ASICs. This data could give a key to understanding ASICs activation regulation in the nervous system and also could be used to develop new drugs to treat pathological processes associated with ASICs activation, such as neurodegeneration, inflammation, and pain
