Implications of the dark axion portal for the muon g-2, B-factories, fixed target neutrino experiments and beam dumps
The dark axion portal is a recently introduced portal between the standard
model and the dark sector. It connects both the dark photon and the axion (or
axion-like particle) to the photon simultaneously through an anomaly triangle.
While the vector portal and the axion portal have been popular venues to search
for the dark photon and axion, respectively, the new portal provides new
detection channels if they coexist. The dark axion portal is not a result of
the simple combination of the two portals, and its value is not determined by
the other portal values; it should be tested independently. In this paper, we
discuss implications of the new portal for the leptonic g-2, B-factories, fixed
target neutrino experiments, and beam dumps. We provide the model-independent
constraints on the axion-photon-dark photon coupling and discuss the
sensitivities of the recently activated Belle-II experiment, which will play an
important role in testing the new portal.Comment: 14 pages, 12 figures. v2 - Additional discussion and references

Hippocampal Subfield and Whole-Brain Activity During Mnemonic Discrimination Across the Adult Lifespan
Mnemonic discrimination, the ability to distinguish between existing representations and similar new inputs, is suggested to decline with age. Prior studies have associated this age-dependent deficit with age-related changes in the hippocampus, but little is known about the contributions of other cortical brain regions related to episodic memory. Moreover, while past studies examined mnemonic discrimination processes in younger and older adults, middle-aged adults are critically understudied. The current study employed a novel MRI technique enabling whole-brain coverage and isolation of hippocampal subfields at the same time, to examine how neural activity during mnemonic discrimination differs across the lifespan, by testing a sample of individuals ages 18-85. Successful mnemonic discrimination was associated with brain activity in several cortical areas but not in hippocampal subfields, and brain activity did not differ by age. These findings suggest that mnemonic discrimination involves cortical regions, but further research is needed to identify any age-related differences.Master of Art
Temperature-dependent evolutions of excitonic superfluid plasma frequency in a srong excitonic insulator candidate, TaNiSe
We investigate an interesting anisotropic van der Waals material,
TaNiSe, using optical spectroscopy. TaNiSe has been
known as one of the few excitonic insulators proposed over 50 years ago.
TaNiSe has quasi-one dimensional chains along the -axis. We have
obtained anisotropic optical properties of a single crystal TaNiSe
along the - and -axes. The measured - and -axis optical
conductivities exhibit large anisotropic electronic and phononic properties.
With regard to the -axis optical conductivity, a sharp peak near 3050
cm at 9 K, with a well-defined optical gap ( 1800
cm) and a strong temperature-dependence, is observed. With an increase
in temperature, this peak broadens and the optical energy gap closes around
325 K(). The spectral weight redistribution with respect to the
frequency and temperature indicates that the normalized optical energy gap
() is . The
temperature-dependent superfluid plasma frequency of the excitonic condensation
in TaNiSe has been determined from measured optical data. Our
findings may be useful for future research on excitonic insulators.Comment: 17 pages, 5 figure
System Development of Transmitting Conformal SATCOM Array Antenna Structures(CSAAS)
This study presents the development results of Conformal SATCOM Array Antenna Structure(CSAAS) for transmitting. Tile Type antenna with 8x8 antenna element array has been developed instead of reflector antenna. 8x8 tile antennas are arrayed on the curved surface with one directional curvature to simulate aircraft skin configuration. Housing has the grid structure to minimize out-of-plane deformation that affects the antenna performances. Tile antennas are attached to the surfaces between grids. Radome is designed as an A-sandwich type to carry some distributed skin load and glass epoxy material with lowest dielectric constant and loss tangent was used for the best electromagnetic performance. One tile antenna is designed with a separate data control and power connection for vertical and horizontal polarization. The static structural strength of the housing and impact strength of the radome were verified by the analysis and tests. Beam pattern test, beam control test and beam steering test are performed in an anechoic chamber for the transmitting CSAAS. The results of structural and electromagnetic tests showed that the design objects met the goal successfully
